Thanks for this Chuck! I purchased my Piano 5 a few weeks ago after watching your wonderful videos and am proud to say I have a program stored as ‘PianoManChuck’ in your honour (the Bosendorfer and Steinway split). It’s an amazing piano!
@@cjc4765 I adore it! I tried out a lot of different pianos (Nord Grand and Stage plus Yamaha’s, Korg’s, Rolands etc) but this one stole my heart. It’s beautiful, sounds and feels amazing, and as Chuck wonderfully demonstrates here, offers so much in way of customisation and honing your own unique piano sound! In my opinion the best stage piano out there.
@@adamsowter6976 thanks Adam. It looks and sounds so damn cool. I know Chuck loves Nords. He also use to play on a real nice Kawai at one time ( but he’s played them all)!! Seems like you had quite a few yourself !! I’m just an amateur. ( A professional amateur) !! 😁Thanks for the feedback !! 👍( this was one great vid!)
I was so worried about making a mistake when buying my first piano... I dont play... yet. I am a guitar player. I love great instruments. I decided to buy the Piano 5 after a few months of research because my advice to any beginning guitar player is to get a good instrument that just begs you to play it. My Nord Piano 5 arrived two days ago, I can't keep my hands off it. This is an amazing instrument and the quality is outstanding! This versatility that you demonstrate in this video has me even more excited and pleased with taking a very deep plunge for my first piano. Thank you for a great video!
As a guitar player of 19 years, I totally agree with your perspective! I think one of the main reasons people quit guitar so early is because they're likely starting on a very cheap guitar (poor tuning stability + very high action).
I blended the white and impeereal grands together on my nord stage 3, and they sound great! Add some EQ, and there's my new worshup piano sound. thanks for this!
I needed this to cheer me up! God help our people and allies! Thanks Chuck!! Beautiful. I know you love Nords. They must be great to play Nice review!! 👍🤞❤️
Chuck, I’m pretty sure you need to share the effects across both piano sounds. For example since phaser and flanger are in the same effects group, you either have the selection on or off for each piano sound. Having said that you certainly put delay on one piano and flanger on their other since they are in different effects groups. Powerful none the less! I love my Nord Piano 5.
Loved ur demo Wondering as to Which nord has the best sounding piano ? Piano 5 Vs Grand Vs Stage And do they midi and key Transpose. Forgive the noob questions I am tasked with buying an instrument which will be played by both a novice with 13 months of learning as well as a pro with 15 years of experience
Good info, there have been many times that I would have liked to be able to have an easy way to layer two pianos. I’m so close to deciding to order an NP5, but it’s like 50/50 trying to decide whether to get a Korg SV2, or the NP5. I think that I would like the keybed feel of the Nord 5, because I know I like Fatar’s keybeds, but have not had much luck in trying to research which keybed Nord has used with the 5. I’ve read at least three different speculations about it on Piano Forums, so I can’t be sure. One says that they have used one of Fatar’s harder feel keybeds, does it feel harder to play than a Numa X Piano GT ?
Nord Piano 5 uses Fatar TP40H key action. Nord tweaks these and uses their firmware to match what instrument you're playing. Some piano samples will seem like a harder action while other will seem like a lighter action. There's always the key "touch" setting on the board to change this to what you want.
You know Chuck if you ever want to do a show via Key Biscayne radio. All we need is your permission to play your tunes and a phone call to the station. Just an idea for the future.
Ah Chuck, I have a connection to Hendrix now that I rewound some parts of this wonderful vid ( to hear some of the latter music again( Great stuff btw) on my PC . Before I was watching on the phone. Sounds better with the speakers! From 74 till about 1980 one of my best pals was Joe Pesci who worked in a restaurant Amicis on 187th and Hoffman street in the Bronx. That was the same place that the movie Marty was filmed in ( winner of 2 academy awards) but it was called Michaels back then. Pesci always wanted to be a singer and not an actor . But he wasn't that good-:) He would eat in my Deli every day but I would never charge him ($3.90 back then) BUT his gig was singing table to table in the restaurant. I gave him the freebie NOT to come to my table and sing. My GF would say "Oh no here he comes"!! lol. he was a joker . I just see that the place is for rent now and the name was changed to Panevino. 566 Hoffman St. Sad how things change. Anyway he did join Joey Dee and the Starlighters for a short while ( they were about done by that time he joined) BUT when he left Hendricks took his place and I did a radio show about this which is on RUclips( They filmed it (Key Biscayne Radio) Also ( so they say) one day Hendricks was looking for a guitar in Manny's NYC and the great Luthier John D'Angelico was there because they usually put one of his guitars in the window. Hendricks saw him and said "John when are you going to make me a guitar" and John said "when you learn how to play". John D was particular how his babies were treated and Jimmy was way to hard on his instruments. So no D'Angelico for Hendricks but he had some great Fenders! Later on 2008 till 2013 I did a lot of charities with Cliff Williams ( not my kind of music ) but what a great humble guy, Thanks for listening ( I had to vent after todays going on's) Stay safe Chuck!

Can You Change the Tuning on Nord 5? For instance. I need to Tune Down to an Old Out of Tune Piano. Also I Never tune to A440. I need to be able to select my own Semitone Octaves.
So Chuck, they've kind of done the AB Panel thing like on the Stage 3, right? I mean I can do the same thing on my NS3 although I understand the action on the NP5 is better.
Kind of - yes! But most pianists don't need synth or organ functions, hence don't need to spend the kind of money for a Stage 3 when they can get more piano-oriented features (such as the key action) on the Piano 5.
Wow just Wow! This is my dream piano! I will own this very soon! 👏👏👏👏
Good choice!

Dude I love your playing and it is all good but I want to know how to store those sounds and use them. Do you have a video on that?
Would you say the 73 keys version would cover most use cases?

You should research those 3 models you referenced - they're aimed at different markets (piano samples are the same).
