Oh man.... that trail is brutal.... My brother did it on his CRF450R with bad valves, and almost died trying to kick start his bike all day.... Now he has new valves... lol
Agreed, the 2 stroke was brilliant, started first kick every time, a 450 with small fly wheel and bad start must have been brutal. Max temp on Evans was 212 on my bike
You did better than all these other guys with a bald tire. Nice
Thanks, I always ride Bald tires so I'm used to
Great video, thanks for showing the whole thing.
I could feel the fatigue setting in.... I could see it.. looks mighty tough work.... but great fun. I think it truly is 5 miles... you just did 2.5 miles of second attempts 😄👍 nice one buddy.
It's a awesome place to go ride, and share with friends lots of pushing your bike up the bill moments
Awesome job, buddy!!! I really enjoyed listening to the Romaniac description of this one!
Brilliant really enjoyed this up load, keep the trusty ktm she does everything you need her to do and more ,
Amazing effort! Congrats! That's why I subscribe ,great channel.
Man major props on doing this trail its not joke. I hope to visit Moab one day. But man I'm definitely getting a 2 stroke as my next bike haha. My 250 is really fun but its not competition on hill climbs compared to a 250-300 two stroke.
That is a really great trail. I am one of the Washington guys that was in the group in front of you.
You're killing me with the goggles thing... Just take them off for God's sake there's no law says you have to keep goggles on 🤣
Thank you can't see nothing because of the dust,
@@vegasromaniac ya I get it. Looks like torture either way. I'm in! 😜
I finished watching the whole 1 hr 47 minutes tonight. I enjoyed every bit of it! Thanks for uploading it all ...very nice to see you do it all and w/o incidents--good job!. It was a good idea to display the mileage frequently on the video-- that can be helpful to others. Amusing to see how when you were getting beat down and exhausted at 1:27:45 you were admitting to not working-out other than weekly moto riding, but having a fitness regimen (i.e. cardio, weight training, and stretching) will increase your stamina and energy reserve for grueling rides you like this! ...and as you know, when you're tired, the risk of injury and bad decision making is high. I'm not sure how much you hydrate and take in more calories, but these count too. When I ride mountain bike I eat GU energy gel every 45 minutes to maintain my energy level... it is very important for me to prevent bonking (low energy).
Good job bro! Stay with the 250 2 stroke for the riding your doing, it’s easier to control and handle and has plenty of torque!
Don’t forget put a drop or two of organic olive oil in your ear before you go to sleep . It will get rid of that ear infection check it out online ... also get your ass in the gym 2-3 times a week so you can manhandle that bike lol
To answer the question by Vegas RoManiac, of who built this trail, 5MOH trail was built by one retired guy who wanted to create a difficult trail for his own reasons. I will not give his name publicly because I don't know if he would want that, but he built the whole trail system in the Temple Mountain area - the Color Trails and the 5MOH. I have had the privilege of riding with him on some of these trails. BTW, 5MOH is a blast, but take it serious and take water.
Well, how can I send him a beer..
@@vegasromaniac You will have to find him camping out in the desert sometime. Look for a short older guy with an over the cab camper out shooting his gun by himself. No joke. haha
Great video. You almost sold me on a beater ktm.
Glad you rode it with us and videoed it! I wanted to ride it backwards with Ben, Jake and Dave but the group looked pretty spent.
It was quite tough I have to admit, not hard but relentless, it never stops, ledge over ledge over another ledge
Hat's off to Dick Brass !! He made almost all the trails through the swell ! He was a super guy !
I spent the night at temple mountain. Middle of May, weather was awesome, everything in bloom
Cool
Good for you. You worked for it. Stick to it.
Thanks
Just watched the whole hr and 47 minutes, very cool, would you be as comfortable on your FX you think? I could be wrong but seemed like your suspension was a little tight, that could tire you out also
The Ktm was not that good, and the fx will be a better bike guaranteed, now rmeebr my Ktm was an old bike and a new one will be better but the fx would not be to far behind, thanks for watching
Your welcome, I have learned a lot from watching your videos, the ease of checking valves and working on motor, stuff I wouldn't have ever tried on my own, I'm trying to catch up on all your videos, keep speaking your mind, it's just an opinion if it makes someone mad it probably because it's true 😉
@@terrywilson1362 Thanks man, I sure need more people like you... On my channel
I couldn't help but laugh when you said who painted this job
Yeah man chasing those dots its quite hard, like a cat with a laser dot
This trail is in the San Rafael Swell area which is not Moab, actually quite a ways from it.
There are a number of other really fun trails out there, waterfall, red trail, etc..
Either way definitely some challenging portions on 5 MOH, well done man.
San Rafael Swell area is only an hour north of Moab.
Sorry to see that I think you unsubscribed to my channel... maybe I haven't been riding my KTM enough for you? I've been making a lot of videos with my electric motorcycle and mountain bike . Ironically I'm watching your five miles of hell and enjoying the hell out of it! I'm glad to see that you went there and how well you are riding it. I have yet to finish the rest of this video, but will definitely do so.
you are not the fist one that told me that, im lossing subscriptions left and right ... youtube removes them automatically, . happend on the channel "the workshop" i found out when he was ranting about some video thati made and i didnt know until somebody told me about it
Vegas RoManiac Thanks for re-subscribing! That's interesting to hear that RUclips is meddling with your subscriptions. I wonder why they would do that? They seem to have a lot of strange policies these days and obviously their mission is to make as much money for themselves as they can. 1st they get everybody using it and excited about making money with it, then they scale back how much money people can make and hope everyone continues to provide them content so they can be the biggest parasites on the internet.
I wanna see you try this again on your YZ 250 FX
Going there this weekend.. Haha fun coincidence
Dang, 5MOH looks brutal. I'm sure I'll get suckered in to it one of these summers. Def not doing it on my 4stroke, I'd be stalling 100x per mile.
So I can not get you to do it?
I discovered SE Utah in 1987. I have 8000 sq mi in 15 second maps. And I just don't talk about Utah anymore. Its my sand box and I ain't sharing it
Your ride almost ended early when you pitched your bike up on that rock, lucky duck, that could have gone another way.
What minute?
I'm going to ride that and the other color trails this September 2020, going to do it on my yama-saurus 1984 IT 200!
Thats awesome, seems us some footage
Is this a good trail for a beginner?
nooooooo
Congrats on completing the trail...it is no joke! I have done the Red Trail twice but not sure if I am ready for 5moh. Maybe someday...
I've seen the red trail never did it, sure it's not easy considering the other stuff around
Can you do.that stuff with a rm125?
Good work dude been a min i think ur going to want to laugh at me in my comments in the next few weeks
Btw I still think you have not tried a new 2 stroke. Try it, fall in love, buy one once you are able to.
How much harder would be with 4 stroke?
I've done it, recent video posted, ruclips.net/video/Xz69m2PXScw/видео.html
My friend chad Skinner saw I one to put that foot peg in that corner marker.
Haha, sorry for your loss
One of the easiest trails there is. I think red Trail is harder. I meet a guy that says you do Water Fall Trail, to 5MoH then to Red, then Orange etc etc and make like a 60 mile loop.
Sounds like a lot of miles
@@vegasromaniac Might be fun to try that, would make for some good video
Man that trip looks awesome not a big fan of enduro I like tracks more
Current gearing? And which gear were you using here? 12:10
13 front , 48 back , 1 gear at minute 12 mostly all the trail was 1st gear !
your a great rider, but a Rekluse would improve your technical a lot !
I do not like rekluse at all, it's a cheat that I don't wanna get used to.
Why are you on a ktm i thought you where a Yamaha guy
I had to have a Ktm to be able to decide în a yamaha guy
Hard to watch. To shaky. Not sure what camera you use but the steady stabilizer must be off. Love your videos though. I wanna go do this trail in 2022
recorded in 2018 , since than i bought a new camera and a new bike 4 stroke ruclips.net/video/Xz69m2PXScw/видео.html this is the new video , but i hate the Carpet effect of the GOPRO so my stabilization it's medium,
Was it hot
Why would you ride this challenge with a bald Tire?
Because with a good tire was too easy.. Haha
@@vegasromaniac good reply! Lol
Awesome man thanks for watching
dude.. great job on some very technical riding. give yourself some credit, you are a pretty darn good rider.... as for bikes.. that 250 is treating you well. Why not get a recluse and lectron for it. even if you spent money on a pro built suspension too, it would still be way cheaper than a new 300. ( i did go to the beta dealer on boulder hwy last year and looked at the 300...and fell in love. $$$$$ )
Watch this video
I don't think you can post links on RUclips they always get blocked, they never show up I can't see it
Email it to me, vegasromaniac@gmail.com
Try RUclips channel “ john bailey “
Ok i will
I did half of this trail on an xr600.... WRONG BIKE!!! BTW this trail is a long way from Moab, just sayin...
Yeah Green River is where you stay if you don't camp. The Robbers Roast is a good Motel and reward yourself with Ray's their Filet is good.
Why aren't you riding a yamaha
Can't find a good one
@@vegasromaniac there's plenty of good ones have you seen the new yz x it looks awesome
@@jthondacrf8926 haha, I was just messing with you man, since than i bought a yz250fx , and absolutely love it , that ktm is long gone
