So apparently IRL they had been dating for like 5 years before Troian did her couple episodes on Suits. They started dating(again) in 2010. Her Suits episodes were in S4/5(2015). They got married in 2016. And yes, their chemistry absolutely shines through.

I never Understood why mike didn’t just become a legal consultant. Do all the work. Have a real lawyer file the stuff and argue.

when Mike first got the job he was unproven and could have never gotten a job as a consultant. If he was honest with anyone but Harvey, who would hire someone with no college degree at all. After prison this is exactly the position Harvey offered him and that he took before they managed to get him in the BAR legitimately

This episode explains it. After Claire learns the truth she points out that he could have gone to a different university even after Harvard rejected him
But he didn't because after his parents died and he lost that one chance, he didn't see any worth in himself. He preferred to live a drug filled life and look away from his demons rather than facing them

Bellisario seems like a lovely woman and Adams is really lucky. That aside, Claire is honest about her relationship goals, but even then what Mike was already smart enough to realize is, just because he's a bike messenger today doesn't mean he'll be a bike messenger tomorrow.
You know, he could’ve easily just slip in the fact that he was kicked out of school on their first date and everything would’ve been fine.

according to this script between clair and mike, mike did the mistake of trying to pretend to be someone that he is not in order to get a girl that he wants, be if he would be a man about it and say that he was just a bike messenger and role with the outcome - he would be a real man in fact and be true to himself, but because this is a show and there is supposed to be drama, he acted accordingly. The point here I'm making is for the guys, never lie or pretend to be somebody you're not in order to get a girl, get a girl that likes you for who u are, I know that's the kind of girl I want for myself

Nope. It's a testament of his quality.
I mean, Nathan used Mikes work to keep Hector Suarez in the US. Mike was also honest about his Criminal Record. So its not weird at all.
Nathan hires him because he knew Mike had done this, but admitted to being a felon in his application. So he saw Mike growing up so to speak.
