Poschiavo - in the heart of the Puschlav

Today we are in Poschiavo, in the south of the canton of Graubünden in Switzerland. We notice a Mediterranean attitude towards life in the midst of an alpine backdrop. Poschiavo, the site of which is protected because of its historical importance. The place also stands for culinary delights and cultural wealth.

Young and old love the green “spätzli”, which owe their color to the spinach (or, depending on the season, the nettles). They are served with cheese, butter and garlic. Every housewife has her own recipe that is passed on from generation to generation. According to some recipes, it also includes potatoes cut into cubes, for example.

Thank you for bringing back wonderful memories. Poschiavo was our first stay after landing in Zurich. Took the Bahn all the way there for 4 nights. Stayed in Cafe Semadeni, ate dinners at Hotel Albici. Explored Morteratsch glacier, Lago Bianco, Hutte Sassal Mason, Cavalgia, and Museo D’Arte Casa Console. Continued on to Tirano and Lake Como. It is nice that Poschiavo has a hospital too. Had beautiful weather too in September of 2014. Wonderful memories.

Die meisten denken, wenn man von italienischer Schweiz spricht nur ans Tessin. Dass es noch so schöne Orte im Kanton Graubünden gibt, vergessen viele. Herzlichen Dank für das gelungene Video.

Gute Frage, jene Leute, mit denen ich Kontakt hatte, waren sehr zuvorkommend - humorvoll; sehr hilfsbereit - allerdings waren es hauptsächlich Personen, die in irgendeiner Weise vom Tourismus profitieren 😏
