Damn I'm happy that we germans dub everything from foreign media into our language, even documentaries. Luckily, for the ghibli movies, everything was dubbed directly from the Japanese Version and not the trash already-cut version from Hollywood.

Understandable, as someone who dreams of using my creativity for visual story telling, if I needed to adapt my story so much it’s barely the original, I’d probably not do it unless it was absolutely needed. We should not have to change art if it’s not hurting anyone.
Princess momonoke was really good. I just happened to turn it in as a background thing and it caught my attention as soon as the guy arrowed those first soldiers.
What bothers me the most is there were already mature/adult animated movie out by that time. Some were way more adult than vally of the wind. Unfortunately because family movies tend to make more money studios often butcher a writer's vision to preserve profit. This is still done today.
US animation industry is just not as specific and detailed as Japan, especially regarding censorship levels, categories and age restrictions. Heck Japan has market for every niche consumer taste and the age restrictions is just one of the options.
Nausicaa is a breathtakingly beautiful and inspiring film it’s one of my favorite studio ghibli films. Whenever I get the chance I recommend it to anyone that will listen. The Lorax could never do what Nausicaa did yep I said it. Truly a special movie.

Princess Mononoke is one of my favorite anime movies of all time (along side Akira, Dragon ball super Broly, pokemon mewtwo strikes back, and Dragon ball Z Broly the legendary super saiyan)
I still cherish my VHS copy of Warriors of the Wind. One of the coolest covers I had seen and got me to rent it when I was 3 or 4, directly leading me into a love of both Studio Ghibli and anime as a whole. When I discovered that it was from Japan as I entered high school, that’s what encouraged me to even look into anime and I became an old school otaku out of it. Everyone else may hate it, but Warriors of the Wind was, to me, an absolute godsend. 🤷🏽♂️
Miyazaki is easily one of the greatest movie makers I have ever seen in my lifetime if I was going to pick a studio to watch the movies from strictly for the rest of my life it would be Ghibli

I have Warriors of the Wind on VHS, it's not just cut to make it "family friendly" it's almost a completely different story.
It was my first introduction to anime as a child and I love it still near and dear to me, nausica in the valley of the wind is great!
