I´ve just bought one for me recently from ebay in near mint condition. Back in the 90s my parents refused to buy me one.
All those years passed, and now I got one finally by myself. 😊
I just got one in mint condition as well. This is my favorite JP figure; I think she looks better than any of Mattel’s Rex.

I was just researching this toy for fun the other day. I didn’t realize I could have done that shutting mechanism with its mouth. Sadly mine can’t thrash or snap shut its mouth shut anymore and the restraints are long gone. But it’s still loved and adored, and watches over our baby turtles on top of the aquarium.
I still have this from when I was a kid. This and my bull T. rex were my favorite dinosaur toys.
Jurassic collectibles you must spend soooooooo much money to keep the channel going with collectibles so I appreciate it

Quite literally the best Trex toy to ever have existed. As a kid I wanted one of these so bad, I got the Chaos effect one.
I was unable to afford the large Red Rex from the original Jurassic Park line, so when this came out I saved up (in advance, expecting a large Dinosaur toy) and found this in the Toys R Us waiting. It was like a dream come true. I remember the satisfaction carrying this one home that day

Why can't Hasbro be making figs this good >.< They used to! I had the Reak-Attack T-Rexes (Big green and big white, an small green) and the small (and maybe big) Reak Attack Spino, and those were great! Now Hasbro just wants to make toys that make kids go "Ooooooooh... BUY IT MOMMY!" and aren't worried about the look or paint or sculpt that much! One of my favorite thing about the old Kenner and Hasbro JP toys is that they were in neutral poses. Now they all look like they're about to do battle with each other!

I'm so glad I picked up this one and the Bull T-Rex from the now defunct Kay-Bee toys when I had the chance :-)

9.8/10 for this, absolutely brilliant design.
Also some would cut slits in the neck so the figure could be swallowed (like the bull) and I see why that is. It is extremely detailed, neatly a match to the movie.
if only they would bring keener back for the jp / jw toy lines :( r.i.p good Jurassic Park toys...

This was one of my holy grails during my childhood, so nice to see it back in your video. I always wanted the first red one too...but eBay was not available back then. :) A shame I let it go to my cousin...and he trashed it some years during his childhood. I should have asked him to give it back to me. hehe
The best toy I ever had. I played years and years with this thing. Now it's somewhere on the basement... Maybe I should get it

I don't even know how many times I've watched this video, but I just received my thrasher a few days ago for 55 dollars and she's in great condition! I'm only 11 so I'm trying to start up a collection of JP toys.

This, the stegosaurus from the same collection (with the missing chunk), and the little velociraptor were my favourite toys in the world.
My parents made me save my allowance to buy this and it was the first thing I earned. I loved this dinosaur and was my favorite toy growing up! I also had the mobile command center and the thrash worked well on it! lol brings back tons of memories! Did eventually get the tear you were talking about at the mouth.
Fantastic to hear - in 97 I also saved to afford this Dino. The Red Rex had been too expensive the first time round. So when they announced a new film I began saving for this. I'll never forget the excitement of picking this thrasher rex up at my local Toys R Us and taking it to the till. Thanks for watching and for sharing your story! What a great time

I had one. I loved it. It was my favorite t-rex toy. I also had a lot more. I wish I still had them. I had the motorhome, car, high hide, and much more. I miss them.

Just got one of these, the paint job and sculpt is beautiful. Got mine second hand from a charity shop for £5! No harness with it though.

I bought 2 of these thrasher on ebay this past week I love this thrasher t rex
I still have my childhood one but lost all the capturing gear parts. Mine is very played with. I remeber like it was yesterday, I was like really little and i had saved my allowance and it was like the first toy i bought with my own money at K-mart. I remeber paying around $20 something at the time. 20 dollars was a lot, i mean a lot of money to a kid my age at the time because my parents would pay me 25 cents a chore! but it was the most exciting thing, I played with it all day every day. Now i still have it and i wanted to buy another but wow! its so expensive now! glad i kept mine
I sooooooo wish Hasbro could give their JP lines the same love and attention. Kenner was awesome.
Still is to this day, Mattel turned bad so Kenner still holds the record. Until Marco makes come in with more cool rubbersaurs. So Kenner is second place.
At least the Hammond and amber collection are cheaper and less expensive unlike Kenner that makes their toys overly priced

this, the Red Rex and the young T-Rex from Jurassic Park were Definitely my favorite toys as a kid by far!!! I own four of these now 2 in the box and 2 out of the box

I never really collected any of the Jurassic Park Toys, but wished I did. They are cool. I do however remember playing with this one in the stores and driving everyone around me crazy.

I remember this figure from my childhood. I still have it and the bull T-Rex to this day. I have the Chaos effect repaints though. I had just about every other regular paint job Dino figure from the TLW line except for these two. The Bull has like a orange/black/blue paint job and the thrasher has a rainbow pant job on it. I don't remember that capture gear on my thrasher however. Must've lost it as a child, idk. Great video as always!

i have it from really, very loooong time, since it was still new, since 90's i was very young back then....until now i still have it, but lost the gear, but the figure is still in good condition, although some articulation points maybe not so good anymore..but still perfect looking figure...i love it soo much :D
I like this rex a lot considering it's a different color and has different features, but I can't get over the red rex.

It's a he. The female in The Lost World had a brown color. Also this guy has the male neck pouch. It could be the same male as in the movie just a different gimmick than the Bull T rex figure.
DeadlyDonut After having a quick scout and look at the coloration of the movie counter parts I suppose you could be right! The Bull T-Rex's colour is the same as Crash Mccreery's concept art, but Thrasher's coloration is the male T-rex's colour from the maquette used on set. Although as a kid I always imagined the Thrasher as the female the Bull as the male for the toy-line. Considering the toy-line's having their own story lines /characters etc.

I had a chaos effect thrasher growing up. Rexy was my best buddy in the whole world. Eventually bought a second (Rexine, Rexy's wife) from ebay. I think she was either $50 or $100 at the time, which was maybe early-mid 2000s? They're both still around; they live with my mom and stepdad. The one thing that bothered me most about the thrasher T-Rex model is that the head is WAY too small for a T-Rex. I didn't notice it until I got the Operation Genesis video game for PS2, and compared the T-Rex in that to Rexy, and noticed just how small Rexy's head was.
Btw, you're not kidding about the rubber splitting around the jaw. I was cringing every time you opened his jaws here, because Rexy ended up getting ripped pretty bad there, and so I spent probably a good decade being super protective of never letting his jaws get opened at all beyond their relaxed position.
Got a lot of these still. Got them put up in a black garbage bag in storage. The vehicles how ever i think they are gone as pieces got lost from them through years of playing with them.

This was the one I got in eighth grade, it blew my preteen mind.
P.S. I hated the permanent kink in the tail. I really wish they had packaged it differently.
The Thrasher T Rex toy represents the Doe Rex(who is the Buck's mate and Junior's mother) and she carried Lewis Dodgson in her jaws,dropped him in her nest and her babies devoured him
I think this and the 2001 animatronic Spinosaurus toy are the best toys of the Jurassic Park series.
I remember I still have that in my old box full with old stuff

6 years later Marco Makes now makes Dinosaur toys with rubber by himself and with his hands (With tools too) and makes perfect "rubbersaurs" he calls them. But they are really expensive
