Hey Will, glad to see you back again. I know it's off-piste but I wanted to ask how the ear op went? All good I hope. One other thing....How many millimeters from the edge do you set you wing dividers to draw the line prior to punching? I'm using 6mm but I think that's too much...

Hey! Thanks for your comment. Didn’t end up needing the op, still using my hearing aids. I set my wing dividers to 3mm from the edge and centre the pricing iron on the line it leaves. 6mm is far too much :)

nice work man, I was trying to do a little coffin for some mtg cards (vampire deck) and I was doing something similar I was doing that side hole but lining it to a vertical one so I would have a 90º angle, but it was tearing the leather...
    I'll try your method

I would call that action not punching but a prick. As in, Pricking Iron.

Thank you very much for sharing your techniques, Will. Given the workpiece is circular, might you share how you got an exact number of holes in the disc and cylinder wall? is there a chance that the number of holes on the disc and cylinder wall are not the same?

How are you able to ensure that you have the same number of holes on the bottom piece as you do on the side piece? I could see myself having trouble with the spacing and wind up with an extra hole

I was thinking this myself. Not sure if counted, or if the needle and thread have to go into the same hole twice to align and match.

Its a bit of both, count first but sometimes you have to align and match.

@@WillHodges Thank you very much for the clarification Mr. Hodges. I look forward to eventually trying out this crafting technique.

Hi, I would like to know where I can find the brass weight to hold the leather when you cut it. Where I can buy it.

You can buy from Okada tools in japan. Amazing knives too
