SAND DUNES & FRESHWATER LAGOONS | BEST OF BRAZIL | LENCOIS MARANHENSES NATIONAL PARK

Lencois Maranhenses National Park is located in the state of Maranhao in the northeastern part of Brazil. Formed over thousands of years ago, these white sand dunes cover a vast 338,000 acres. The landscape is constantly changing due to the winds. The valleys of the dunes fill with freshwater from the rainy season typically January - June. The lagoons do not drain due to the impermeable rock beneath the sandy surface. We spent three days exploring! Come along as we explore this breathtaking national park!

This is one of the most beautiful place of Brazil. Near Lençóis Maranhenses there are Parnaiba Delta and Jericoacoara beautiful places also.
