Removing rust from vintage scythe blades using electrolysis

Do you lose much material off the blade? Obviously a bit of rust but looks like you gained some black material

All that is removed is just rust, metal that already lost. The black oxide is converted rust. Follow the link in the description to my blog with more detail on this
