What another backflash to the 80'ies with Drab Majesty (and of course Rachel Goswell), it's so amazing. For me, the 80'ies never disappeared....after 1989, there was 1980, reloaded!

Between this and the new Slowdive album coming out (yay, Rachel G!), this promises to be a great summer of incredible new music.
Wasn't quite as struck by this one at first as I was their previous work. This is a very complex song with a lot going on. After several listens though and time to digest it, you can really see it for the highly intelligent masterpiece it is. Really looking forward to the new EP!
This song is genius, utter musical mastery, perfection of form.
You described my first encounter with Drab. I remember Ellipsis being recommended to me on RUclips. I listened to it and thought to myself "who the hell would enjoy this?" The very next day while at work, I found myself thinking about the song and how I wanted to listen to it again. I then went on a Drab bender for a solid two months.

I randomly came across dot in the sky on a Spotify playlist and had The Demonstration on repeat. Modern Mirror I loved on first listen. Immediately gelled with that. With Careless, I immediately got on with The Foyer and the rest of the album was a slow burner for me.
In the end though, I find I love every single thing they’ve released and this also goes for VR Sex as well. It’s really exciting to have an artist who seems incapable of releasing a bad song, so always excited to see what Drab or VR come up with next.

This video is incredibly powerful. Memories of so many friends who've experienced homelessness, bigotry, addiction, psychosis, and their friends too, the folks I meet every day, everyone who is pushing through and everyone we've lost. And memories of myself because I am pushing through.

the beginning is just thrilling
Very beautiful song. I think i'm hearing a nod to vai's "for the love of god" at 2:38-2:42 which is very interesting, especially when one considers the "exotic" melodies in "cape perpetua" and in general the always exciting guitars in drab majesty songs as well. Can't wait to see you guys for the second time in athens.

I really love how this song makes me think of VR SEX. "When vanity raids your intellect / Your mind's erasing" reminds me of the chorus from Glutton for Love - "Can be a glutton for love but your mind is the trade". It's very interesting to see Andrew Clinco's different approaches to the same themes!

Rachel is not listed anywhere in the credits except for the upcoming release, so I'm confused by your comment.

You really don't need confirmation on whether this song is or isn't absolutely incredible. Why? Rachel Goswell?!!!...AND DRAB MAJESTY?!!! In pure shock and dismay, at 2:58 in the morning, I literally had to stop and do a mental check to make sure that it was real. Was it really who I thought it was? I just couldn't believe it. Then after starting the song the goosebumps came almost immediately. It's that good. New music from DM, Slowdive, P.J. Harvey, AND Thom Yorke all in the same month!!!. If the world ended right here and now, it would be o.k., I could die happy.
