This ship is absolutely fantastic! Yes the citadel is out there and quite vulnerable, but a good player can defend it. I did the damage record of 292k in it. Fantastic support ship.
I just finished the campaign yesterday and went with the Marlborough. My favorite ship is the Nelson so I figured I'd like this boat and I absolutely love it!!!
Been looking forward to your take on this one Spartan. As much as I love the Italian BB's I chose the Marlborough as my KGV is statistically my best ship...and who doesn't like to light a fire eh? The fast reload is great, I was concerned about the low % chance of fire compared even with the commander buffs than with say the KGV, Nelson or the Conq but as you say you have 16 guns. Just don't get the old girl sideways!
It is a hard choice like it was ethier easy to be destroyed or not so good on accuracy so I just flipped a quarter and I had chosen Marco Polo it does do alot of good damages with the AP I haven't tried the SAP yet.

Battleships have a higher skill cap since they have basically no utility and are very dependent on positioning and angling. You have to screw up pretty consistently hard to die in a destroyer plus most dds have a "get out of jail free" card with popping smoke and running away. Destroyers are the easiest, most forgiving type to play unless they paid recklessly. Battleships are almost always punished for even slight errors or sometimes not making any mistakes at all, always risk something for damage, and can be countered by all other ship types.

Only when ap doesnt wanna pen i try to roast their asses, the reload and her focus on HE were the main reasons i chose over MP. and as you said, when the AP works oh boy she slappin hard. Almost dev struck a full health Iowa that went broadside and regularly blap Kansas' and Montanas with citadels
I didn't realize I was going against Spartan Elite43 until just before I was going to take those torps from the Mainz. As soon as that happened I turned to my girlfriend & said I really hope he doesn't tear me apart in a video. Pleasantly surprised at not being called an Idiot. I absolutely was going to stay on the Battleship until the Mainz presented itself for a guaranteed kill before I was sunk.
I’m stuck at milestone 33 in the campaign. Any tips for completing it for a beginner? I want to at least get to the point where I unlock a few of the commendations to make buying admiralty backing worth it.
Same reason battleship shells hitting destroyers or cruisers bow on somehow still overpen 300-500 feet of ship. I get it being possible to overpen a broadside destroyer or cruiser like 50 feet wide but the entire length of the ship? Wargaming "logic".
I wouldnt say it has a high skill ceiling because I dont see it as something crazy but yeah if you're not paying attention to who has your broadside you may get sent back to port very quickly.
I've just got the Marlborough and I already think she needs a buff. Lacking the fire starting ability of the KGV and her AP just feels weak. That being said I'm running Cunningham for dispersion. I just think she compares very poorly with the Maine.
Absolutely loving Temeraire and absolutely hated this piece of garbage. Its nice having so many guns but being a tier 6 body and having 14" guns, its trAsh.
Very bad ship, i had some +180k but she only shine when you top tier + have spot + good teammate. If you get focus by 2 or 3 ship : done.. Too weak, you cant angle vs 3 people and in 1mn you dead. 18km is one of the biggest weak point of the ship at T8/legendary. Its not a ship to carry a game, republique and mysashi are way better. Even marco polo slightly better. But in the right circumstances, you have good and very fun game.
With Marlborough you need range and dispersion. Without Nelson, for me, Cunningham was the better choice. Malborough is a horrible close quarters ship.
He and fire chances are broken in this game, another he spam british battleship, ap is not bad but the he hit hard, I don’t like that at all but anyway nice video and good games

I usually play with destroyers so more maneuverable battleships are just easier to play with so I think this would be a great ship for me

Madden is a good Ftp choice to get the extra heals
Yeah, AL Nelson makes this ship slap better. I had a 1v1 against a republique and got him before he could get my side love this ships rate of fire

Yes AL Nelson has Master Mechanic which at level 16 gives you 2 extra heals.

You can’t get Belfast? The Og Belfast can only be obtained by crates. And the Belfast ‘43 was a campaign ship like half a year ago.
