Can we just accept the fact that Jamal Murray is just a bad fit for this team .. He is the wrench in the gears it is no coincidence that the nuggets play better team ball when Murray is out of the game. The ball gets distributed more and in turn more players get touches this builds up team chemistry and confidence . it allows them to run offensive schemes. When murray is on the floor the offense shuts down because he is so ball dominant the other players don't move they sit and watch Jamal because they defer to him so they don't know what to do a. Jamal is not a point guard he can't bring the ball up the floor confidently especially when the defense applies pressure. This is when Jamal shuts down he will panic with the ball over dribble burn the shot clock resulting in him throwing up a desperation shot or more often than not jumps in the air and throws the ball away resulting in turnovers. Jamal's hero ball antics is so detrimental to the team these habits have been prevalent this his rookie season but most gave him a pass because he had stints where he had great scoring in games but once his knee injury happened he lost his athleticism so now he can't hide those deficiencies anymore Jamal has been injured for most of his career he was exposed last year in the Wolves series. You can see the frustration that Jokic has with the way this team is performing. The nuggets are a run and gun fast break team Murray can't keep up.I think the Nuggets need to trade him for more capital and bring more help in .

Murray’s health is very frustrating and he was bad this last game at Suns, BUT he was also GREAT the previous 4 games before that AVERAGING 25, 6, 5, 3.3 stocks on 47/39/88 (+6 per game) with Nuggets 3-1 including AVERAGING 10 PPG in 4th (2nd most in NBA over that span only behind Durant 11 PP4th). He hit many clutch shots in those 4 games including go ahead shot with 9 seconds left at Kings and game tying shot with 9 seconds left @ Pelicans. The thing is even if you want him gone this summer, that only happens if like the last 2 years he’s VERY good from December 8 to the rest of the season or else no one will want to trade for that contract. He was 19th in Box +/- & VORP per game! 14th in OBPM! He had many great games in winter/spring 2024 including @ Celtics in a win (35, 8, 5 on 15-21 in 2 pt win), 31, 8, 7 at my pacers (he and Jokic killed us in 5 pt win). If you think he can never get back to his God tier 2023 playoff level or even his very good 23-24 RS level (14/19/19 in OBPM BPM & VORP per game shows he was about a 15-25th best player last year on a per game basis) that’s a diff story, but I won’t give up on him yet even though I do worry about his health.
No body is talking about him like he is the real problem. He started to fall apart in the playoffs last year and he hasn’t been the same. People have to talk about that he doesn’t seem like he wants to be here.
@@bobanbukarica2073 I fricken hate it when Murray dribbles into 3 defenders in the lane looks right at Porter wide open behind the 3pt line, won't pass it to him and ends up trying a whirling dervish shot cause he's selfish. i find it interesting that the one preference Joker expressed - to get Westbrook - has proven to be the ONLY good decision the Nuggets have made. Best broadcast of the season. Thanks for taking the gloves off and offering a honest assessment of the team and its outlook. The team took a gamble on Murray and lost. So the outlook is not good unless Braun, Watson and the other young players take a significant step forward during the season. Unfortunately, Malone is not the right coach to go down that road.
If AG misses time again is it absolutely crazy to try Hunter in his spot? He at least plays with full energy at all times on the court and is a mild threat to shoot it
@@sammyslam1 this is why I hate Malones style of coaching he rides the same guys over and over and over again. Instead of giving these other guys a chance. Hope he does well thats all I got to say. If he played more he’d do even better but Malone can be stubborn sometimes.

I don’t understand why none of the media ask how Booth can still be employed after building this roster around Jokic. They do nothing well around Joker. Let us put aside the 6 players booth signed to the roster that even he would say “aren’t real guys”. Saric is so bad he is below Zeke on the depth chart. The others can’t score, rebound, play defense, play with effort or energy (Russ aside), shoot, handle ball pressure, run an offense. Name one thing this team does well. They can’t even make Jokic look happy. But no one in the nuggets media will put the blame where it belongs it belongs.
They say they can't trade Murray which they can't because of the recent contract he signed. But on ESPN, I heard them talking about Murray and several said they could do a player swap. And they were talking about who Swipa was just saying. De'Aaron Fox. 😮
Thats the first time Porter had had more than 4 turnovers. Hey Ryan who has the most turnovers for the Nuggets this year. At least MPJ went for 22 pts.
Realistically, whether some people liked it or not, after the title, Denver managed to bury itself and waste Jokic's two incredible seasons in which he simply did not have the support of certain players. It's not just the players who are bad, the management showed that it was not up to the task and allowed some key players to leave the team without adequate replacements. A set of bad players and even worse management with a small dose of stubborn coach led to the degradation of the team and bad results. What's worse is that no team has recovered from such a drop in quality and discord in the team, and probably neither will Denver. Without hating, Denver will be a team that will enter the playoffs and reach the second round in the following years, they simply lost their momentum, but during that time others matured and became stronger and better teams.
Not that C.Booth is a bball savant but it's just Josh being cheap. Talentless bench and no trade capital other then Junior. As for the "Plan" of young players? See how 2 time lines plan worked out for Warriors.

But he was the #2 player in the NBA last year at 2pt. makes. Jokic is truly the most incredible player I've ever watched. Not only does he average triple doubles now, he's shooting a whopping 58% from 3pt range.
Calvin B gamboled on project dynasty and it didnt pay out..But i see that similar model of Denver as an organization they gamboled when they took Facu Bol bol Bones and on.. Simply their organization model mindset is took some players and look if he become Super star..and player development model not championship wining model. Instead they already have for 5 years generational talent player in Jokic and maximize his potential of wining every year (surrounding him with good to great talent) and one year they invested in Jokic,Jokic won the ring.. So if Jokic wont to win anything in next 5 years he need to ask for a trade or try to babysit next crop of new players and Jamal(project dynasty) for next 5 years and win nothing...
I can answer the question Swipa posed at the top: no they are not trying to win a championship. If they weee they won’t let Booth use Joker to build up his inept picks.
Nuggets can do well in the playoffs if.....all the players have a come to jesus realization that they all have to get better. AND they can if the effort is there. I think of the old old Boston Celtics who hustled on every play, defense and fast break to pull out wins against better teams.

The smarter plan to me is to ride this team out till the summer and then see what you can do to improve it then, as much as it may suck to have this be a throwaway season.
Wow, 2 nba fans that actually understand. There is a trade The Nuggets should make or shall i say, a type of trade The Nuggets should make and that's some type of minor deal addressing the bottom 8 of the roster rather than the top 7. Right now The Nuggets have as good a top 7 as any team in basketball: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, CB, Murray, Russ, and Jordan(solely to play center when Jokic sits, we can clearly see no upgrade "needs" to be made here) It's the bottom 8 that could use some tweaking and i don't believe you weaken the top 7 to strengthen the bottom 8. What you do is figure out which of the two youngsters with the highest ceilings, Payton Watson or Julian Strawther, gets a trade partner the most excited because you want to try to find a trade partner that will also take on the contracts of Zeke Nnaji and Dario Saric. If you have to loop in a 3rd team, which is more of a contender to take on Saric, then fine, but you want to move 3 Nuggets from the bottom 8 for one solid vet on an expiring contract. A 3 out/1 in trade means The Nuggets will have created 2 open roster spots which could then be used to sign experienced veteran free agents who are ring chasing. Personally i don't think any of these incoming players should be a center....what i see as a weakness is wing and guard defense(i'm not as concerned about scoring but i do have a recommendation for a scorer of these 3) Once The Nuggets enter the postseason all the top 6 are playing 38-40 mins a night and Jokic will play 40-42 mins a night, meaning there will only be 2 mins per qtr for a backup center. This is the only type of trade the gm should be working on.... Jokic has chemistry with Murray, Gordon, MPJ, and CB......his chemistry with Russ is really good as well. Jordan gives him some rest. Leave those 7 in place. Improve the other 8 via a minor deal that makes sense and sign some veteran free agents. The one youngster i would not add to a deal is Hunter Tyson....he plays like a true role player.
Send condolences to the joker for being surrounded by incompetents like CB, Strawther, and most of the bench… you would think he would be tired of carrying the load
You can not win a title with garbage players from the bench. Braun, Wataon, Gordon, Westbrook, all terrible shooters. Nuggets need shooters. Malone needs to go. He can't organize the defense. Every front court in the league is outplaying the Nuggets feont court.
They simply need to fire Calvin Booth, and get some veteran minimum players to help Jokic, since that's all they can do during the season. They could get rid of Jalen Pickett and sign Justin Holiday off his couch. He might be able to play. He played OK against MN in the playoffs. Calvin has just crippled the organization with these insane player contracts. They have some people in house they could promote to take his job and move in a new direction, just like they promoted Booth. The problem moving forward is that Booth has utterly screwed the organization. They have ONE first round pick in 2031 left to MAKE moves. Of COURSE Calvin Booth's plan was idiotic from the first - relying on late 1st round picks and 2nd rounders who are now 22 years old while Joker is having a top 10 all time season. It's totally insane, since they actually won a Championship by getting veterans Bruce Brown, Jeff Green and KCP. Then Booth suffered an aneurysm and gave 4 year deals to a bunch of 2-way players like Zeke Naji, Jalen Pickett, Hunter Tyson, signed Dario Saric only to have him DNP all season. They have only 2 point guards on the entire roster and one is 36 years old! I could go on and on for pages about all the idiotic decisions Booth has made. He needs FIRING yesterday and scrap the imbecilic "Project Dynasty!"
why `everyone but Joker`!? That`s so much work.. I have a simpler solution: `Just Joker`. One deal... bunch of picks we can spend on broken toys that no one wants, will never play or will take a decade to develop... plus 3-4 2nd year players and one veteran star (lets say harden type but over-the-hill/cheap, for malone to be happy). Probably would save a few bucks too (so Stan and Josh can be happy too). And Booth will look like a visionary, courageous gm that `makes big, real decisions`. Easy. Done. And... Joker might take mercy on this craphole and DEMAND A TRADE - since there`s no other way to help these cheap, incompetent, low-iq idiots.
I can only imagine DEN trading up in the 2023 draft to take Jett Howard instead of Dereck Lively. They would be on here complaining about the front office's incompetence saying how they could have used those draft picks for depth. The Monday morning QBing on here is astounding!
Mark my Words....they will be 2end in West Till the end of Januar....they Lost against Phönix how played the Game Like a Game 7 in a Playoff series becouse they needed that win so much

There is a trade The Nuggets should make or shall i say, a type of trade The Nuggets should make and that's some type of minor deal addressing the bottom 8 of the roster rather than the top 7.
Right now The Nuggets have as good a top 7 as any team in basketball: Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, CB, Murray, Russ, and Jordan(solely to play center when Jokic sits, we can clearly see no upgrade "needs" to be made here)
It's the bottom 8 that could use some tweaking and i don't believe you weaken the top 7 to strengthen the bottom 8.
Personally i don't think any of these incoming players should be a center....what i see as a weakness is wing and guard defense(i'm not as concerned about scoring but i do have a recommendation for a scorer of these 3)
Once The Nuggets enter the postseason all the top 6 are playing 38-40 mins a night and Jokic will play 40-42 mins a night, meaning there will only be 2 mins per qtr for a backup center.
Send condolences to the joker for being surrounded by incompetents like CB, Strawther, and most of the bench… you would think he would be tired of carrying the load
he's been carrying Murray's career almost for a decade
Of course Saric matters cuz it shows the failures of the front office....something needs to change
I have a simpler solution:
`Just Joker`.
One deal... bunch of picks we can spend on broken toys that no one wants, will never play or will take a decade to develop... plus 3-4 2nd year players and one veteran star (lets say harden type but over-the-hill/cheap, for malone to be happy).
Trade Porter Jr. and Murry, gimme Valanciunas and brogdon for one and Bogdanovic and another piece for other. Nuggets with westbrook starting are 6-1
Mark my Words....they will be 2end in West Till the end of Januar....they Lost against Phönix how played the Game Like a Game 7 in a Playoff series becouse they needed that win so much
Denver are comedy imagine if Jokic its not in that team what are they thinking to not bild a team who can even have a chanse they need 3 4 new players just to kompete back up center whoooo ,and look the players its not fer run Jokic 1 time u made miraculous thing with g league players thats the story no talent
90% of the people commenting on Denver basketball, on all podcasts, have no idea about basketball. A bunch of nonsense in the comments, hatred, jealousy, mindless words without any meaning.
You included
Just trade jok to okc for 10+ first picks and 3 useful players, no one wants to watch these nuggets
They need a change trade porter for lavine
That's already a dud. 5 different knee injuries. He's staying in Chicago I do believe is what I read
