Dear hospital manager,
I'm writing this email because on the past week my sister has been treated at ST Hospital and I've noticed that the food quality is not very great.
Every morning she receives a small breakfast in her room. The size is not the problem, the issue is that the meal is always cold. I believe that it has something to do with the position that her room is, the end of the corridor, although this is not an excuse.
Around 12 o'clock she gets her lunch. There were a few times the meet was not well cooked. This is not health for her, it could cause her a bacterial infection, which is extremely dangerous in her situation. With her lunch she usually receive vegetables and a lettuce and one day my mom found a small insect in the cauliflower, which proves that they are not even cleaned well.
This situation is completely disrespectful with the patients and I hope you can improve this service soon. I suggest you to hire an external service to provide appropriated meals or perhaps reduce the price of the stay so people can buy their own meals.

Hey guys I don’t usually Leave comments on RUclips videos but I have to say this. I used this man s channel to study for my CELPIP exam. The purpose of me taking the exam was Canada immigration. I thought I did well on the test but i needed clb 9. After the test I was reading online about CELPIP and many people trash talked the exam, claiming it was impossible to get clb 9. I felt bad after reading the forums and scheduled an ielts test. I got mad to the point I went out of my way to stop RUclips from recommending this channel to me. I eventually got my CELPIP score 11,12,8,10. Not clb 9 but encouraging, people said above 8 on writing and speaking was impossible. I asked for a re evaluation of my writing test and got two extra points. My final score was 11,12,10,10. Clb fucking 10! On CELPIP! So to conclude, thank you so much mad English tv. I have two tips for people in the same situation, 1 - watch this man s content. 2 - always ask for a re evaluation ! I hope the best for you all. God bless

I have your books, for speaking and writing. I learned a lot with them. I scored: L8 R9 S7 W7 - I need 8 for all of them. I know I wouldn't get 7 if I didn't study your material. I did my writing on half of the time, And I was sure I covered eveything. I made it simple, and I answer what they asked for. I just can't understand my 7. Now the speaking I was surprised of getting 7, because It was really hard to manage the time. I am now trying to find a way to retake and get 8.

However, answer is about poor diet plan. You are advising here to change the diet plan instead of improving the quality of the food.

Dear hospital Manager,
I am writing this to you to express a concern about the food quality provided in your hospital. My sister is in the hospital for a week, and the meals the nurses feeding her are not hygienic.
Most of the times, the meals provided are having some worms or insects. I remember, last week, the lunch provided had small worms in the vegetable salad. By mistakenly, if the patients intake it, then they are vulnerable to allergy or stomach pain due to food poisoning. I am wondering, how are the patients supposed to get well soon if the food quality is very poor?
I would like to suggest a change in the way the food is being prepared. Perhaps, the master chef/cook should ensure the kitchen is maintained hygienically. I believe, this measure would help the patients not be affected by food poison or any allergic.
I hope you would accept my sincere advice for the sake of all patients. Also, it is highly appreciable, if you could take the necessary speedy action which would help in serving the better food to the patients.

I personally think widening the roads would benefit the city and people in several ways. Even though improving the public transport system is a better idea, it would cost the government billions of dollars, which is way too expensive, and ultimately it imposes tax burden on the locals.
The first benefit would be fewer traffic jams, especially during rush hours like 8:00 am to 9:00 am and from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. Staying longer on the roads is an irritating scenario, which increases the daily average traveling by an extra hour, especially in urban places like our city, so, elaborating on roads is the best cure for this problem.
The second benefit would be increased accessibility to many vehicles on the roads. which ultimately benefits the transport department in the city, as it is connecting the city between the US and Canada, another way of boosting the economy for the city.
Considering these options, the city and communities around would benefit by lengthening the roads. Again, these are my personal beliefs, but I will support whatever the city decides to do.
I appreciate the opportunity to put my thoughts on this issue.

Dear Hospital Manager
I am writing this email to express my concern about the quality of meals being provided to my sister while she is hospitalized for severe food poisoning.
This past week has been quite traumatic for our family as my sister Denise was suffering from food poisoning and currently recovering at your hospital. I have been visiting her every day after school until the visiting hours expired late in the afternoon.
Being a food related illness, one would imagine the patient being provided immaculate level of nutrition, to help promote speedy recovery and rehabilitation but I have noticed that the meals being provided to my sister are way below par and substandard.
For breakfast, she was served with totally processed foods like frozen supermarket hash browns and sausages. During lunch, she was served chicken noodle soup which had high level of sodium and was straight out of a can. For dinners too, she mentioned about consuming pasta which was not whole grain. Hence, the overall quality of food in your hospital is a definite concern and it needs to be addressed.
In my opinion, it would be excellent to procure unprocessed, organic foods with high protein content and low sodium content. Not only this would benefit the patients immensely but it will also taste delicious.
I am looking forward to see some improvements.

My name is Thulasi Ram and would like to express my concerns about the quality of the food provides to the patients by your hospital. When my sister Sowmya has been injured and admitted into your hospital for a week, the quality of food was not so great.
Frankly speaking, most of the days I was there with my sister to support her at the hospital. During mornings, they served breakfast such as two slices of bread along with peanut butter which was staled, and could see the fungus on both. They also supplied salad almost every morning which was so soggy. During lunch, they have served fruits that were spoiled, and a cup of rice along with the lentils soup. The rice was overcooked, and lentils had a lot of salt in them which is very unhealthy for the patients to improve their health while they stay at the hospital.
I would like to suggest you have weekly meetings with hospital pantry staff and nurses specifically on the quality of the food and its standards to make sure to check the expiry dates on the food packages and mainly veggies. Also, cooking standards, how much quantity of species and salt add into the recipe.
I hope, you listened to my words and do make difference in the food department at your hospital for the sake of all patients’ health.

I am writing you to express my dissatisfaction regarding the food served in the room no - 403 for the last couple of weeks. I am here with my sister who admitted with the complaints of gastritis.
I found that the breakfast is always cold. My sister has complaints of nausea and aversion to wards food due to her condition and the soggy food make it worse. On 25th of October I gave a written complaint to the supervisor about this but still the condition of the breakfast is the same.
Furthermore, it is extremely difficult when food for the dinner gets late. Day before yesterday the dinner arrived at 10pm instead of 8pm. My sister was waiting had a stomach upset due to the late intake of food. Then I had to buy a dinner pack from the hospital canteen for her.
She got discharged yesterday and has to get admitted again in the next month for her diagnostic procedure (gastroscopy). I would rather suggest you to allow us to go to hospital canteen and have food than waiting for the cold food to come late. Otherwise please provide us with the food on time and fresh. I hope you understand our situation.

Moreover, the food is really cold, monotonous and full of carbs. The same kind of food is served everyday. A sandwich along with cereals for breakfast, rice bowl and yogurt for lunch and Legumes, beans and mashed potatoes for dinner. This is the standard meal for everyday which is full of carbs and offers limited amount of protein.
I would recommend serving fresh, cooked and hygenic food to the patients as it would make their stay pleasant. Additionally, I would suggest adding more options in the menu with overall high nutritional value so that the patients do not feel bored and recover fast.
I hope your management takes these suggestions into consideration.

Doctor asked to provide food with high proteins two days back. But when I tasted the food it was of very spicy and did not contained any ingredients which will have high proteins. Also nurses are not providing milk to my sister even after several reminders.

Reading - 12
Speaking - 11
Writing - 8
I was very surprised with the result for the writing section as I went away feeling very confident. I paid for a re-mark but my grade did not change.
After re-watching your videos for Writing task 1 and 2, I still can not see where I went so wrong.
Do you have any advice for me on what I may be doing wrong? I will be re-taking my test in a couple of weeks and hope to gain a better score.

I took the typing test and it came out as 55 wpm with 96.9% accuracy, so typing speed won't be problem for me :)

I am one of your mall customers who lives next to the mall, and I am used to purchase most of my weekly grocery needs as well as kids' clothes, toys and stationary from there. In spite of the diversity and high quality of shops, brands, services and products there, the difficulty of finding a parking spot has recently annoyed me and my family a lot. Frankly, we already have decided to go to the mall by walk since more than a month ago to avoid wasting more than 30 minutes every time we visit the mall while trying to get a place to park our car.
I suggest as a solution for this problem is to consider reducing the width of the sidewalks to provide more space for the parking area. Moreover, the small amusement park on the left side of the mall entrance can be cancelled, and its area can be utilized to provide many parking spots, especially that the last floor of the mall has already a wide amusing fun city for the children.
These are my humble suggestions regarding how to solve this issue. Hopefully, you will put them into consideration.

Dear hospital manager
I am writing this email to express my concerns of the meals provided in the hospital. My sister was injured recently and is in your hospital now. I visited her yesterday and I saw her breakfast and lunch when I was there.
To be honest, the foods are not healthy enough for my sister’s current health status. Her injuries were quite serious so that she had to stay in the hospital. I supposed the food plan should also be designed according to her personal injury level. I am quite disappointed when I saw the French fries and fried chicken tenders in her lunch box. They are too oily for a patient like her to eat after a surgery.
However, when I mentioned this to the nurse on duty, she told me that the menu was set for all the patients and the hospital would not do special design for any patient. I think this is quite unreasonable for a hospital to keep providing junk food to patients. I talked to other patients and their families nearby, and they also had the same worries. Some of them even chose skipping the meals and brought the healthier ones from home.
I highly recommend the hospital to change the menu as soon as possible and stands on the patients’ point of view. Your decision is important for every patients’ health!

No, it's probably not good to use those words. It's better to use casual language and lots of phrasal verbs.

When patience are sick, they should be given a special treatment in-order for speedy recovery. I noticed that plates are not cleaned properly. Eventhough, food had nutritional value; at end it's not useful, because of dirty plates.
Hospital supervisor should take the responsibility of this issue. For next time, they should make sure that all the plates are cleaned properly with nutritional foods to the patient.

I am writing to express my opinion about the food your hospital provides. My sister has been living the hospital you work for a week. I found that the meals the hospital was giving had consisted of convenience food or junk food.
For breakfast, your hospital give a chocolate bar and a small bag of potato chip or candy. The patient will feel very hungry at the lunch time because the breakfast are serving at 7:00am, but the lunch and dinner are a small bowl of instant ramen noodles without any vegetable and meat. There are full of carbs and sugar without any protein.
I will really appreciate if you can make some changes for the meals plan. I totally understand that there are lots of patients for your small kitchen and only a few of staffs. But I believe that balanced diet that gives patient's body the nutrients and speed recovery. I hope you could give plenty of healthy food for these patients.

I always get confused between 's and s'. Could you explain these two a little?
The possessive 's is if the word is a singular noun (dog = dog's, e.g. 'the dog's bowl'), but the apostrophe (s') is at the end if the noun is plural (the dogs' bowl). In the second example, there's more than one dog.

I have been observing the meals served for over a week and it needs improvement. The meal plan lacks nutritional value. For example, Milk or Fresh juice can be served instead of Soda.
Secondly, the meal catered is not a balanced diet. It is Protein and Vitamin deficient. I could hardly see meat or eggs in the diet. It also lacks variety. Mashed potatoes are being served every other day for lunch which is high on carbs and no proteins. The patients will be tired of having repetition in menu.

My sister Anne is admitted in your hospital for the past 1 week, as she is suffering from severe dengue. The treatment is going up to the mark so far, but I have encountered a problem that needs to be taken care of immediately as stated below.

I am writing this letter to complain you regarding the quality of food being served to the patients in the hospital also want to suggest few tips to improve these drawbacks.
I was staying in hospital since last week as my cousin is hospitalized due an accident. She gone through a minor surgery so she will have to stay in hospital till next week. While being here I noticed the quality of food is not appropriate for patients.
First of all, I found the food is very oily and full of cholesterol. We know it is not good for patient’s health who are recovering after an operation as this kind of food can increase the chances of infection in wounds. Secondly, the food is not nutritious. I noticed my cousin was served with ham burger in lunch that was very low in nutrition value. Obviously, this kind of food is not acceptable in hospitals.
I would like to advise you to check the nutrition and the cholesterol values in the food before serving to patients. It will help patients to recovers fast and also will provide them tremendous health benefits. I hope you will look into this matter and improve accordingly.
