I came across this video on my homepage and I can confirm this. UWinnipeg is more chill and I feel more accepted there. There's lots of really passionate and expressive people and the class sizes are smaller compared to UManitoba. In one of my classes, there were like 150 students? Yes that's a lot, but I don't think that's much compared to UManitoba. When I visited my friends at Manitoba, I just get the vibe that it's so competitive. Not that there's anything wrong with that, it's also a really good school, but the vibes are just different. Your points are like so on point👏
You're so true about all of this! I'm in the University of Winnipeg, and I'm looking to transfer the U of M only bc they allow people of other faculties to join theatre--unlike U of Winnipeg
hi! wdym by this? I'm planning to take theatre course in University of Winnipeg, so could you please elaborate what you said? thank you so much in advance! ❤
There are big differences between the UofM and UofW. I know; I was a student of both. U of Winnipeg has a smaller campus and feels more modern and intimate. You get to know more people and get to interact with your professors much more frequently. U of Winnipeg is geared toward undergraduate studies with only a few graduate degree programs on offer. This is by design -- the UofW was originally the downtown campus of the University of Manitoba but when the U of Winnipeg hived off and became independent in 1967, by law it could not compete directly with the UofM by offering graduate degrees or professional degrees such as engineering, law, or medicine (although it could offer graduate programs in religion). Over time the UofW developed a limited number of its own graduate programs, but they are deliberately distinct from those at the UofM and are therefore not in direct competition with them. The U of Manitoba in contrast offers a wider selection of degrees, including graduate and professional degrees. The main campus in Fort Gary is bigger, less intimate, and grey... Oh, so grey... There are satellite campuses including one attached to Winnipeg's biggest hospital where medical professionals are trained and which are nicer, but in my opinion the main Fort Garry campus looks down-at-the-heels. Often different faculties have their own buildings, so the campus can feel insular with the students from different majors physically separated from each other, and with limited opportunity to 'mix'. The mood of the UofM feels more distant too, with students showing up to study and then going home, without the same friendly interpersonal interaction as you'll see at the UofW. Both schools offer excellent post-secondary education (depending on your major). Overall, though, if you're a serious student who just wants to study hard to get ahead in the world, then look at the U of Manitoba. But, if you're a people person who wants to enjoy your whole university experience while earning a top notch undergraduate degree, you'll LOVE the U of Winnipeg.
Thank you so much! I am considering to apply for the Jan or Sep 2021 program in U of W. I like more intimate and interaction with people there as I am an international student!
@@Theo46 Almost every student is on a budget. While you're studying, you can't work full time. While you're working, you can't study full time. It's a double-bind. My only advice is to seriously budget your money and arrange your affairs so your money will last for the duration of your studies. Scrimp and save your money from summer jobs and part-time work. If your major offers them, look seriously into a co-op program --- they're great for building job experience, making contacts, and earning some cash. And be sure to apply for scholarships and bursaries.

Hello Good day. Please I just got an offer letter from university of manitoba, I applied for university 1 intention to switch to pharmacy when I arrive. But I was told by the school, bcos I have done my 1st degree I'm not eligible for university 1. My admission was moved to extended education General studies. From my offer later they wrote to start Year 2 of Year 4 program. Please can help me explain what General studies is all about and its benefit. And year 2 of year 4 program . Thanks
I don’t want to give you wrong/inaccurate information so I advice contacting the advisor for your admission. Each student admitted has a specific advisor for issues like this. I hope this helps
Hey I want to join University of Calgary or any other good university of Canada but my grade11 percentage was so less . Grade 9th : 9.8 cgpa out of 10 Grade 10th : 9.8 cgpa Grade 12th : predicted ( 80+%) Would I be able to get cse in University of Calgary or any other top university of Canada if I have some experience in Android development (made 4-5 apps), WordPress development(2yrs of experience, developed a wp site for a school), Search Engine Optimization, Content Writing and social media marketing? I also know basics of Web Development. Waiting for your reply
You gotta do research. All the schools you want to can accept you if you apply to the program that you have strong talent in. If they see you do well in one thing and you are a stellar student outside the classroom, they can consider you. Apply to a few schools and see which accepts you. Top tier schools are obviously tougher to get into, so apply to smaller universities as well.
