I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
How long have you owned the X730 and are you still happy with it? If you were buying today, which would you buy? I'm seriously considering the X738 series.
@@rso1411 best mower i ever owned , also feels like I’m on one of my bigger farm tractors. Very comfortable and quick and easy to maneuver around windmill, trees, and landscaping. The only thing i think i might like better is all wheel steer. Had John Deere drop off a zero turn for me and my wife to try out and we like the x730 much better. Personal preference i guess but much more relaxing when your mowing a 3 acre lawn.
i JUST BOUGHT AN X380 LAST YEAR TO REPLACE MY 24 YEAR OLD LX176. AND I LOVE THE 380. IF ITS BUILT AS TOUGH AS THE LX176 WAS I WILL NEVER HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER, UNLESS I GET THE ITCH FOR A NEW DEERE AGAIN LOL.
This isn't a lawn tractor. This is a garden tractor,it weighs in at nearly 1,500 pounds and shaft driven PTO system, that can run a 54"inch snowblower,48"inch reversible tiller, also this tractor can run the 45 series front end loader that can pickup 550 pounds of weight.
What do you mean there's an air cooled engine? In the 700 series...no, there isn't. All are water cooled. Power steering comes on all 700 series...standard.
@@4gauge10 It looks like the X700 hasn't been offered since 2012. The base model in 2019 is the X730 according to Deere's website. And the X730 is liquid cooled.
Any one of those mowers will cut 6ft tall grass go through the thickest shrub and leave the finest mulch as long as they are using the Kavli blades no bull. Trying to tell everyone!
The X734 is a great option for properties with delicate grass when the tractor is used as a mower specifically. The X739 does come with a more aggressive tires on the front and rear, but will allow the user to mow with it as well as use if for other jobs such as snow removal and tilling, for example. They both come with an on-demand rear differential lock, so the operator can control this as needed. When not engaged, the rear tires will not be locked and allow for minimal turf damage.
@Ronny the X734 tractor only starts at $10,499. The price of the deck and any attachments will vary. For example the 60" mower deck is $2,100. A total of $12.599 + tax.
It would have been nice to have bought a X500 series for our property. However, the dealer where I live could care less if they sold you anything or not. Because of a poorly run business I had to go with another brand.

Once you get into power steering and hydraulic lift you won't want that x380.
Make sure the deck is lined up right when putting the deck back on the x739.
This lawn tractor is like the clod buster in the rc world.

I am deciding between the 734 and 739. I am afraid the 739 tires will tear up my lawn. What are your thoughts on the tires?

I stopped by my local dealer yesterday and test drove the x730 and x739. Going with the x739

Will cost you lot to repair if done at a dealer.
Admittedly a nice machine but more of a lawn and snow tractor. Takes big bucks to add a 3 pt hitch and pto to make them of any use in a garden.
The prices please
About 10k
$13,000 with a cut deck and a rear 3 point hitch. 0% interest right now.
I bet the seat still cracks
I bet they have replacement seats.
Actually the seats hold up pretty good , going on 5 years mine still looks new !
How much?
