That is my neighbourhood (Amager, Copenhagen) and I had my studio in the same building as the one Anders has his studio at...funny and strange to see my own neighbourhood in an Arturia commercial :) What an awesome producer he is!!
Glad to see someone of his caliber talking about wanting the music to give the listener goosebumps. As opposed to making catchy hooks that stick in your head or are marketable because they follow the basic moneymaking formula that all the mainstream "artists" use.
I've been following this guy for about twenty years now, since his first ever Trentemøller EP deep house release in 2003 with tracks In Progress and Le champagne. Musical genius from another Galaxy. Really big influence for the past 2 decades for my own music.
Trentemøller is a legend, one of my all time stand out producers. Always Something Better (Trentemøller Remix) is one of my all time favourite electronic pieces.
4:53 Freudian slip of the MicroKorg there😗But it makes sense, everything he said he likes about the ease and quality of the MicroFreak the MicroKorg also shares.
What a great guy. His stuff is so melancholic. Whether you like his stuff or not he does sound a very pure musician who doesn’t get sucked into technology so deep that it disrupts his creative intuitive process
Trentemøller is the artist that seems to always be responsible for the tracks in playlists that I wake up to at around 3 minutes because they have evolved to massive proportions. Love, love his approach to building songs! I just wish he’d come do a gig in Finland already. Been waiting forever!
Halt and Catch Fire is my favorite show, the theme song gives me goosebumps every time. My Stellar edition is arriving tomorrow, I can't wait. It's my first hardware synth.
Thank you Arturia, for this interview! I love what trentmoller does, and when I heard the sounds of the microfreak, I got one , telling me that I would be able, with this amazing synth, to create sounds like Trentmoller does!!!❤️❤️❤️
His first album, The Last Resort, has so many hidden textures that when I first got a good pair of speakers I thought my speakers were broken because I could hear tiny glitches I could never pick up on before. It's always a feast for the ears, always discovering.
the way you can set your route note and scale globally is great with this synth. f# route note and minor scale all day for me. i have found some issues with the freak though. when i put it through my korg kaos quad the effect do not work on it. something to do with the weird mono stuff the freak does. strange. i may do a post demonstrating it as i cant really explain it.
Into The Great Wide Yonder, Lost, Reworked/Remixed, this guy is a legend. Some songs sound like he's gone in and individually added completely different glitches and pops for every note in the entire song, like building a song painstakingly, one sample at a time and listening to it again and again to get that minimalist percussion perfect.
it's the meeting of a genius and a machine;) I just bought myself the modern cycles of elektron for kick and rhythm and the next purchase will be this microfreak! with a mixer.....i think i'm going to have a blast!
I tried the mini freak and it immediately struck me as a unique instrument. It’s front and center on my desk. A great size too for easy keys as a controller on a small desk.
This is cool to see. Much respect for one of the best. I'm new to synths just the past year or so, but the microfreak is my favorite to jam with for the same reasons.
The Last Resort is a masterpiece of aesthetic sound design, the whole album is like a storytelling that's so transporting through a gloomy and emotional journey into unknown realm.
i used to be obsessed with his music! i forgot about him... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ welp looks like im about to be obsessed with his music all over again now that ive been reminded plus having seen he's makin stuff still 🎉
He has the same joy of a kid in his bedroom playing with his favorite toys.
So much passion and love for music.
The Last Resort is one of the most important albums in my life.
Soooo gooood
Well. Just purchased. Thanks!!! Damn this is delicious!
@@tablaninja ❤
Also to me.
It’s a masterpiece.
Never heard of Trentemoller before this video. The Last Resort is one of the best things I’ve ever heard.
Oh my, you're into a journey
One of the best producers in modern electronic music! Absolute Benchmark! 💯 Maximum respect! 🤩
Moan is the only relevant song Trentemoller has ever released. The rest is boring and completely unnecessary. Typical One Hit Wonder.
@@Pottwerke Okay buddy, your opinion is factual I guess. Typical Musical Elitist.
@Wine&Synths What´s your favorite tune? Mine is Take me into your skin.
@@thames21 Mine is Sarude - Dandstorm
way too cheesy for my taste.
That is my neighbourhood (Amager, Copenhagen) and I had my studio in the same building as the one Anders has his studio at...funny and strange to see my own neighbourhood in an Arturia commercial :) What an awesome producer he is!!
Trentemøller is a legend! Also, that wall of pedals!?🤩

A modern LEGEND! A joy to peek into his insightful creativity....
Lovely to see the studios of some of our favourite musicians.
Absolutely thrilled to see that someone of his statue likes one of our presets we created for the Arturia MicroFreak ('Mellow Tape'). Speechless...
We all same kids on the block sharing toys🖤
Congrats! He's a legend!
Thanks and completely agree@@pierbover
Thanks@@pierbover!
Trentemøller is a legend, one of my all time stand out producers. Always Something Better (Trentemøller Remix)

Trentemoller Microfreak Edition please 🙏🏻
His music changed my life
That pedal room.Incredible..
Wonderful to have him !! Absolute legend
Love his track ''Miss You''. Incredibly deep. I'm hyped to see he's using the Microfreak.
oh yes this track miss you is one of my fav ever !!!! I love the melancholy, the reverberations. this creation is crazy.
My absolute favourite artist, and one of my favourite instrument makers ;-)

One of the all time best electronic artists ❤
What a beautiful man. Makes me so happy to know people like this are alive.
This guy's mix of "What else is there" is one of my most inspiring tracks of all time.

a true artist is one who loves what he does and wants to touch people by making sure to be touched by his own creations in the first place...
Thank you. Grateful for the MicroFreak and Trentemoller added to my collection/Library.
Halt and Catch Fire is my favorite show, the theme song gives me goosebumps every time. My Stellar edition is arriving tomorrow, I can't wait. It's my first hardware synth.
That’s a very good advertisement. Wish people were doing more stuff like this
awesome video its so cool to see peoples creative process
trentmoller is an absolute legend, love his work and from watching this he has an amazing attitude too.
Moan is the only relevant song Trentemoller has ever released. The rest is boring and completely unnecessary. Typical One Hit Wonder.
Thank you Arturia, for this interview! I love what trentmoller does, and when I heard the sounds of the microfreak, I got one , telling me that I would be able, with this amazing synth, to create sounds like Trentmoller does!!!❤️❤️❤️
And a great DJ as well, had an incredible time with his set in a club here in The Netherlands, years ago!
His first album, The Last Resort, has so many hidden textures that when I first got a good pair of speakers I thought my speakers were broken because I could hear tiny glitches I could never pick up on before. It's always a feast for the ears, always discovering.
The Last Resort is a modern classic.
Got the microfreak last year, later I found out my musical hero had it too. I'm really happy Arturia reached out to Trentemøller
very very glad to see Trentemoller on your channel
Trentemøller, undoubtedly one of the GOAT's.
He's such a great producer !
I have fond memories of seeing him at Ambar in Perth Western Australia around 2006 was an awesome gig.
Love his attitude and simplicity :)

True Legend. He's changed my life!
I’m quite excited that he’s working on a new album. It’s been a while since I’ve heard his stuff.

Thank you for this video, Trentemoller is a fantastic techno artist who creates pure music art, god bless!
Legend! Thank you for your music!
This is so great.
Trentemøller!! Can we get an extended 60 minutes version of this video please?!
you could play it really slowly
it was cool to see an opinion from my favorite artist
Love his work. Found him after seeing a film by Almodovar.
Really love the sounds and textures in this video. So much mood & melancholy. Smuk!
Trentemoller, thank you for the goosebumps.
this man has created some true masterpieces, if he recommends, I listen
I love his music so much. Saw him in Seattle for The Mash and The Fury. It was incredible.
Magic
His music is always so visceral and inspiring for me 🖤
I'm loving the mixture of analogy and digital too
it's the meeting of a genius and a machine;) I just bought myself the modern cycles of elektron for kick and rhythm and the next purchase will be this microfreak! with a mixer.....i think i'm going to have a blast!
What a guy, he’s always had a great sound
Beautiful video! Love the MicroFreak!
amazing video with amazing artist. a pioneer that knows how to blend eurogenetic music theory with intresting timbers, loved it!
What a master! Such an inspiration
Super sounds on this little synth 😎👌✌️✌️
legend, his music is timeless
it's unlike most things he's done, but I still put on his track "le champagne" from the early 2000s. it'll always be good. great artist/producer.
I tried the mini freak and it immediately struck me as a unique instrument. It’s front and center on my desk. A great size too for easy keys as a controller on a small desk.
Thx for the New update ! So huge ! ❤
Sounds awesome! Which engine is it at 01:45?
So interesting and seems like a legend
Awesome stuff! Gotta get some of your records!!!
This is cool to see. Much respect for one of the best. I'm new to synths just the past year or so, but the microfreak is my favorite to jam with for the same reasons.
Very nice 👍 Microfreak is versatile... I use it for more agressive stuff often but this smooth sounds are amazing to.
super cool synth thank you for the veiw of one of cooler synth out there
So looking forward to the next Album...
Neat little collection of pedals
Little? That’s a freaking wall of pedals)
I just wish he was still making crazy minimal bangers like back in 2006
I love this guy, besides the fact he loves my favourite synth but his music philosophy is spot on with mine 😉👍👍❤jaffa jenkins dawless jams
What a lovely chap!
He seems like a really nice guy
The Last Resort is a masterpiece of aesthetic sound design, the whole album is like a storytelling that's so transporting through a gloomy and emotional journey into unknown realm.
