    If this had ever happened to me, I would have called the Customers Protection Agency and they would would have helped me for sure(after all, it's their job to help us). I would put a proper review on their website and inform others on social media about the situation to warn others.

    If I was in such a situation, I would look for an order confirmation or send a scan from my bank account on the day I got a new refrigerator so that we could determine if it was actually paid.

    I would share my story on social media n make sure i mention their company. In my country there is an organization which handle customer complaints and protect us from any violation made by any companies.

    Hi Harry, the situation you find yourself in is difficult and I thought for a long time about what I would do. I think, as you said, I would send a billing confirmation, but also went to the warehouse and found these men and talked with them. Maybe it is a simple mistake and try to convince them to confirm this version or sign a paper that they have taken the freezer.

    If I had ever been in this situation, I would definitely check the type of my fridge first 😂 Only after checking I’d buy new fridge and stay calm till the day of delivery 😊

    I would be very happy if you repeat the new words you used during the lesson at the end of each lesson with their synonyms, or if you show them as a table. There are too many words, sometimes I have trouble taking notes. By the way, you are definitely making a very successful presentation. Thank you.

    If I had ever been in situation like this I would send them the confirmation of a payment for this fridge and I would asked for speaking with a customers service worker that I spoke with in that day and try to explain the situation once again.

    Hey, if I had situation like that I would probably sent this company a photo of your bank statement at the day when you got your new freezer. There should be an information if you really paid for it or not.
    Good luck!

    So the first fridge you had bought after broking your old one was a standing fridge, but it wouldn't fit in, so you had the standing one picked up and ordered a new fridge, right? But at the end you ended up using it as a standing fridge anyway. Wouldn't it have been easier if you had kept te first one you bought? Lol.

      Haha yes you are right! That definitely would have saved time, and indeed, money. But at that point I was determined to get an integrated fridge! :(

  • @kareenkim1109

    Oh dear, what an ordeal you've been through Harry! (or going through..now that I've watched till the end!)
    And... 21:15! I felt a little bit of despair on your behalf!
    400 pounds out of pocket only to be doubted on the phone. What a scam!
    I think that manager's advice was sound BUT! **my 2 cents time**
    - Yes you could trace back that call where you asked for the pick up.... as he suggested.
    - *BUT* you could also ask that manager to trace said call inside of *their company's records* !
    Maybe you could even have them find the recording of the call !
    (it's very common that any communication such as those you had are recorded by default..).
    While it's usually not possible in the case of you calling the delivery guys, it should be possible when it comes to your communications with the shop's call center (sorry, I do not know how to write that name...Curry's? LOL)
    In hindsight, we need to be paranoid and record/ photograph or vlog any such ordeal to be safe I guess... :/
    You could also turn anything involving a company bringing or retrieving something of value into an English lesson!
    (so that you'd always take video footage lol).
    If you think afterwards that it can make for a good lesson, then you can use it.
    If it's not good footage, then at least you have proof on your computer.... :D ;D win-win!
    Well, I'm glad that all those difficulties have brought Marina and you together

    • @realenglishwithrealteacher4777
      @realenglishwithrealteacher4777  4 года назад +1

      Thanks for these great suggestions, Kareen! I did actually ask them to find that call (and the recording of it) and check their records but there was no record of it.. so I forwarded on my record to them.. but they didn’t even get back to me! In future I’ll be extra careful with these kinds of things! So glad you enjoyed the video :) xxxxx

      @kareenkim1109 4 года назад

      @@realenglishwithrealteacher4777 Oh man.... I think they're unwilling to get to the bottom of this... :/ It's literally robbery :(
      I bet this is not the first nor the last case of this happening with that shop. Shocking.
      I'm not sure how you'd feel about going that far but, I have heard of many people in similar situations who finally got what was due to them by posting their complaints on their social media/blogs, etc... When word starts spreading about the ugly truth, those companies that didn't do right by them would finally contact them and refund their money, etc... sad that we have to resort to this though.
      It could be more peaceful to let it go, but 400 quid these days is quite a lot for an honest man to donate to such a dishonest business. ( ' - ' )

  • @Isilic

    Now you know, get always a receipt even if they do not make any suggestion of it, ask for it because it's your only "insurance", it'll be the only way to prove later that you're not telling lies to those bi@&%·$. I think there must be a certain kind of institution in the UK that deals with this sort of problems between companies and costumers, if the latter has been tricked or neglected somehow.
    I could feel the frustration of what happened to you because it sucks. I would have done the same thing you did, I would have recorded a video lesson and gave them a shout out for they shitty services. They still owe you money.
    Cheers!
