    Wow, too cool, loading the resin in the cab, what propels the resin, air? Back in the late 80's developing the Maclean Bolter we experimented with resin shooting systems but the first 2 ft of the hole was always broken ground (deep mining, 7600 level) so as you described clearing the hole is tricky.

    • @JoryDion
      @JoryDion  Год назад

      yes, it's propelled with air. some operators put soapy water in a bucket to keep the hose lubricated but I find that resin in the water makes it quite smelly. also, there is a fine line with the hole diameter. There must be enough room between the hose and the rock to allow air to escape. By blowing the hole out with the drill steel and getting the injector hose to the back of the hole right away there are not many problems with broken ground.

    That is something you very rarely see in Australia is a bolting machine. The full scale bolt mesh bore cycle with a jumbo and it has proven to be very efficient.

    • @JoryDion
      @JoryDion  2 года назад

      How do you install the support without going past the jacks of the jumbo?
      I would like to believe there is a reason Sandvik and epirock make bolting machines and dont just tell every mine to stop being dumb and just use jumbos.
      I agree the jumbo cycle is more efficient but from my experience the bolting machine is much safer in unreliable ground.

    • @Davobeff
      @Davobeff 2 года назад

      The rule is not past the last row of bolts in Australia. Rigs will have a "nipper switch" which locks out movements for while anyone is forward of the jack legs.

      @@JoryDion the world record for meters was set and broken again using jumbo bmb cycle in recent years.
      It's not dumb or un reliable for almost every mine in western Australia atleast to do the full cycle with jumbos. If it was they wouldn't be doing it. The bussiness aren't small fish that lead the charge on efficiency and in the scheme of things few get hurt.

      @@Davobeff I think u misunderstood the dumb comment . I don't think Jumbo's for support is dumb I'm saying I hope the rest of the world is not dumb for NOT using only Jumbo's . There is hopefully a reason company's make bolting machines .
      Maybe it's a man power thing? i can't imagine having to get out of my machine for every bolt , and for a +15% ramp where it's bad ground and the back falls out it is not safe near the last ring of bolts. Maybe it's ground type? Type of mining ? Maybe we just suck and some years down the road we will learn and get a split feed and move to split sets lol.
      I wish we had split feed Jumbo's with helpers and long straight drives for easy meters but unfortunately that's not the case for me here.

      Many ways to skin the same cat. It's just not something you see in what they call "hard rock high speed development mining" the contractors that have developed this style of mining which has pretty well been universally adopted. These contractors are using the same techniques on contracts world wide including Canada.
