This warms my heart! LOVE seeing this! Classic Sean comments and humour. Looks like it is sailing beautifully too!

Beautiful! Looks like the stays are bending the mast to windward. With love, Ken

      Hi Ken
You are very observant :-) I have made a few adjustments over the last few months which I am happy with. The mast is a second hand one coerced into doing the job, as is the boom and the...
I am very happy with how well the boat sails, particularly in breezy conditions. No doubt there are many optimisations that could be made. I am, however, just very pleased to be able to get on the water. For health reasons I can't go out for long at a time, but I am sure the time on the water is therapeutic in some manner!
      Kind regards
      Sean

Very nice, where did you get your spars from? Are they off another boat?

The spars are from another boat. I tried to use as many second-hand bits as we could. I quite liked the 'big boat' spreaders look :-)

Beyond gorgeous. I would hope you'd do a better job next time. Maybe bring some fried chicken and a good friend, ME!

No. I live in a little place called Ona, West Virginia. Wife and I are hopeful of relocating to Plymouth, North Carolina soon. We would sail Albemarle and Pamlico Sounds and portions of The Outer Banks. I've wanted to build for about 20 years. I'm hopeful of doing so starting this Summer (about 5 or 6 months from now). I've looked at different designers. I always come back to Welsford and Selway-Fisher. Fisher has the most incredible small boats with cabins, as well as nice boats without cabins. Welsford has 4 of the nicest dinghies imaginable. If I was certain, only my wife and I would be sailing, I think I'd build the Houdini. But, I want to take folks out for a day. The Pathfinder is the obvious choice for 4-6 people.

That looks like a lovely place to go sailing. I decided on no cabin, but to use a boom tent instead for camping - hoping to get the best of both worlds. The Pathfinder is a real dry boat, its take some decent wind to blow spray over. It is also remarkably stable. I have been out in some fairly decent breezes and have had no frights or flips. I have a 1kW electric outboard and total of 3kWhr storage with a small DC power supply that lets me top up the outboard battery. If you want more information the let me know.
