Before the Porsche 935-78's debut in Hot Wheels Racing 2012's ROADRCR subseries, Porsche's were pretty rare in Hot Wheels retail premium lines. I think you had to go back the best part of a decade to find another Porsche in a retail premium Hot Wheels line. (I think there was one in Auto Affinity West Coast Customs in 2004 and, before that, a few in Hall of Fame 2003, and I know there was that fantastic four-car 50th anniversary Porsche set in 100% Hot Wheels.) I could be wrong but I don't remember Hot Wheels ever losing the Porsche license at any point in the past few decades so the drought of Porsches in retail premium series was really puzzling especially considering Porsche was well-represented in the not-quite-full-premium Speed Machines series as well as Hot Ones 2011-12 and Flying Customs 2013. But I think the Hot Wheels Mercedes-Benz premium drought was even longer, considering Mattel lost the Mercedes-Benz license for around half a decade in the early 2010s and, even after they got it back, Mattel seemed to put Mercedes-Benz in Matchbox more often than Hot Wheels until we finally started getting Mercedes-Benz in Car Culture.
Two Porsche castings from the 2000s that were both in Speed Machines 2010 but which never got a proper full-metal premium release that I'd love to see as premium Hot Wheels are the Carrera GT and the Porsche Cayman S. The older Cayman casting appeals to me a lot more than the new Fast & Furious version, possibly because the Cayman S is more, what's a good term, streamlined while the newer Cayman feels bulked up

I'm a big fan of porsche and I was lucky to find one in the early morning by accident, by just wanting to take a look at the raceday porche 935. Beautiful car imo.
Porsche is fun to collect. Not too many and not too less releases. However still some must have castings need to be done by Hotwheels in near future. 1. 928 2. 924 Carrera GT 3. 964 Turbo 4. 993 Turbo 5. 968 6. 936 Race Car 7. 908 Race Car
Road racer 935 @9:20 and boulevard 993 @16:42 are the only ones that elude me and for the price those go for they probably are going to remain difficult to obtain lol
a bit unrelated, but there are so many companies that hotwheels has barely touched in premium which bums me out, they do play a bit hard on favorites / doing the same premium castings over and over a lot isntead of exploring or making new cars in premium. feels bad to just see lots of the same brands and same casting represented. I feel like the biggest most baffling example to me that I have paid close attention to is Mazda. they only just made a premium miata with the mazdaspeed NB, but they have yet to make a premium NA or ND (I did see a leak somewhere for a premium NA finally though, cant find it anymore though so maybe not real?). They could easily make just ONE multipack or team transport either based around the miata which would guarantee to sell well or like an mx-5 cup team transport car, or just a general mazda pack with an rx-7, miata, mazda3 / mazdaspeed, etc. mazda is small but they arent THAT small to not get a single premium multipack or more frequent popular premium castings? theyve made the 787b, the cosmos sport, and then plenty of fast and furious rx-7s and 8s in premium, but theyve barely touched the miata which has only been surging in popularity among younger and mid / older people nowadays and surely the mazda3 / mazdaspeed is more known and popular than the cosmo sport? I dont understand the lack of mazda or why HW makes so many of the lesser known mazdas like the repu and rx-3 as castings rather than their most well known modern road cars, meanwhile other companies get countless recastings / new prints and new cars. a tad frustrating seeing similar companies not get much attention, but it is just a small colletible toy and beggars cant be choosers. I make sure to buy any mazda HW or matchbox they make though, any little bit they do helps.

Unpopular opinion: HW chase models are extremely dull and have no "zing" at all. Boring all black with no details, but people still keep saying they're cool just because they're rare and expensive. Regular versions are WAY better in every single way.

Porsche engineered the 500E. But its a Mercedes design. The styling, packaging etc that Hot Wheels replicates is all Mercedes.

Always liked the Boxster mainline, I think it could also be a top pick as a premium

The 944 wheels work great but the colour doesn’t work at all - they should retain the wheels and do a cognac colour. That’s so period correct!
