Paul in his prime probably had the most versatile voice in popular music history. He could literally sing anything in any style. This is in my top 3 Beatles songs. It grabs you.
On top of this, he could play almost any instrument you put in front of him. Truly a generational talent
That's so true. I was a barely a year old when The Beatles split. By the age of 9 I knew all the words to 'the hits'. That said, I had this notion, well into my mid-teens, that Paul was the bright-eyed, measured and 'merely melodic' (ouch!) conservative.
I grew up.
His ability to harmonise was as good as anyone too. And he could do it with John or George perfectly. Truly one of the greatest voices ever
yeaaahhh he has a thousand voices!
markydh83, you should delve into Elvis' catalog. Then you'll find the most versatile voice. He influenced The Beatles. He wasn't called the King of Rock and Roll for nothing.
The Beatles Are The Greatest Of All Time 😊
The Beatles are ine of the few bands where you can listen to their catalog and find your favorite song, then a week later find another then another. The more you listen the more you realize how talented these guys are....
Little known fact: John is playing the guitar on this song not George. George played bass.
You have to react to the new Beatles song “Now and Then.” It makes me cry every time!! The Beatles are the best band in the world.
DEFINITELY!!!
The music video did it for me.
Yes, Now and Then, please. Don’t be late to the party.
The official video. If you don't cry, you have no soul.
Please, please PLEASE when you do Now & Then (and you will, lol), do the VIDEO, not the audio! (Maybe also do the 12 minute short film explaining how history was made with N & T.)❤❤
The new song from The Beatles made this 68-year-old man cry. It’s emotional. So touching.
awwe !
Me too my friend. Me too.
I cry EVERY time I watch the video.
@@KISSrocks123 I've watched dozens of reactions to the music video and have teared up every time.
Same. I have probably seen it close to 20 times now including several different reactions, and it gets me every single time.
Ringo is left handed, which gives he his unique style of drumming.
He plays a right handed kit but he leads with his left.
RO go is left handed but his kit is right handed, this is why Ringo has a unique sound.
Never can go wrong with a Beatles song 😉✌️❤️🍻
Greatest band EVER!!
@@davidadams5280 😱. Rocky Raccoon 🦝 is artistic 😉✌️
@@davidadams5280 No, you are wrong, Rocky Raccoon is great, and you really do not know a fucking thing. Music is of course, subjective, if you have any idea what this even means, (which I doubt).
@@davidadams5280 Worst song by Paul during the Fab Four's run is "Wild Honey Pie", not to be confused w/ "Honey Pie".
@@davidadams5280 Rocky Raccoon was one of my favs. I like offbeat.
McCartney channeling Little Richard here
Paul McCartney: vocals, backing vocals, bass
John Lennon: backing vocals, piano
George Harrison: backing vocals, guitar
Ringo Starr: drums
Billy Preston: organ
What drew me to the Beatle's was their sheer ability not only to write and sing great songs, but also to play so many different genres, each new record that they came out with was a magical mystery tour in itself !
Paul McCartney still has that boyish charm after all these years. He’s just completed another tour of Australia, and at 81 years old he still absolutely wowed his record attending crowds with his non stop 49 hit songs ( his and the Beatles ) over 3 hours. His energy and shear talent and tenacity speaks for itself. A true legend.
49 songs in a 3 hour set at 81 boggles the mind as he is still just as he ever was. 🎵
Not 49, it was 37 songs if you count the last 3, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight and The End as one song, beats the hell out of the lazy 11 or 12 you got from the Beatles
@@sg-yq8pm Still mind blowing at 81.
What a concert! Im still buzzing from it weeks later. Such a nostalgic journey for this old Boomer.
Faul - William Shepherd is actually older more like 85.
Paul's voice on this song always impresses me..they way its soft but also belting thats really something special
John's would have impressed even more, I believe.
@@QuirkydudeKevin tbh i always thought it was John
@@QuirkydudeKevinI know John wished to sing it, but I’m not sure he could hit some of those notes
@@Oceantreasures24 John thought he should have sung this song. We will never know, but to hear both versions would have truly been a gift.
@@QuirkydudeKevin lol john was jealous of pauls vocal abilities, paul sung it perfectly.
One of many brilliant Paul tunes. The vocals are killer! Those high "woo hoo" notes illustrate Little Richard's profound influence on Paul.
When they opened in London for Little Richard Paul spent a lot of time with him to learn how to make those sounds.
Paul is such a unique bassist because he plays bass as if he were playing a counter-melody guitar part. It's nearly ALWAYS complimentary and fills in chords in a melodic, memorable way.
He is indeed a great bassist BUT on this particular song, George Harrison was playing bass as McCartney was tickling the ivories...John Lennon on guitar of course.
I'm your age and I remember when The Beatles hit america. I had never heard anything like them,we were listening to Chubby Checker and the likes of Fabians and Paul Ankas at the time and they hit like a hurricane. I am and always will be a Beatles fan.
Absolutely no question about it. Easily one the top most flavorful bass players in any genre, any history. I've alway said the top 3 ingredients behind their early success was 1.) Their vocal harmonies 2.) Their "under two minute song arrangements. and 3.) Paul's bass work.
He was, I think, the first bassist to have the bass bear a relation to the melody rather than just the chord.
that is INSANE, you know? There is another video here on youtube of a bassist player showing Paul's musical evolution with the bass and he shows exactly how Paul plays the bass filling the blanks instead of just keeping the tempo.
OMG! If you've never heard Paul like this, then you don't know Helter Skelter. It was just the first recording of a Heavy Metal rock song EVER!!
Been harping on this one for a while. Also Tomorrow Never Knows which Amber would love.
Yes Helter Skelter and Tomorrow Never Knows next!
Don't forget "I'm Down" another great McCartney vocal that gets overlooked!!
How about "Got To Get You Into My Life" for shouts?
@@rrailguitar2211 Long Tall Sally too!!
John Lennon - “Cold Turkey”
I agree, Paul so much emotion, Ringo killing it. And George’s guitar, how did he come up with that riff?! It’s nuts! No guitarist of that era would conceive of that choppy staccato part. That must have been so wild in that time. So brave of the band to risk doing some very progressive experimental sounds like that. The Beatles never played it safe. They constantly evolved and took such huge leaps when they could have just set it on cruise control and churned out sure fire money makers. I respect that so much. Shows how much they were in it for the love of the music. It’s so forward sounding in this almost 50’s r&b sounding arrangement. It’s such a perfect song on so many levels. That whole album is my favorite for sure.
Hard to believe that the smooth, soft tone of Paul's melodic voicings could produce the best throat shredding ever - and seemingly without any lasting ill effects..
One of my very favorite McCartney vocals. Still going strong at the age of 81. Congrats, Paul, on your very latest no. 1 with "Now and Then." Beatlemania alive and well in 2023.
The greatest band of all time!
Absolutely!!
In 1964 when the Beatles hit I was 8 years old. But even 8 year olds knew how special they were. I was Paul’s girl then and 60 years later I am still Paul’s girl. Some loves last a lifetime. ❤
Same… watched them on the Ed Sullivan Show… So exciting. My brother and I would drive our parents crazy singing their songs in the car at the top of our lungs. I can still remember singing I want to Hold Your Hand on the way to the first McDonalds in our area. Also, aside from drive ins, theirs were the only movies we went to see as a whole family.
I was born in 1964 and took to The Beatles long before I could walk or talk. According to my parents I just lit up when hearing them. By 3 or 4 they gave me a little kids' record player and The Beatles were the soundtrack of my childhood with Paul oh so special from the beginning.
I was mad when he married that gold digger, Heather, while I was available. 😂
@@robinmills8675 I hate that woman. Sad thing is Paul and she had a little girl. I'm glad he found Nancy. They seem relaxed and natural together. Heather wanted the spotlight ... Nancy avoids it. Sorry you missed your shot at Paul.
Me too. Imagine when I discovered my boyfriend was his cousin!
An under-appreciated Beatles classic. This album, esp. side, 2 (the best second side ever) even more so than this great song, was Paul at his very, very best.
I can’t believe you are doing this!! Yay!! It’s gonna be epic!!! ❤❤you did a reaction to Paul McCartney by himself with a very raw voice!❤❤
When the Beatles are discussed, this great song is never even mentioned, because the Beatles had so MANY great songs. There is no band like the Beatles, and I feel fortunate to have seen them in concert in 1965.
Could you hear them?
Amazing!! ❤ I was born in 65' I asked my Mom when I was about 12 or 13 years old about the Beatles when Sargent Peppers lonely heart club movie came out, she said they'd go bananas screaming n crying for the Beatles ❤ that you couldn't hear them perform at all!! Lol that would of been insane to see!! Lucky duck! ❤
@@Metal_MaryI haven’t heard anyone say “lucky duck” in years. I’m going to start saying it again.
@@Metal_Mary Thank you, I was 14 and my sister who was 16 became a huge fan as soon as they came to the US in February of 1964. We saw them in Minneapolis in August, although we lived in Omaha, Nebraska, our parents took us as part of a vacation. It was a great experience, and I will never forget it. Of course, I had no idea at the time that it would be a big deal in the years to come.
The thing you need to think about, Ringo said Paul made them all work, and if it was up to the rest of them, they were in to having a good time and would have only put out a few songs
John wanted to sing this song so much, but Paul probably had more range, so he snatched it! He killed it!!
This is regarded by critics as one of McCartney's strongest vocal performances!
That and ‘Wanderlust’ as well as ‘Maybe I’m Amazed’. Very great examples of his range.
@@HalfEatenMedia and Call Me Back Again or Coming Up Live
If you liked Paul's voice in this I think you're going to enjoy Helter Skelter when you get to it.🤘
Perhaps Paul's most fantastic Beatle vocal, one of his best vocals of his entire career, and that's saying something!!
This has always been one of my absolute favourites!! 🙂❤
Barry Gibb called. He says he was humbled to be mentioned in the same sentence with Sir Paul. P.S. I hear you, Ringo…
The most eclectic band of all time. You want rock: "Back in the U.S.S.R". You want a soft ballad: "Here, There and Everywhere". You want storytelling: "She's Leaving Home". You want classic harmony: "Because". You want Folk: "Blackbird". you want 60's love song: "If I Fell" or "And I Love Her".
"If I Fell" is proof that even John in those days could pull off a good love ballad.
Don't forget "Michelle" , in the list of beautiful Beatles ballads! It, and "Because" are gorgeous. "Because" has deep, wonderful Beatles harmonies, on steroids!!
@@sarahfullerton6894 9-part, I believe?
Just reading the words that you wrote, the title of the song... It instantly starts playing in my head? No other group has that ability. Any song by the Beatles. Instantly.
When I was young, my best friend liked the 'Stones. We often disagreed on who was the best. Bless his heart though, he introduced me to a whole bunch of bands and
opened my eyes to whole genres of music.I'm so glad that I grew up when I did.
Country/western - "I've Just Seen a Face"
Paul lived a few blocks away from Abbey Road studio at the time, and while recording this song he got into the habit of getting to the studio early each morning an hour before the other Beatles arrived, then tried this song only once. Not happy, he would drop it and try again the next morning and this went on for several days until he was happy with the vocals. He would only try once so as not to break his voice, for obvious reasons if you listen to the song. He said “5 years ago I could have done this in a flash”. Great performance. Thanks for reacting.
I've never heard this before ...Paul's vocal is wow
Thank God I lived through this from 1962 until ‘NOW AND THEN”!
Pau's excellent tribute to 1950s style music and rhythm and blues.
You guys MUST check out their NEW song - *Now & Then*
BTW - their new song just topped the UK charts. Their 1st #1 in 54 years!
Revolution number 9 off the white album is nuts
Paul could sing the phone directory and have you in awe!
You guys need to watch Get Back - 6 hours of Beatles writing an album from scratch. This one has it's origins in the Let it Be/Get Back sessions.
Amber hit the nail on the head again when she talked about how she would have been a Paul girl. At the time, every teenage girl had their favorite Beatle. If you ever watch the movie "A Hard Days Night, you will see how some fell in love with Ringo. A great selection today. Thank you.
I started as a "Paul Girl" but eventually became a John lover!
I always thought that if you knew all 4 in real life, Ringo is the one you’d actually want to hang with.
...and by the way, watch A Hard Day's Night...and the other Beatles movies!
I’ve always been a “Georgie girl”myself.😂
It’s always been Paul for me. 🥰
Abbey Road....best album ever made.
That sends chills down the same thing I felt over 40 years ago
Now you know why we have been requesting this song so much. As you discovered, everything about it is amazing. One of the few albums I had when it came out in 1969 and I still play it in its entirety, the way it is supposed to be listened to. Glad you liked it and keep checking out the Beatles. There is so much there.
Paul gives you the post-Helter Skelter scream and a little high-pitched Little Richard as well. Paul's vocal range is almost as impressive as his tone. P.S. If you haven't heard Helter Skelter from the White Album you won't believe it. Paul screams and the guitar work is crazy in this proto-punk/metal song that nobody could believe was The Beatles. Get ready to be blown away.
A song sadly seriously misinterpreted by Charles Manson.
Ringo was the master of playing creative appropriate drum lines. Never over playing his part. Finding a way to always be just right.
Paul has described this performance as him doing his "best John"
Anything Beatles is wonderful and amazing
You should really be reacting to the new Beatles song and video “Now and Then" ... guaranteed to take you into the heart. Beautiful, poignant and much needed right now.
Totally in love with Paul McCartney from childhood ❤️🔥
The Beatles Recording Sessions book said that Paul went into the studio at 7 AM that morning just so he could get that rough morning voice for the vocal he wanted.
Nice to hear The Beatles as they are No1 here in the UK with 'Now and Then'. Quite a soulful one from them with Paul singing. A few good ones you haven't done are' Get Back' , 'Let it be' , 'The ballad of John and Yoko' and the less well known but great 'Things we said today'-Colin Ward
Have you ever heard Yoko's "Kiss, Kiss, Kiss my lips? On the Imagination album. If you haven't heard it - a word of warning! DO NOT LISTEN TO IT! LOL. I'm in the U.S.
Yesterday was Veterans Day here. Honoring all of our Vets. I'm glad that you guys were on our side as well. Thanks to all Brits. You are not forgotten.

when Paul does the second woo ooh, the whole song goes into orbital overdrive.
It's been said that the Beatles had more influence on music world-wide than any other source.
Can't wait to see you guys react to the new Beatles song, Now and Then, that came out last week. Yes that's right, and new Beatles song! I won't give away anything else here, but let's just say that it tugs at the emotional heartstrings.

One of my favorite McCartney tracks. I'm sure you'll listen to John's new/old song Now and Then.
The bass line in this song is the most incredible, bluesy, batch of notes. It is delicious!
The best .. music ever
Jay & Amber, you'll love their "I Want To Hold Your Hand" and "Let It Be"!!!!!
Cool that you noted the scratchiness in Paul’s voice. He got to the studio first everyday for about a week to scream a take of the song until he got the sound he wanted.
Pauls voice here is ridiculous. Its just soul.
Now and then the new beatles song released on November 2, 2023. In the making for more than 30 years.awesome and beautiful.john le nonsense voice and the beatles
From my favorite Beatle album, Abbey Road. I think Paul Needed to take a Ricola lozenge after that performance!😅 A good night for your reactions tonight, 3 for 3. Thanks guys.😎
Exactly my thought! 3 great ones I must vibe to with them, lol!
One of my favorite McCartney vocals along with Maybe I'm Amazed. 🤘
According to the Beatles Bible, Paul sang and played piano, John played guitar, George played bass, Ringo on drums, Billy Preston on organ. John, Paul, and George all sang backing vocals as well.
In this song Paul plays piano, George plays bass and John guitar
So fortunate to have been one of the millions in my generation to have been taught our ABCs by the Beatles. Anticipating every new album release, we would unwrap them like a priceless gift & spend hours being amazed of all the new places they would take us. They never disappointed....✌️♥️🎶🎤🎸

@@priyaxo8116 You're right. George did play the bass on this one.
@@priyaxo8116👨🏻🦱 Yes, that is true, I should have clarified that!!! 🤦🏻♂️ Being a bass player I tend to combine those two together when talking about Sir Paul; the focus here was his vocals. Sorry for the "misinformation" !✌🏼😃
I’m a straight male 65 , I fell in love iafter watching the movies in the 60 s , so much fun
Fun fact: McCartney ALSO drummed on this song. :)
Paul practiced and practiced to get his voice for this song❤ 60 yes been in 💕 with paul
Y’all have to do their new song! It’s wonderful.
I grew up with the Beatles, and This song just brought out emotions... Paul was a great screamer !!
Ringo is so unique for many reasons, one of which he is left handed but he is playing a right handed kit and always has. He leads with his left so he can’t rotate from left to right like a right handed player could on that same drum kit.
I loved playing this song in our band in the 1960's I played the BASS LINE on my Hoffner Beatle Bass
This was Paul utilizing his Little Richard voice. You can go back to his spot-on versions of Richard's "Long Tall Sally" and "Kansas City/Hey-Hey-Hey-Hey" and then his own rave-ups starting with the Beatles' "I'm Down." I read somewhere that John liked the song and was hoping Paul would let him sing it, but Paul went into the studio before the others arrived for several days to do that vocal and get it right. He could only do a take or two at a time I bet.
The Beatles met Richard when they were still gigging in Hamburg and he was passing through town with his band (among the band members was a very young Billy Preston.) Richard used to brag later that he'd "made" the Beatles, and Paul certainly acknowledged the influence of Richard's vocal style.
Yes!!
Gotta react to the Beatles newest song Now And Then !
Have To Do It With The VIDEO!! Very touching!!A Must See!!!
One of the best Beatles songs, from arguably their best album (Abbey Road).
My second favorite Beatles album.
Revolver being no. 1 for me. Rubber soul 3, Sgt. Pepper 4, A Hard Days Night 5.
Magical Mystery Tour would be up there but it’s more like a compilation album, not really an official Beatles album.
@@pjg58x I think my top two are "Abbey Road" and "Rubber Soul."
@@BillGraper mine too! Great music minds think alike 😗🎵
One of the best vocal performances in music history imo
Not many people not this but truth be told....this is Paul asking why John wants to leave him in 1969.....true story
You know, this track has been added to the new remaster / remix of The Beatles: Blue 1967-1970 compilation, which also closes with the new "Now And Then" track! 🙂
I became a studio drummer because of Ringo. People who aren't musically inclined like to say that he got lucky being in The Beatles. Yeah? Listen to that snare work at 2:28, when he does 32nd beats on that snare, which is hard enough! But pay attention to how he's accenting certain beats to the point where he swings those 32nd beats. Think he got lucky? Think he couldn't do that again? Listen at 5:20. He does it again. And this is just one example. Ringo was a monster drummer back in the day.
Just a reminder that Paul McCartney sang lead on their cover of "Long Tall Sally".
and though Paul usually played bass, most of the Abbey Road album songs by Paul was accompanied by George Harrison on bass.
More often than not you like the last one best . that's what makes the Beatles special
You can't go wrong with The Beatles. You just don't do their acoustics and love songs enough though. It is their romantic side that will make you realize their true brilliance. Soft, sweet, romantic. You are really missing out on their best work.
“I’ll Follow the Sun” and “Mother Nature’s Son” are two of their most gorgeous, underrated gems.
Songs such as And I Love Her, In My Life, Here There And Everywhere, among others.
Have they done Something?
@@pjg58x Absolutely those tunes. As well as:
Love Me Do
And I Love Her
In My Life
Here, There, and Everywhere
Do You Want to Know a Secret,
Norwegian Wood
Hide Your Love Away
Michelle
They did a ton of romance tunes. Too many to list.
Romance is where the Beatles really shine, and it is strange that RSR only picks up on it when Lennon is in his solo career.
"If I fell", "And I love her" are two of the best old softies by The Beatles. You name 2 songs and 2 more pop into your head, just get all of their albums and be done.
How about listening to an entire Beatles album?
Or watching the movie A Hard Days Night?
The Beatles is the best Band of the World for me😊❤
I was born in 1960, when Sgt pepper came out my ma bought me the album. I still thank gpd for that. Now my 3 yr old grandson loves them als
Majestuosos The Beatles.
Idk if you guys have listened to “helter skelter”, but mccartneys vocals and range on that song is something u wouldn’t expect from a Beatles…I would highly recommend
PAPERBACK WRITER,
THE BALLAD OF JOHN AND YOKO,
TAXMAN,
and Ringo vocalizing his joy in the OCTOPUS' GARDEN are some really good songs still left in the Beatles vault. I love OH! DARLING. It gets straight to the point, and Paul sings with some real passion.
Enjoy Veterans Day. And God Bless our Troops !!
Wow those are terrible recommendations. There are so many better songs they haven't reacted to.
I grew up through the Beatles era (literally). Always a fan, but not a real fan until about 1975. Here's one: I first heard "Ballad of John and Yoko" in about 1980 and I...hated it! Fast forward to today, and my "favorite" Beatles song is *probably*......."Ballad of John and Yoko"! It's too involved to explain it in the RUclips comments section, but it's true, in total honesty.
@@DerekDerekDerekDerekDerekDerek I agree except paperback writer
Paul certainly was showing his Little Richard side on this one, especially the falsetto "whooo" 's.
his falsetto was emulating Little Richard, one of his big, early influences :)
Funny that you are playing Paul McCartney's today. You just played the Billy Joel video, and Paul and Ringo can be seen standing outside in the street. They were visiting New York and Billy asked them to make quick little cameos in the video.
As for Oh Darling, Paul went into the studio everyday for a week and screamed the song just once per day so he wouldn't totally destroy his vocal cords and then recorded it after about a week.
That bass tho ❤
Thank you SO much!!
My favorite Beatles song of all-time!!.
I read somewhere that on this song Paul was on piano, John was on guitar, and George was on bass.
McCartney met the American photographer Linda Eastman in The Bag O'Nails club in London on 15 May 1967, while still with Asher. They met again at the launch party for the Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band on 19 May 1967. this was his love song to her, could not forget her, could not get her out of his mind. true love till she passed, together, they were.
This is true of all their records from Rubber Soul on but Abbey Road really does need to be heard as an album.
I've been waiting to watch your guys reaction to the final Beatles song "Now and Then" released last week on November 2nd, 2023. Please react to the music video when you guys do it. It seems like everyone, and I mean everyone has done a reaction to "Now and Then" already, except for you guys. Are you guys even aware that the Beatles released this new song? It's #1 on Spotify in the UK (knocking Taylor Swift down to the #2 position) and rising on all the world's music charts, so I would be shocked if you two, with almost half a million subscribers, are unaware of this new hit song by the fab four. Looking forward to your reaction, and hopefully, really soon while it's still current.
