About a month before I graduated I backed up on the front sidewalk of my high school and did a power stand that dug divots that were there until they remodeled the school about 10 years ago. That was at around 3 AM in April, 1988. A 1973 Z/28 did the honors. Rock on, young man. Glad to see not everyone is glued to a cell phone.

Dude, I was so excited for you while watching this, and a little classic song was going through my head from when I was graduating high school, Alice Cooper, "Schools Out for Summer......Schools out for ever!!!" All the males and some women were doing burnouts in 1968 GTO's, 426 Hemis, and all kinds of 396 Chevy Action. Plus, in the old days all the older generations would treat it as a badge of honor and celebrate with you, and so, they would watch and wave 👋 cheering you on. Also, they would share beers and cigarettes with the graduating class because it's a badge of honor into adulthood and also for celebratory purposes! Thanks for carrying the flag of tradition and having fun while doing it. Thanks.

Dude youre doing it right! Working hard, staying humble and showing old school style. My dad was always on me about style. He always said if you have a cool car, you dont open it up for just anyone. You roll smooth and chill and pick your time to open it up. And when you decide to open it up, you blow it out all the way through 4th gear! Lol so thats how i did it except on graduation day- i destroyed that high school parking lot. I enjoy your car, videos and all the memories it brings back! Keep it up bro!
I love old cars and my family has always been a stock car racing family especially when it was actually road cars on track. I might have taken a different choice than they would with a 32 yr old Miata, but it's RWD, manual and handles well. My dad raced a Nova and a Camaro on dirt. His road car was an olds 442. I'm going to have to add one of them to my unhealthily growing collection at some point.
Ahh the glory days indeed. I graduated hs in 1980 and it was common to see these cars. Had a lot of fun with hot rodded cars: Chargers, Camaros, FIREBIRDS, hemi powered stuff and don’t forget the trucks and v8 jeeps!! Great video! I am sure the school Barney Fife will be ok, he likely wishes he was you in that classic Z28!! Ps i had a 78 v8 Camaro, 74 Charger, 82 TransAm and still have an 04 Mach 1
This was AWESOME! So many memories came flooding back. Times were easy then. I had a fast camaro and a fast bike. Well..at least we thought they were fast back then. Nothing like our new mustang. Its everything we dreamed of back then.
Awesome video! I had a 79 Z/28 my senior year, and also did a big Ole smokey burnout, back in 1986. And by the way, are you aware that your factory shifter is a dual gate. So many people never realize that. Such a cool touch for GM.
great video. Security was just upset that you had a nicer ride than they do. It's the last day of school and burn outs are just a rite of passage on those days. I graduated in 1981. The last day of school, I left nothing but smoke and rubber on the school drive way in my 1967 Camaro. Then I went on to be a cop for 32 years. And in that time i seen a lot of teenagers do the same thing on many last days of school. It always brought back great memories. I never messed with any of them. i just relived my teenage years through watching them.
Awesome car, sounds really good. I took my cammed 63 fairlane to school before I graduated and it turned a lot of heads cause of how loud it is, definitely one of my favorite high school memories.
Your a good kid 👍👍 At first, I thought this was a classic video from the early 80's or something, because you were doing everything old school style and being safe, etc. Let me tell you, we used to sit out in front of our high school back in the old day's on lunch break and do burnouts until the local cop surfaced, small rural town. It was just tradition and the last day of school was another story, too much to get into. The most embarrassing thing that ever happened to me at lunch hour was when I popped the clutch in my 1967 Malibu 2dr hardtop and broke the rear u joint and the driveline was spinning on the pavement and banging around under the car! So, instead of going back inside the school after lunch break, I walked to the local auto parts store, purchased a new u joint, crawled under my car and put it back together, as all my fellow classmates watched from the windows of the school. Then, I went back to class. Not a word was said. You hang in there and finish restoring that interior and making your car cherry. Good luck to you! 👍👍
Good to see young people enjoy old school vehicles and the pride to turn wrenches. Reminds me of an '81 Z28 I had, but traded for my current '84 Trans Am. Good job man, keep it up!
YES !!! YESS!!! YESSSS!!!! Well done!!! New generation driving a nasty sounding 2nd gen. Camaro, awesome! This, whilst being respectful and taking care, congratz to you and to who raised you (well!). Keep it up!
C/O 2015 here. Now 26. Im glad to see this still living within this new generation of kids...I had my 70' c10 LWB with a carb'd 355 that I built with my father after working two jobs, saving, and long nights after school/work that I too burned out in open header after my last day.... brought back great memories!! My gf from then is now my Fiancee, and dad has since passed from cancer. He bought that c10 brand new off the lot and its the only thing I have left to remember my father by. The truck is now LS swapped, and will be at my wedding in a month in the best shape its ever been! Making me want to throw another pissed off small block back in it!! Keep this hobby and lifestyle alive brother!! Stay safe out there! 🙏
Congratulations 🎉glad to see there are younger generations still doing cool burnouts with real real burnout cars! I REALY ENJOYED YOUR VIDEO.. 🎉 Your a good kid !!!!
Good job keeping that 2nd gen alive. That carbon fiber gauge bezel looks killer I ordered a black one on Friday and after seeing yours I think I made the wrong choice.. PS Don't ever sell it you will regret it lol
I actually made that gauge panel so thank you makes me feel good lol. But I was going to buy a kit but there very expensive and didn’t have the money for it. Thanks for commenting!
May of 1979 I did the exact same thing...except it was my 67 383 4 speed Barracuda. Pissed off the coaches directing traffic out of the parking lot. Good job, kid. The gearhead legacy is safe with you.
I actually spent time in the Norwood Ohio plant in 79 were that car was probably built. This plant has now been torn down and that was a true shame. I've built many chevy 350's and ford 302's in the day. But I owned a 79 TA with the pontiac 400 and 4 speed manual from that same plant, regret selling it. My buddy walked his 79 TA through the assembly line, assembling most of his car himself, it was black with the tan interior, Olds 403 and automatic. Beautiful car, he still has it tucked away somewhere. Good for you getting your hands dirty the old fashion way. Also Fisher Body produced a majority of the body parts which at the time was located in Hamilton Ohio just up the road from Norwood Ohio. Pretty cool 😎
Glad to see some of the younger generation still building som classes muscle. Congratulations on the car bud. Sounds really good. Bet it sounds good even better in person.
I did the exact same thing in my 5.0L, leaving my high school over twenty years ago. The rent-a-pigs TRIED to stop me but were unsuccessful in doing so... but great burnout, though, kid.
Did this in my dads hellcat for my senior prank, I was allowed to do burnouts on the blacktop inside of the fence 😂 these rent-a-cops are lames for not letting u do it in the parking lot 😂
NICE!! I did the same thing in front of my high school with my 68 Camaro! The smoke rolled into the 3rd story floor. The cops whom we all knew cause it was/is a small town paid me a visit the next day. Officially they said never do it again, unofficially he gave me the thumbs up! This was back in 85 BTW!
I grew up in Bricktown New Jersey. My last day I did donuts in the parking lot in my 64 Impala. That was in 1975. Good to see young people enjoying cars the way I still do. Please be careful and never sell anything you have now, you will regret it. Oh and maybe consider putting a 4 speed in the Camaro, you look like you would enjoy it.
Yeah he seemed pretty angry. I later found out that he was the head of security and I wasn’t trying to get thrown out. After all I still had to do one on the way out😂

These were the cars we drove in hi school 25 years ago it’s great to see a kid born after that time period driving a 2nd gen
That was cool. I really like the exhaust sound with the mufflers, sounded perfect. Very cool car...
I graduated in 1971 and I did the same in my 71 Plymouth Duster 340 4 speed I kicked a lot of ass in it, ran low 12s God I miss that car
Look like you have a good career in being a mechanic good luck to you.
Nah
Cool. My buddy had a 1981 z28 in high school. Fastest car in the school in the 1980s this is a great car. Great kid.
great video.
You remind me of my high school days! Sweet car!
I had my 79’ z28 with a 454 BB. Back in 1999.
Great memories to have and you get to have them on video.. 👍🏼 Car sounds great bud!!!
Love it! Faith restored in the future generation. Motor heads unite! Have a great life young man!
Rad video dude! 🤘 sweet burnout! Love to see young men like yourself into old American muscle!!
Awesome car, sounds really good. I took my cammed 63 fairlane to school before I graduated and it turned a lot of heads cause of how loud it is, definitely one of my favorite high school memories.
77, spent all my money on n50’s rear, air shocks, mags, 8,track. Ran open headers every weekend. Blessed be the young. Carrry on
That little engine sounds damn good! Winds up quick! Sweet sweet car young man! I had the same exhaust on my car! Be safe buddy!
Nice work! Extra credit for the burnout with open headers.
That wicked small block sound.
Keep it up. Good job kiddo!
Your a good kid 👍👍
At first, I thought this was a classic video from the early 80's or something, because you were doing everything old school style and being safe, etc.
👍👍
Nice to see young men doing things like this!!!!! 🤘
Thanks! More to come!
Keep it up!
This video makes me want to go back to 1995 in my 77 Cutlass!! (When I graduated lol) Great vid sir, enjoy life!!
That’s a great story! thank you for sharing! keep on hot rodding and be safe! Good luck with the truck! 👍
heck yeah, sounds good. hoping my 350 will be giddy like that one day. or ill dumb the 454 in it
going big block is a whole different level
Also that is a sweet car, never get rid of it!
Never! Thanks for watching!
@@3generation_racing658 You should be dam proud that's one stellar job. You could make a killing selling those
Wish I had one of my project cars running while still in highschool, but great video, glad us young people still keep the old spirits alive
Bad ass man keep it up! 😤💪
Thank you! Will do!
May of 1979 I did the exact same thing...except it was my 67 383 4 speed Barracuda. Pissed off the coaches directing traffic out of the parking lot. Good job, kid. The gearhead legacy is safe with you.
Hell yeah that was cool 😎 🤘🤘🏁
Thank you!
You are a fine young man, Sir. You will go far!
Was glad to see that you used jack stands and even kept the jack under the pumpkin for safe keeping and wheel chalks up front.
Sounds good both ways. What size are the rear tires that you took off? Stay safe and stay wise big dogg.
The stickies are 275/60/15. Thanks for watching!
This kid is me back in 1983 right down to the Camaro T-shirt! My Camaro was a 1970 and red just like this one. Son, you're gonna turn out ok!
Did this in my dads hellcat for my senior prank, I was allowed to do burnouts on the blacktop inside of the fence 😂 these rent-a-cops are lames for not letting u do it in the parking lot 😂
I raised hell on my last day too kid, smoking tires , lots of partying, class of “79” great memories 👍😎🎓🚬🍺😆
I had a S10 with the 350 when I was in high school and I promise you I smoke that place out on my last day😂
Hell yeah I had a Fairmont with a 302 in it
Man am I jealous! My last day of high school and my first day of uni were both in the pandemic period :)
Now THAT'S what an exhaust should sound like. Not like these idiots with their "Kellogg's" exhausts. You know. The ones that go Snap! Crackle & Pop.
i agree! thanks for commenting!
I absolutely love this car (mostly from stranger things) but this thing sounds amazing! keep up the great work! 8:51
The good all days
Security just jealous.
Thanks for commenting! definitely in the future this car will have a 4 speed in it! 👍
its security lmao you stopped for security
Yeah he seemed pretty angry. I later found out that he was the head of security and I wasn’t trying to get thrown out. After all I still had to do one on the way out😂
Keep it man I'm 39 and love seeing kids in to cars my 15 yr daughter is working on her jeep she loves mudding
