  • On July 6, 2021, Brett Dennen joined us for a second time at the Leon Loft for a short performance and interview with Acoustic Café host Rob Reinhart.
In between playing songs, Brett spoke to Rob about what it’s like to be back on tour after 18+ months off during the pandemic, how his songs often end up taking on new meaning over time, his love for Antique Roadshow, and how he ended up writing a song for Smokey the Bear.
    Brett Dennen’s Leon Loft Set-List:
    See the World
    Paul Newman Daytona Rolex
    Already Gone
    Not a Free Country
    Cassidy
The Leon Loft is an intimate, live performance space upstairs at the Leon Speakers headquarters in Ann Arbor, Michigan. We’re proud to have welcomed some of today’s biggest artists to our stage for a live recording of Acoustic Café with host Rob Reinhart.

How is this guy not a major star? 10 times more talented than what is topping the charts these days.

Brett, you need to come down to Silver city, New Mexico! The folks here would love to hear your music. Trust me, you will fit right in.

Saw him at Ann Arbor's iconic "Ark" last summer. He had a broken arm & a pianist tried to carry the show. Sorry to say, it was the worst concert I ever saw there. And these songs here aren't changing my mind at all. Between songs, he went on & on about how he broke his arm. Hey.....I love other arguably "twee" music.....Nick Drake comes to mind. But Brett ain't no Nick Drake !! I couldn't help noticing Gen X women, making up almost half the audience, seemed to hang on his every word while their husbands sat in stoic silence. Just my subjective opinion.

He is a brilliant lyricist [ex:🎵 Slavery stitched into the fabric of my clothes🎵 ] and he wants people to love each other, to be grateful everyday to end world hunger and ultimately 🌎 world peace
