- DEUTSCH ab 10:40 - Our #AutomannTalks of the recently revealed Audi S8 plus delivering 605 hp and 750 Nm of torque out of the well-known 4.0 TFSI V8 (weight: 1.945kg). While engine, transmission and rear differential setup are almost identical with the RS6 / RS7 Performance this car is actually about 50 kg lighter than those two. The Sportsexhaust (Sportabgasanlage) comes standard with the S8 plus but of course its no match to the raw and sparky RS6 Performance exhaust. One the other hand this exhaust sound is deeper and more powerful, yet very settled most of the time. Sehr interessant. Ich war schon von der Performance des S8 fasziniert. Das kann man sich einfach nicht vorstellen wie unglaublich diese Kiste nach Vorne marschiert.

Ich finde den S8 Plus erstaunlich. Dass der sehr sehr gut ist, was die Fahrleistungen angeht, da braucht man nicht zu diskutieren. Hätte ich jetzt die Wahl, hätte ich sicherlich diesen genommen. Das sind ja 235kg weniger im Vergleich zu meinem A8L 4.2TDi. Selbst wenn ich jetzt mit Stage 2 unterwegs bin mit ca. 520PS/1195NM. Ich kann mich mit deinem eher nur bis 100km/h messen, dann ist der S8 Plus weg. Das einzige Vorteil ist dass ich bei 300km/h bei 3400U/Min bin, also wenigstens was gewonnen :P und wenn der Tank bei dir zu Ende geht, dann fahre ich noch ein wenig weiter ;) Tolles Auto, gute Fahrt!

What about the new Panamera Turbo? It's impressive how the S8 Plus achieves these numbers on a class above the new E63S.
Even comparing with the GTC4Lusso and the new Continental Supersports which has more than 100 over the S8 Plus.
I don't think the new Panemara Turbo is faster either, at least not on the Autobahn. Cornering capabilities are of course better in the Panamera or the E63S.

It's not and will never be better than Mercedes S class that's the fact. See the other comparisons of A8, 7 series and S class on RUclips and you will see that mercedes is the best in its segment.

The S8 is fast, but it's nowhere near the same level of WHP/W ratio of an M5. It would only get beat when having bad traction.

i thought the S8 plus is 2090kg comparing to RS7 is 2050kg and RS6 2060kg, from where did u got the info that its being lighter than these two

Bist Du immer noch zufrieden mit den S8 Plus? Überlege mir einen guten gebrauchten zu kaufen, die Preise sind ja traumhaft. Hattest Du Probleme? Machen die Keramikscheiben Probleme? Ein Tausch soll ca. 20.000€ kosten!

Hey guys, i have a question: is it logical to own a 3 year old, under 50K km audi s8 plus? What will be the usual problems if i aim to use it more 3 years too? Will it annoy me with way-more service fees? Any chronical problems? Thank you. (Btw, i live in Germany)
Dokładnie taki kupiłem, po 3 letnim leasingu, z przebiegiem 42 tysiące. Mam go do dzisiaj, jestem zadowolony. Wszystko, zależy od tego ile kilometrów rocznie zamierzasz nim jeździć?

Was glaubst du bei welcher Geschwindigkeit er im 8.Gang in den Begrenzer kommt wenn er bei 300 erst bei 4800 ist?
Ich denke der Wind ist dann die entscheide Komponente nicht die Übersetzung. Mehr als 305 km/h läuft er eh nicht, das dann aber in Gang 6, 7 und 8 ;)

S8 is S class / 7 series rival, I don't think you should compare it with cars like M5, E class etc...
+wordpress You are right, usually it's a rival to S-Class and 7-Series. But if you look at power and weight it's more comparable to M5, RS6 or E63...since the S8 plus is fully made out of Aluminium and S63 and M760i weigh at least 150kg more.

Lieblingsauto :D wie sieht es eigentlich mit der Versicherung und den Steuern? :) Und ist das ihrer ?
Steuern sind ja eh nie so wild, Versicherung ist in VK 29, also schon ziemlich hoch. Wenn man allerdings ein paar Schadensfreie Jahre vorweisen kann ist aber auch das nicht mehr so wild, entschiedner Kostentreiber sind da eher die Spritkosten, die Wartung und natürlich die Leasing-Rate.

Tolles Video. Der Audi S8 plus ist ein Wahnsinns Auto. Ich fahre den Audi RS6 4G und bin damit absolut zufrieden. Der Spagat zwischen Comfort und Performance ist unglaublich. Einen weiteren Unterschied gibt es noch vom S8 zu den RS Modellen. Das ESP ist nur bei den RS Modellen Komplett deaktivierbar vor allem jetzt im Winter ganz lustig :-).

Sehr cooles Auto der RS6! Querdynamisch natürlich nochmal ne andere Liga als der S8 plus, wobei beide sich aus meiner Sichtweite gleich schwer bzw. leicht anfühlen. Hast du auch das Sportdifferential? Das macht aus beiden Autos nochmal spürbar mehr, selbst wenn man gar nicht driften will sondern nur "heckbetont" aus der Kurve kommen möchte ;)
Danke. Ja hab das Dynamic Packet Plus geordert :-). Keramikbremse, Sport Differenzial, VMax 305 km/h, Dynamiklenkung, Wankstabilieserung und was da sonst noch so alles drin ist. Muss demnächst mal ein Video machen wenn ich Zeit habe.
Bin leider noch nie S8 gefahren. Würde mich auch echt mal interessieren wie der sich so fährt...?

Sehr interessantes Video, wie immer! Die Leistungsdaten des S8 plus haben mich schon immer fasziniert. Noch unglaublicher ist natürlich der S8 in der MTM Talladega S Version, mit 802PS. 0-100 in 3,1 Sekunden und 0-200 in 9,5 - das muss man sich mal vorstellen. Meinst du, du kommst nicht mal zu Testzwecken an einen Talladega ran? Wäre ne geile Sache, dein Statement zu dem Wagen zu hören.

how does the new panamera turbo with 4.0 v8 biTurbo sit vs this s8+? multimedia and cockpit-wise - this interface is very outdated. i'm quite surprised that the new audi interface was featured on the lower priced cars like tt, q7, a4, etc and they kept selling premium cars like this s8+ with an old interface
rdrrua because all the models you say are new....... and this s8 model is 7 years old with a 2014 restyling. ij this year will come out new a8 !!
Haven't driven the new Panamera Turbo yet, but engine-wise I think the S8 plus still plays in the same league! Of course from an infotainment perspective the S8 plus is outdated but it isn't a real disadvantage like you would think. Everything works very well and is easy to control, online traffic, and Audi connect stuff, HUD and other stuff is still on board, so nothing that you really miss expect Apple Car Play or similar.
yeah, but i just dont digg the marketing strategy which rolls out the cheaper cars with new technology and interface tweaks to the market first while all the performance models lag behind for at least a coupe of years afterwards. i have to admit - i see that around others brands all the time.
+rdrrua I guess there are technical reasons the new technology will not fit into those "older" cars like A6,7,8...the A3 was already build on the modular infotainment infrastructure so it was more cost effective to portable the new technology in. A4, A5 and Q5 are all new as well.

+Marko Madic The Alpina B7 definitely is a competitor but coming back to the topic of weight it weighs 160 kg more than the S8 plus and is larger.
Well I'd wouldn't count this as a diadvantage as long the weight goes into noise insolation etc.

Dein Kinderfahrrad hat keine Knöpfe, stimmt.
Der Innenraum ist halt schon ein paar Jahre alt. Das hat mit Premium oder kein Premium nichts zu tun.
Premium ist, was dir die Werbung vorgaukelt. Sinnlos darüber zu diskutieren, wenn du es nicht verstehst, wie die ihr Geld einnehmen.
Minimalismus ist hier das Stichwort, aber mühsam es euch zu erklären! Das hat auch nix mit dem Alter des Fahrzeugs zu tun, da es bei Audi seit jeher immer viel zu viele Schalter und knöpfe gab (im Vergleich zur Konkurrenz)!
Ich verstehe das Audi der Marketing-Weltmeister ist (Quattro, Vorsprung durch Technik, aber bei Innovationen immer hinten dran :D), das brauchst du mir nicht erzählen!
