- West View Kmart Closing Update #2. Just 6 days remained when I filmed this video Tuesday evening. I couldn't believe how much it emptied out in just a couple of days between visits.

I'm from Rochester NY. On the day this store is set to close we lost our last Sears. We now have neither Sears or Kmart anywhere near us now.
Honestly the story U shared of your personal history with and at this Kmart is both awesome and very sad!! Now I've never been to the state or the store is in but seeing the store in such disarray is very depressing. Seeing all the cool finds U found is kickass. I've been to 17 US states, I live in Oregon and nothing past Central time zone including Alaska and Hawaii, also been to both Canada and Mexico on family vacations growing up, and when we went shopping my mom always would find the closet Kmart stores to our motel rooms and it was always cool seeing how each store looked, size, with setup and layout along with the snack bar back in the day, the eatery, K cafe and or whatever it was called and later years Little Ceazers Pizza. Now I know the Kmarts in both Canada and Mexico were either closed down and or bought out and changed over to whatever store chains both countries in the mid to late 90s.. Those stores were really different cause they sold items U normally wouldn't see in the stores in the states but normal everyday items for the locals. Some had the stores PA up super loud others low but hearing the songs and pages in Spanish in Mexico and then in Canada the same musik and pages in English, French and another language I didn't know was so cool...A few times we were there when they had the Blue Light Specials was cool I had or my mom and or sister asked what the pages was or were cause we saw them moving the cart with the blue light and we so knew we were in for a treat seeing and hearing the item(s) on special, how long U had and the other shoppers go nuts it was kinda like seeing an auctioneer speed talking... I was sad when they stopped doing the old school blue light specials, when they revamped it, it sucked!! Anyway thank U for the video Wally and keep up the awesome videos sir!!

Go to Sidney, NY. There is an abandoned 70s K-Mart (the label scar is the italic K) next door to their current location, which won't be going anywhere soon judging by how busy it was.

Some of Fondest memories I have of this place are my Mother and Grandmother taking us here as they shopped every Friday in the late 90’s and early 2000’s. I’d play the GameCube demo they had here while they shopped... unfortunately neither of them are with us today as I watch one of the last places we shared so many memories die as well.

A couple of my local Kmarts closed a couple months ago. It was sad. I worked at the one when it closed I moved to the other and now they are both gone. But I live in moline Illinois.

I like U-Haul, but I feel they could have gone into a different Kmart store in Pittsburgh like Shaler or Moon Township, instead of going into a Kmart that is still operating.
Makeshiftlake35 Or Parkway Center. They don't need an easy customer enterence since it's just a warehouse, and better yet they'd have a highway exit for that one. The loading dock is in the back, but if they wanted they could easily rebuild the old tunnel road without the tunnel for easier access to loading docks.
The same thing happened to the kmart near me in Hudson, Fl. I hate passing by it and seeing that stinkin uhaul sign on the kmart building. It really sucks honestly -_-

I been in a Sears Saturday that wasn't closing. It was sad they really went downhill. Hulan mall ft worth. All the Kmarts Kmarts closed in 03.

That garden center definitely has the look of a former Auto center with the way the doors are layed out. The sink in the "sercret bathroom" has an auto style look to it as well. And that pin is an awesome score. I found a Sears pin just like it in a desk we had gotten back in November from a Sears auto center clear out we did.

There are three Kmarts in Massachusetts
Sears....three weeks ago my husband got a letter from them stating they will lower his credit card limit if he doesn’t purchase something in 30 days. Sears is gone in my area - NY Capital region and Hudson Valley...Kingston and Albany. So sad that these great stores are closing .
Sadly, both Kmart stores here in Colorado Springs have closed. The one on Powers Blvd. has been closed for quite some time and the one on N. Nevada has been gone since April of last year. However, there is a Kmart store in Pueblo and it is still open and operating. My local Sears store on Briargate Blvd. at the Chapel Hills Mall also just closed recently last Sunday, as well as the one down on Southgate Blvd. and the one in Pueblo at the Pueblo Mall.
There are only 3 K-marts left in Illinois, and only 2 in Iowa. Crazy to think how big this company once was.

I remember the old Brown Kmart carts.
I remember when Kmart had silver shopping carts with red handles and red seat cover in the seat of the shopping cart. Then, I remember the brown shopping carts. I, also remember the turquoise shopping carts. I live in the Detroit, Michigan area and some Kmarts had brown shopping carts and some Kmarts had turquoise shopping carts. Then, the last of the shopping carts were silver metal with red handles and a red seat cover in the seat of the shopping cart.

Pretty much all of these were stuck in the Big Kmart late-90's renovations.

Another sad story about another Kmart. My city just created a planning district centered around the mall. They will not allow u haul to go where Sears was. Completely a waste of good retail space. They just look out of place. These won't attract people to shop.
Wallie you said it best, "This is Unreal." All of what's happening to KMart and Sears is UNREAL. This store seemed to empty out fast.
Another epic video, but why do seeing these videos and dying mall videos make me cry? I'm such a MUSH> Could be I'm sorry for all the loyal workers who dedicated their energies to KMart and Sears and other stores just to see their jobs evaporate. And it makes me angry because it's not fair.

Actully, my old Kmart building is still up. The old Kmart moved across the street when the mall got redone . big lots is in the old building but the newer Kmart at at the mall is closed year ago. And nobody is using it yeat. The old Kmart still have the old celling bc you can see the giant circles for vent. Yes but I giving my Kmart store from. South Carolina.

Wallie, I've never seen a video for Findlay Mall and now I've seen two in one night! This one is better narrated and more descriptive, but both are worth watching, this one doesn't show the unique split anchor, but it has a Pittsburgh joke at the very end that I didn't get lol, anywho I think you'll enjoy both for pre-game scouting, while noting that they aren't pro level like you!
