You are not weird...you are my Menopause Teacher! 😍
I must forward this and beg my beautiful and sweet DIL and my protective sister to watch with an open mind and heart.
Wow! I have had different women say ALL those things to me...my mother saying she toughed (and is still, at 85, toughing) it out. I WISH women could/would sit and talk positively about menopause. It could/would certainly be fun.
Menopausal women suffering from the diseases of menopause. Yes...my mother with painful hips, my SIL with painful hips and many more. Yes, they still deny it is caused by Estrogen loss. I might as well bang my head on a wall than talk to them.
Yes, you make my menopause manageable with the education I have learned from YOU...an unbiased professional. I am looking forward to my consultation with you! 👏🏻😍

Since realization that I'm experiencing perimenopause for about a month now I notice that none of my female friends over 47-ish ever say anything about it. I will be 50 real soon and was kind of expecting a friend or 2.might help somewhat prepare me but that's not happening expect for one person a neighbor who's involved in many of the same outside activities as me. Around the same age she went through premature menopause. I mentioned that I think I'm getting hot flashes she asked about periods I said I missed a few. She's very supportive and respectful What women do tell me is that they had heart attacks many different life styles and health conditions all over 45yrs. I'm connecting dots thank you so much for this wonderful education

Menopause is THE most neglected topic on earth, by the medical profession, by the wellness industry, by society, and by women themselves.
I am the first person to ever provide an unbiased menopause education (that isn't trying to sell a product) to women. And I am the only person doing so. That's really a shame.
The fact that women don't talk about menopause is one of the many things I'm trying to change.

I announced it it to everyone around me. Closest friends were very supportive. But I did get a nasty comment from a colleague: "Just let nature take its course, don't put crap in your body." So I stopped talking to her about it. Not telling her I'm on HRT because I know she'll judge me. Sad, but hey, you can't change people who think in black and white.

Very thought provoking. I just thought menopause meant stopping your period and I could not wait for menopause! But you have taught us about menopause and the health risks that go along with it. I knew I would not get hot flashes and I never did. But I am glad you are educating women that menopause is not about hot flashes! It really annoys me since I never had them!
The brain washing of women and all people in general about menopause is frustrating to me it must be super frustrating for you!
I do tell people I have been in menopause since 2014. People act like I said I have the Wuhan CCP Corona virus. (thats what Chinese people call it)
It does bother me how women try to scare other women and try to act like experts on menopause when they are ignorant and angry.
Women seem to act like each others enemies in general.
I am not a person who is willing to deal with people in denial about anything. So I just say what I have to say and let them freak out which is what they usually do! I have referred your videos to other women who claim they watch it but it is obvious they don't. I don't get the denial. It doesn't change anything!
This is a very important video thank you!

I wish I could say that I am embracing menopause but unfortunately that would be untrue. Although I feel a ton better after starting on the estradial patch (thanks to your education), I still struggle in many ways to come to terms with it. Despite that, I know that I am very lucky to have been given the privilage of extra time to discover what it means to be a woman at this stage of life when so many are not. I hope one day I too will be able to embrace it. Thank you for all that you do.

I'm 43, perimenopausal naturally (I got my period at the age of 10). My youngest son is 4 (conceived naturally). It's just mental. Thank goodness I have an excellent gyn, my son's godmother and friend. That really helps. For me, the key thing is to talk about it and read as much as possible, or watch the good doctor Taylor here. I had to make space and time for it in my mind, so it became a normal subject. Hope you will find your inner peace somehow.

Thank you so much for your wonderful work, dear Dr. Taylor.
The past years I shared all this knowledge with my friends. Some of them use it to their benefit, others reject it politely. I watch them suffering and I find it difficult to see. How is it possible that smart and well educated women make the informed choice to ‘toughen it out’? They kind of change in the process of menopause too....Their bubbliness and mental agility disappears. The fright of developing cancer seems huge.
Could you shine your light on that issue?

It's shocking, really. Women are in such denial on this topic. I published a video in denial (Video 62) addressing this. That's one of the things I'm trying to change.
This is the education that all women deserve. Yet, they've never had it, and I am the only person on Planet Earth giving it to them. And, as you've been, most of them still shun it.
We need to start a menopause revolution.

I am pleased to say I tried to do something to raise awareness of menopause among counsellors. I was studying a graduate diploma of counselling, and was required to pick an essay topic for a subject called "counselling issues and contexts".
So I chose the topic "Recommendations for Counsellors Working with Women Transitioning into Menopause". And my introductory paragraph went like this:
The menopause is a natural, normal, transitional event in every woman’s lifecycle, yet sadly this significant event in a woman's lifecycle continues to remain poorly understood. The menopause has also been known as ‘change of life’. And it is a change of life alright. Particularly when one considers how quickly and surreptitiously a range of distressing symptoms can take a woman off-guard, even quite early in life. The menopause itself is a significant event in an often lengthy change process known as the ‘menopausal transition’ (MT). In fact the MT can trigger multifaceted symptoms up to 10 years prior to the actual menopause, impacting a woman not just physically, but also emotionally, mentally and behaviourally. Hence, the MT can potentially be a very disturbing, distressing, and upsetting process for an otherwise fit, healthy woman. This essay shows why counsellors need to adapt treatment for women in MT.
Firstly, the MT process is explained. Secondly, this essay highlights the critical importance the counsellors’ own attitudes and accurate knowledge of MT. Thirdly, it is asserted that counsellors need to understand the psychological aspects affecting women during the MT. Fourthly, it is recommended that counsellors develop skills to fully explore the existential self-identity meanings for women in the MT. Fifthly, it is recommended that holistic, biopsychosocial approaches be implemented to fully capture and understand the socio-cultural influences of each woman’s MT experience. Various recommendations are offered for counsellors to build a therapeutic alliance and develop more effective treatments for this cohort.

I wonder what sort of reasonable accommodations might be considered in the work place. I know, like pregnancy, it isn't considered a disability but good grief! I've often thought at a minimum flexible hours for insomnia! A fan for hot flashes and some free gingko biloba next to the coffee pot for memory improvement. I'm partly joking and partly completely serious. Interestingly enough, I mentioned the notion of accommodations in the workplace to other women and they were quick to dismiss the idea with the fear that it would give people even more reason to discredit their ability to contribute in the workplace. This video really resonated with me. When more women of this mindset, assume leadership positions, we cab create more opportunity for positive change. I have often sat at the conference table, the only women at the table and looked around and just tried to imagine how the opposite sex would function through such symptoms.

I use bioidentical estradiol with estriol cream and it works really well for me but as soon as I add progesterone in any amount I become very tired hungry depressed and just feel way off not myself at all I have played around with doses and really thought it was just me but then I happened upon so many others who have the same reaction I am very perplexed what to do now

It’s a sad fact, but for all the “slogans” that you see about women supporting each other, they usually sabotage each other, especially in the workplace. I’ve passed your videos along to almost every female friend and relative I know and most of them took a quick look at it, told me your voice was too screechy, and gave me a quick answer about why they didn’t need to watch it. Of course I could tell by their answer that they knew nothing about menopause. Some people want to be healthy and educated, some do not. It is frustrating. But I find this is true about most things in society today... 😕
