Chasing so much easier than when I did it as an apprentice many moons ago ! Best job I went on we had a professional chaser employed to do our chasing , all we had to do was paint the walls and he would chase away ! Heaven .

One of the main reasons I love using the multi-tool for taking up boards is because you can also hear the tone of the blade differentiate between wood and copper. Stop the tool and you will have barely scraped the pipe. Use a saw and it is usually too late. :) Adam is certainly levelling up nicely. Good job.

Busy with a house rewire now....it is a HUGE job! ...and the owner is working from home during Covid...she needs new distribution board and new wires all round...WITHOUT ever losing power to the office.

Great vid Nick. Those Wylex boards always make me smile as thats all we used to sell when i started in the industry in 1983. It always struck me that if an electrician bought one with either cartridge fuses or the new (at the time) mcbs he was doing a good job.

When I had my house rewired the electricians loved it. When I have the carpet up I mark where pipes and any cables near the surface.

I did that in my last house. I replaced the floor boards so as new board went down I drew on what was underneath.
I've just moved into a new build and as it was being built I came in after first fix and took loads of pictures of pipes and wiring with a tape measure so that I've got a record of every wire and pipe in the house. Makes drilling and screwing less stressful lol

Just a thought, the main water bond in the kitchen will eventually be " Blind eye" and possibly vulnerable to mechanical damage, curtain rail fixing etc,.. I personally would have dropped it into the same chase as the ring.
However, I remain impressed.

All great banter - Nick don’t knock it until you tried it. I challenge you to do a few yoga or Pilates classes, seriously it will help both your physical and mental well-being. Also ween yourself off the monster stay hydrated with water or tea at worst. The monster caffeine load will not help with stress levels and will just add to greater nervousness and mental anxiety. All of you are very busy. Take a break none of your RUclips followers will knock you for it you all look exhausted spend a week with your family doing nothing rearrange some jobs if you have to. Have some one edit the videos for you it will save you time.

Another great video mate! Have you ever thought about using grid switches for kitchen appliances or do you not like them?
I've seen that done, a 4 gang grid switch with switches for the Fridge, Washing machine, Dishwasher and cooker extract hood.

Have you ever ran cable under the top of the staircase. Where on either side there's a step to bedroom and under the flood there's a brick wall and 2 wooden joists.
love your videos, 2 questions if I may. Why do you leave an unchased bit on top of the metal boxes, why don't you just put capping down to the box instead of squeezing trunking onto the left in bit? & can you link to the plastic plasterers mask/socket mount wsaname thing. Ta!

Cables need to be supported to prevent premature collapse in case of fire. I would have thought that if the ceiling caves in then the collapse is very much mature... ?
If the fire is that hot to bring the ceiling down in that particular room...surely no one will be going in there and the fire brigade are going to find an alternative way if they need to rescue people with it only being a domestic 2 story dwelling

Is the 110v version though.
Loads of 110v her in the Republic and Northern Ireland in Ray Grahams. I seemed to have got the last 230v chaser and now have trouble finding the matching hoover. Dunno why, there german and there 230v. Should be ez even if I have to use a plug top adapter. Any help welcome 🙏
Also 110v is only 1700watt 230v is 1900/2000watt fare more powerful

Which ceiling (Min.)? Tiles and tile adhesive in the kitchen are made of asbestos

My neighbour just got outside lights installed and guess what the electrician used .....flexicon .. IT LOOKS SO BAD

I like to write on the boards and if find any pipes or can see any from first look under mark them too :) make it easy for the next person....it might just be you :)

you could kill two birds with oen stone and do Yoga in Asda Price underwear haha. I'm not an electrician, haven't been in the trade ever, but find it quite interesting, however and as I said not being in trade maybe a reason. When you start talking of your plans, cable run routes, what accessories are going where, I find it really hard to take a fraction of that in, maybe it's just too fast? Chris Reeves can also someitmes give the whole of Wikipedia's content equivalent in five minutes or less, and I just think how do people learn to take it all in. I mean (and I am stereotyping young students), how does Adam cope? I did electronics, and sometimes, I had to get up and go to the loo, my brain just malfunctioned. But seriously, I've noticed Adam is asking lot's more questions, or commenting much more. When he's been explaining what you both done/doing, he just get's on with it, I'm sure when I first seen videos with him in, he was a bit nervous like anyone being on camera. on the RUclips banter, Dan from DSS doesn't seem to get mentioned much or joins in himself much now. I know he's been busy as he went quiet, but I love how evryoee has this bond, hope J Beck comes back soon.
