for everyone who is getting answer of hw ques as -2: (CORRECT ANS: 2) 1. sum of squares of numbers (or reciprocal) cant be negative. 2. in the ques , the coefficient of x is 0, so sign change would happen with the constant term i.e. 1(= -1) now try it again, u will get the answer.

Hey but a+b+c=1 and ab+bc+ca=0 and abc=-1
So a^-2+b^-2+c^-2 = (a+b+c)²-2(ab+bc+ca)/(abc)² so shouldn't the answer be 1?
