The way he spoke, mannerisms, the joking then sudden seriousness, the disconnect from reality.... His acting went to another level in this episode!
If Johnathan Majors loses the role of Kang in Marvel, Damson would be a GREAT replacement...

To those saying that the series finale was trash, y'all bugging bad!! That finale was fkn epic!! There's sooo many layers to peel back that gives the entire series its breakdown to *"choices/decisions."* Since the beginning, Cissy never wanted Franklin in that life but Franklin never listened to his mom. He was focused on the money. Leon was tough, project raised, the heart of being "G." Louie was about wanting to be her own boss, making her own decisions, doing what she wanted, how she wanted. V stood by Franklin, despite her not wanting to be apart of Franklin's business but at the same time, V helped Franklin get his "development vision" off the ground. The ol saying: *"a bird in hand is better than two in the bush"* applies to Franklin. Yes, Franklin was so close to getting ½ of his money back but he didn't and because of that, he became irresponsible. V offered that "responsibility phase" to Franklin by sending that guy over to sell his development but Franklin refused. Why? Because he was still gunning for the "two birds in the bush." Despite losing that money, Franklin still had his Development properties, along wit lines of credit, the two things that can get you back in the game!! V saw it. Franklin didn't. Franklin had every opportunity to get back in the game but because he only saw "one thing," he missed out on the opportunities that was right in front of him, that he already had. Louie said she wanted to be her own boss. She fail to realize that even a boss answers to someone or something. *SHE* was the ultimate catalyst that caused their ENTIRE DOWNFALL by going behind Franklin's back to Teddy and that spawned a chain reaction that got completely out of hand!! In the end, she's curled up in a barn, dirty and dingy, why? Because *SHE* wanted to be THE FACE and that FACE is what the FBI and the DEA is after.... SmMFh. Cissy never cared about the money, nor the business. She cared about her son doing the right thing, which he never did, and her love she rekindled wit Alton. When Alton was killed, she said she "died" with him because he wanted out of that life after getting out of the life as a alcoholic. Franklin's decisions allowed so much to happen but Franklin can't see it. So, Cissy killing Teddy was her saying "I'm dead and I'm done." She was at peace, even tho she got locked up, because Alton was dead, along wit Jerome being killed, she was already dead, mentally, and because Franklin was out of control, she had nothing to live for, anymore. Now, Leon on the other hand, was the one catalyst that listened and took heed to advice that came his way throughout the series. That's why Cissy talked to him when she was in jail and how she was so proud of Leon because Leon *"changed."* He went from being in the drug game, poisoning his people, to building a rehabilitation facility to help his people. The moral of it all is *"THE CHOICES WE MAKE BECOMES THE LIFESTYLE WE CHOOSE TO LIVE."* SNOWFALL WAS EPIC!!!

The issue I have with a lot of people and yourself on this ending is they put everything on Saint like it’s all his fault. Was he really greedy in the end? I’d argue no almost anybody would of acted the way Saint did in S5 and 6. He was gonna get out the drug game and live life with his family but that was snatched from him by others out of spite. And then his family betrayed him because they were greedy too. Cissy is prolly the biggest reason for Saint’s downfall she was a hypocrite in the end. She wanted Teddy to live when she thought Alton was alive . But as soon as She finds out how stupid she is she rages out and tries to hide it with some moral compass like she was a martyr when in actuality she was just a vengeful spirit facing her consequences. She praises Leon even though he is exactly like Saint outside of caring a little more about his community. Leon is still a drug dealer and the money he’s gonna use to fund her shelter is blood money much like the blood money she bashed Saint for having. I did not expect a happy ending for Saint but I did expect the characters other than Saint to have more accountability. All throughout the seasons it’s always been characters blaming Saint for their issues, some have valid points but we see almost zero accountability esp from characters like Louie who even after Jerome’s death she doesn’t really self reflect. All and all I loved Snowfall I do however figure it would have been a lot better if John Singleton didn’t pass away sadly.

To me, the biggest antagonists outside of teddy was franklin’s own family. His mom who no matter what he did kept treating him like her innocent little boy being negatively influenced by evil teddy in her eyes even though franklin was a grown man who made and understood his own choices. His father, who wasn’t in his life to instill discipline and direction into him and when he came back and tried to, it was too late and franklin was too far gone. Uncle Jerome (best character in the show) who knew franklin starting what he did was a bad idea from the start but became ok with it cause of the money and lifestyle he gained until he realized non of it mattered at the cost of seeing his family fall apart. And louie, who was guided by riches from the start, so much to the point that she went behind franklin’s back to gain a false of independence cause teddy would’ve done the same to her like he did to franklin if she wanted out. And finally, franklin’s own desperation was the cause of his rise and downfall. He had many opportunities to get out with something and chose to stay until he lost everything. I re-watched season 5 this past week, and I am now convinced that Teddy was always going to seize at least a significant portion of Franklin assets. Teddy met with the asset recovery guy before Franklin said anything about getting out of the game. What precipitated Teddy's move was the Spring Street project. Remember, Teddy was extremely pissed about it and demanded that Franklin pull out of the deal, fearing (correctly) that it was way too high-profile for all of them. When Teddy could no longer control Franklin, it was time for Teddy to burn Franklin and recover whatever assets Franklin had for the CIA -- standard operating procedures.
Who knows? Maybe Teddy might have let Franklin keep some of the money had Teddy not been so pissed, but taking all of the money insured that Franklin could not continue with the Spring Street project, which was about as bad of an idea as Ghost running for public office on Power.

You know when everyone thinks about how drug dealers end up they think Scarface or they wind up in jail for the rest of their lives. Franklin suffered the worst fate someone like him could endure; Karma. He winds up living the life that made him so much money and that’s the life of an addict. Only it’s worse for him because he had it ALL. Money, power, influence. Now he’s a drunk getting evicted and happy to get $20.00 dollars for more liquor. He has a son he probably will never know. He lost the love of a woman who had his back. His friends and family are dead or estranged and the ONE good friend he had left could only cry watching him walk away with his $20.00 bottle of liquor. This is possibly the saddest character ending I’ve ever seen and yet inevitable.

Franklin on the other hand only ever stood for the money, and killed an innocent repairman, tred to scam his friend, and was willing to sell his mother's own house to get money.
Cissy saved him by killing Teddy, shit honestly Franklin would've been in jail, and even when not talking to him, she still provided him with a place to stay for years by not signing away the house, likely in hopes that franklin would get it together and make something of it.

It ain't about Franklin being a man or making choices. For Sissy it was about saving her son. She lost her husband to the government, lost her brother to the streets, she didn't want to lose her son to greed.
So she sacrificed her own freedom to at least leave him a home to build out of, freedom to get back on his feet, and opportunity to learn.

So Veronique was forced to either take the money and run or let Franklin invest it all in the Spring Street property, only to lose it all in foreclosure eventually. Veronique perceived Franklin's irrationality and that she and their unborn child were headed to the poor house with Franklin.

Of all the available decision paths, Franklin was taking the most foolish one.
Basically, Veronique understood that Franklin was going to dump all of that money into the commercial property only to lose everything in foreclosure at the end, which is exactly what happened to Franklin 3 months later. After Veronique cleaned him out, he still could have sold that property for something, which would have been better than nothing.
Franklin had put millions into the Spring Street property before Teddy stole all his money. Then Franklin put the money from his penthouse and the money he stole from Louie and Jerome into that property as well. If Franklin had sold the Spring Street property under construction and received even 25% of his investment, he still might have come out with a couple of million dollars -- a damn good outcome considering how he ultimately ended up. Ironically, in letting that property go into foreclosure, the man who was interested in buying it probably got it for less than he would have paid Franklin.

They say a spin off is coming, so maybe Franklin gets redeemed in that. Alton didn’t die like that, so Franklin doesn’t either necessarily.

    1. Cici had to kill the monsters (Franklin & Ted) she helped create. Felt responsible. Saw the whole picture. She knew it would never end, CIA wudnt let him keep $ or Punished for torturing Ted, Or new handler. Either way Franklin stays corrupt and destroys community.
    2. Leon given opportunity by Franklin’s friendship, knowledge, access AND most importantly Franklin saved LEON at his lowest (when he was the monster)!!! Leon got a chance to reach his true potential. He comes to save Franklin but Franklin is too far gone. Too many urban blacks corrupted, killed or imprisoned before they can see the light and reach their full potential.
    3. We are all damaged goods. Louie: “abused” therefore wanted respect & power.
Uncle: military “PTSD” and “Captain Save-A-Hoe.”
Oso: “lonely” so manipulated looking for family love.
Cici: “broken down” bills, job, husband, losing son (figuratively) so explores drug option.
Leon: “hood culture” made him a young animal.
    4. Franklin & Ted (mirror: white/black, urban/suburban, wife & child, validation for EVIL acts JUSTIFIED in own mind) completely corrupted. Their parents, the system, the culture and ultimately themselves were all factors in them becoming a monsters. The lie of potential that you can be “anything” breeds the best among us to often take a dark path. Instead, if the elders actually guided them to become something more specific their skills may have been a benefit to all.

Yes, it was truly greed and naivete. Teddy kept warning Franklin about being so sloppy in season 5, and Franklin somehow thought he could be in so deep with the CIA -- and someone like Teddy in particular -- while still keeping 73 million dollars *in a bank.*
Franklin was okay having the stash that Peaches knew about, but Franklin should have also had a secret secret stash that no one else knew about.
It is amazing how often character overrules circumstances. In the end, it happened on this show just as it does in life. Franklin's ego wouldn't allow him to take the L and leverage the few million he could have made for the sale of that money pit commercial building. Franklin could have combined that with the money he already had on hand, and he and Veronique would have been set damn near for life. A few million dollars is a good nestegg even today, but it was outright wealth 30 years ago.
In the end, I didn't blame a Veronique one bit for what she had to do. Franklin was going downhill fast, and if she stayed, she and their baby would have hit rock bottom with him.

The realistic ending would have had Franklin get killed by the CIA to coverup their involvement in the crack epidemic so in a way this was the best outcome for Franklin. People are forgetting that over the last few seasons we slowly saw Franklin become unhinged because of the money and typically things never end well for those types of people. If he had gotten his money from Teddy no good would have come from it because it was already too late, Franklin had crossed the point of no return with his actions. Whether Teddy lived or died he was never going to win as much as most fans would have rather seen. Even Leon, who was the closest thing to a voice of reason along with Cissy, couldn't reach him. About the only thing I feel was unresolved was seeing the demise of Louie. Her actions directly impacted the demise of Jerome, Franklin, and Cissy. Leaving her on the run from the DEA was just not a satisfying end to her as there was no final resolution. It's implied she eventually will get caught.
