Thank you for the review! I’m going to buy this. I’ve heard many good things about this game. May be a good “Gateway” game into the more detailed War games. The quick and somewhat simplistic rules here coupled with quicker games really appeals to me. And the fact that I can play Solo too!! Sold. The Solo mode is good as well I’ve heard. Yeah, I’m literally buying right now!!!
I totally agree with your assessment. This game, as well as Mark Herman's Gettysburg, are currently my "go to" war games when I want to play something light and fast.
@@XLEGION1 Calling it a system might be a stretch, but W1815 is a game about Waterloo by U&P Games that uses very similar mechanics. The ideas to not simulate the movement of troops on the map and have them take several special actions via their cards originated there. The presentation is also very similar. Gilbert, I think that Cowpens would work well with this system- the successive lines; the orders allowing the militia to retire after 2 volleys. I agree that it is not necessarily suitable for ANY battle, but hope to see some further use of it.....
That’s too bad. When I’m playing the game I don’t even notice them. In fact, they kind of remind me of those arrows and lines you see on those strategic maps in military books.
Oh, I keep them simple. I would not attempt to show her "Virgin Queen" or "Republic of Rome". Still, she had defeated me in the old 1962 "Bismarck" game!
Thank you for this, I haven't opened my copy yet.

One small nit. You don't use Momentum blocks to keep up with Morale. You use the extra Red and Blue blocks available.
Looks like an interesting design! Great vid! Love your channel! 🍻
Looks very much like an enhancement on the W1815-System. Thank you for bringing the game to my attention.
What is the W-1815 system?

Waterloo 1815 was made by a Finish designer (Hannu Uusitalo) and looks indeed very similar but it isn't the same

Enjoyable review; time to get out the Morgan turkey-bone whistle and re-read Robert;s " A Rabble in Arms eh?
What was the book you were referencing in the beginning, please?
He used an old Department of The Interior handbook that was printed back in the 50/60's. Saratoga, #4, price was $.25 cents.
i like the map and blocks, but the markings on the map of where the blocks should go spoils it for me :(

Teach your wife or girlfriend, huh?
Sir, you and I have very different life experiences!
