It’s been 2 months now and Wjsn are number 4 on my ult list!!! Luv the girls to death. Stan em. ❤️
Tenzin Nordon yup now i’ve gotten into them more they seem amazing ❤️ I just meant in america cuz i’ve never heard of them! Sry i should have been more specific lol!
WJSN is a complete group, they have talent, vocal, dance, visual, charisma, besides being very dedicated and cute. Please check out the MV of their last comebback "butterfly". They also covered EXO's tempo and love shot.
For the most part, boy groups cover girl groups as more of a joke than anything else and put little to no effort in and it shows. When girl groups cover boy groups, they go all out, and honestly, I like them more than the original. The way that they do it matches the original artist but adds a little bit of their personal touch in it and I just think that it is amazing. If you had to pick about your favorite cover where the original artist was the opposite gender, more than likely they will pick a girl group covering a boy group song.
Bcs society still looking at boys act feminine as a joke. You know what? Even I watched girlgroup members who being mentors on a boys show, then these girls ask a boy for dancing one of their (girl group) song, it's a feminine-cute song, and then the boy started dance seriously, with a good movements and cute expression, but the girlgroup members itselves who laugh at him :).
@@seizmicsm There's a difference. Stray Kids did a fantastic job of covering Fancy by Twice. They made it cutesy while still respecting the dance and the song. I'm talking about groups like Ikon when they put on dresses and mocked a Gfriend performance where they kept falling down because of the rain.
There are some bg that cover gs really well and are overshadowed by the ones who do them as jokes (aka wigs and short dresses) maybe a compilation of those good ones would be really satisfying 😌
you guys should hear the whole intro before commenting, NO dance cover here and of course NO all the covers that exist so please stop it with those comments, thank u. also, this is just made for fun, everything i said was as a joke, so don't even dare to have the "bg stans vs gg stans" fight in the comments, because 1) i'll laugh at you and 2) i'll delete your comment, so have a good time and enjoy the video, luv u all
Wjsn covering alligator with harnesses and leather pants,, they said we aren't covering monsta x, we ARE monsta x Also i saw no one talk about the unit's jackpot cover???? Like?? That stunned me their v o c a l s
Boy’s : Haha we are going to cover girl groups songs wearing wigs and short dresses because we think doing bare minimum work is super funny. Other boy’s : we’re just going to change the femininity feeling in this song and other things 100% because doing those moves might hurt our masculinity so bad, also we ain’t even bothering to think about the idea of lowering the pitch to fit our singing haha. The boyz ; What we gonna do- waIt- Wha-
so I agree about the boyz being iconic! but I'm confused about the idea that it's bad to make feminine moves more masculine in a cover, while it's simultaneously bad to keep the feminine pitch? I get it with the thought that it's bad if they think a choreo would hurt their masculinity, but dancing in a more masculine way doesn't equal toxic masculinity right?
Fieshs Fieshs hm, what I meant by lowering the pitch is that some boy’s ( not all ) don’t have the ability to sing in a high pitch like, how can I explain ? Some boy’s have a rather deep gravel voice ? And sometimes when they try to hit a high note it come out more chocked ? Some idols don’t have a real expanded voice range which makes them struggle to hit the same note so that’s why basically better to change a bit of the pitch to fit the singers on, so the cover won’t come as breathy and chokey- stuff ? :0 and also you see some and again I say ( some ) not all male idols usually cover the girl group song / dance while changing the whole whole idea / choreography / beat, which at first you may think is a new song but turns out to be a cover they may not mean anything bad by it but some people will think they may attended or attempted to make the moves masculine to avoid hurting their masculinity because other girls groups usually cover the boy’s songs and nail the same move they do without being ’ disgusted / ashamed / shy ‘ by it after all music does not identify sexuality nor gender so why is it hard to keep the same choreography? They can add their own flavor and such but does it have to change so drastically that they make a new song instead of a cover ? Maybe they are afraid of being judged god knows Korea is a really sick country overcome with the hate towards anything different or new :( people need a generation that’s strong and forces the male on and female on standards, on other hand there is boy’s whom cover the girl group song lazily or more as a ‘ joke ‘ you see them wearing the same ( shorts / dress / etc ) as the female idol while also wearing a wig ( and they don’t even bother to set it properly because the more it slips the funnier it is right ? ) honestly I don’t mind if an male idol openly wears that, after all clothes has no gender but when honestly they suddenly start to dance ? it’s seems forced like ‘ haha laugh please, laugh now. ‘ even with the vocals they don’t even try hard they don’t they just do anything jump around twist their skirts / dresses and call it a day off which pisses me off really, because a real cover takes real preparation and choreography learning and vocal nailing and they don’t even bother which is really sad.
Fieshs + to answer the ‘ dancing more masculine doesn’t = toxic masculinity ‘ I agree with your point, but it’s really gets kind of ,,, cringe- I guess, let me explain what I mean exactly before I get attacked. Let me take twice’s ‘ dance the night away ‘ for example, it’s a rather adorable concept filled with a wonderful side dish of glamour on the beach and a hint of elegant. Let’s now take a male group and make them dance to it with ‘ masculinity ‘ ‘ bad boy style ‘ or something ‘ of course, the beat is soft and to die for but when you see the male dancing to it you’re just ‘ okay- calm down please ? ‘ the flow and the major of the cover is just way off right ? but let’s bring a rather elegant male who doesn’t let a song define his equality and sexuality anyway, he dances with a great flow and gives the actual strong move the power it deserves wouldn’t that be wonderful ? but anyway that’s my opinion if the group wants to add their own twist and flavor to the song let them be, it’s their own choice we all love to share our own thoughts and opinions on things I guess, and let me say honey ! Did you see the boyz ??? Of course you did but let me tell you, they are a great example of ‘ how to cover a gg song so greatly ‘ they are literally wearing black on black clothing while singing cheer up they nailed the choreography and such without having to go all hardcore and bad boy etc style, it’s so comforting to watch, and let me say sis when they sang ‘ be a real man ‘ my heart dropped, the level of confidence was so feral and high, watching them dance was so beautiful and a never recruiting memory sigh.
@@therealeros.5235 no I agree! it's definitely better to get the right pitch for guys, I was just a bit confused about not allowing them to change choreography then. but I agree with your points! I personally really like when dancers/groups add their own flavor to a cover (because a "cover" is never meant to be the original either way). It shows creativity and to me seems like they thought about the dance and wanted to improve on it for themselves. (I'm strictly thinking about Astro Rocky's cover of Snapping here - he got a bunch of hate for that, even though it's so well crafted and fit his style while still respecting the original) but I agree that if there are too too many changes, it's not a cover but an original choreography. and if that original choreography doesn't fit the song at all, it would obviously be weird. Basically as long as they work hard on making good covers and respecting the original, I'm happy. The Boyz do it really well! And A.C.E comes to mind too. A.C.E's main dancer Byeongkwan has mentioned that he finds it hard to dance to girl groups because they require so much body control. They really try hard on their gg covers too! Love their gg song covers too
if you really think about it girl groups get hate if they don’t do the dance right but boy groups don’t because they simply didn’t know the dance but what about the girl groups are they supposed to know all dances. the double standard jumped out hunny bunny
Why is it that when girls do some bg song it's frikkin iconic?? But if boys do gg songs it's culturally unaccepted (?) or what? Anyways stream chuu's ost!!
i don’t know if this is really relevant, but i think it’s because MOST not all, bg that cover gg , they just slap on a wig and indirectly or directly make fun of the original song, while most gg take it serious, and even put their own spin on the song they are covering
I guess it's because boys tryna be 'feminine' can be a bit funny(?) Purposely or not... And who can't keep a straight face if you'll see a muscular man wearing a wig and a tight sexy dress?
@@nap_alie759 The problem is that they don't have to wear a wig and tight dress. They can wear regular clothes they wear. and its not just that they also do actions that can be seen as offensive. I can't remember which group it was but I rember the big controversy around it because they kept purposely falling over when they covered a gfriend song. so it's a multitude of problems. yes it is funny to see a guy in a dress and wig but it's the intention behind it that's the problem
-Loona show us the vibe and the energy we deserve, the synchronization and the power of a boys groups .💥💪🏻 -WJSN show us the sexy and coolest moves, amazing visuals and they are so fluid like the boys groups. 😎👌🏻 Pd. Sorry for my English.
Girl groups would be dragged through the mud if they butchered a bg song like bgs do to ggs. But even if they weren't they would still be performing them as good as they do
i absolutely loved momo covering taemin's move but ngl at the same time i feel like no one has the same kind of... controlled movement that he does, ig? but she did totally embody the energy imo
I especially love CLC's Black Suit cover because I remember the SJ guys having a really hard time learning it and CLC just went out and killed it. I can just imagine them saying "what, like it's hard?"
I hate this whole bg vs gg war, why can't we support both instead of degrading one. Bg stans can be SO misogynistic and Gg stans can be so sexist. Man I'm just here to listen to Kpop.
hm, for me it's not a war tho, i'm neither a bg or a gg stan, but the facts are the facts and women have all their right to feel offended or mad when a men (even if they stan them) makes fun of a whole genre, for me, the bg covers have been sooooooo much better than before bs the society has changed too, and for better, but it's literally the minimum, i guess that gg stans are also tired of bg stans talking shit when their girls make a cover and it's not powerful enough for them but when their male bias do summ "funny" as a cover it's an icon, there's like a wild and long history behind this so idk,,,,,
@@unloyalstan5654 people get annoyed really fast these days too:( i'm neither bg or gg stan and i just try to follow people who think like me on social media so i read the minimum about huge ass fights,,,, with what i said in the video prob some people would get mad but it's literally just a kpop video made for fun and as i said, i love most of the original bg singers lol

All their voices are BEAUTIFUL I LOVE IT SO MUCH I STILL STREAM IT-
as a bg stan, i can say i like most gg covers of bg songs better than the original.. the reason i don't stan ggs is because of the stereotype of the high pitched voice, etc. usually the overall sound just gives me a headache, but they can finally just show their real talent when they do a cover of a bg song...
Maybe you just dont listen the GG who dont have High pitched voice. Dreamcatcher is so good doing cover from BG because they dont have cute or sexy concept, and their rock music makes then use a lower voice too.
i don't agree w u but i can totally see why you think like this, i used to like only the female badass concepts when i got into kpop and get annoyed with cute songs but i kinda push myself to listen to different music because not everyone sings like a child and i actually found some masterpieces and my favorite styles, i think that some girl groups can't show their full potential with their concepts but they're still showing talent, like just by debuting and being able to dance, sing, rap at the same time and even with uncomfortable clothes and shoes are showing off their professionalism and talent
Dang you could've literally put "iconic" as the title and it still would've been accurate. I didn't ask to be attacked like this All of these groups are queens. Period. Dot. That's it.
The point you made about boy groups covering girl groups in a.....way? FLAWLESS. You are absolutely RIGHT. I'm happy that nowadays boy groups started covering girl groups in a serious way (tho it's kinda sad to get happy about something that should have been normal from the start). But well once again, girl groups show us all what professionalism looks like
When some boy groups do covers it's almost like they're mocking the girl groups. I love it when they are actually respectful and not making a fiasco of it. If girls did what some of the boy groups have done with their songs then they would get SO MUCH HATE. Talk about double standards.

Edit: Thanks for the help!

WJSN has one of the best discographies in kpop and their vocals are insaneeee
WJSN is a complete group, they have talent, vocal, dance, visual, charisma, besides being very dedicated and cute. Please check out the MV of their last comebback "butterfly". They also covered EXO's tempo and love shot.
@@mauve99 yesss omg their love shot cover is iconic
For the most part, boy groups cover girl groups as more of a joke than anything else and put little to no effort in and it shows. When girl groups cover boy groups, they go all out, and honestly, I like them more than the original. The way that they do it matches the original artist but adds a little bit of their personal touch in it and I just think that it is amazing. If you had to pick about your favorite cover where the original artist was the opposite gender, more than likely they will pick a girl group covering a boy group song.
Oh that's why stray kids is the best when covering a girl group songs ☺️☺️
@Z but i think its not the boys choices to dress up like girls, their company
probably makes them do that
Bcs society still looking at boys act feminine as a joke.
@@Pfr-n7i ugh that’s so annoying and disgusting.. my image of ikon has changed now 🙄
Dreamcatcher legends covering bang bang bang. pls support their new comeback on Aug 17th
I’m still not over Dreamcatcher saying “girls go up, boys go down” or whatever the line was. Either way they’re queens 🤩
There are some bg that cover gs really well and are overshadowed by the ones who do them as jokes (aka wigs and short dresses) maybe a compilation of those good ones would be really satisfying 😌

you guys should hear the whole intro before commenting, NO dance cover here and of course NO all the covers that exist so please stop it with those comments, thank u. also, this is just made for fun, everything i said was as a joke, so don't even dare to have the "bg stans vs gg stans" fight in the comments, because 1) i'll laugh at you and 2) i'll delete your comment, so have a good time and enjoy the video, luv u all
I understood what u said as ggs are better at covering bg songs than bgs are a covering gg songs (coz they're not even serious)
I knew Dreamcatcher was going to be here but I was also expecting (G)I-DLEs fake love cover and IZ*ONE’s boy group covers
You should also see ywy exo cover! It's great af
I feel like people are attacking you just cuz the way you worded it smh

Why aren’t y’all taking about the units jackpot cover? It was so good!!
Yes! I miss Heejin, though, so I get sad when I watch it.
The boyz ; What we gonna do- waIt- Wha-
the boyz remain iconc with EVERY SINGLE gg cover they have ever done
so I agree about the boyz being iconic! but I'm confused about the idea that it's bad to make feminine moves more masculine in a cover, while it's simultaneously bad to keep the feminine pitch?
I saw Dreamcatcher I click the video. No matter what other say, I still think Dreamcatcher the best!! They are queens!! 👑❤❤❤
I died at IU's rainism. I have the biggest crush on her 😍
Why is it that when girls do some bg song it's frikkin iconic?? But if boys do gg songs it's culturally unaccepted (?) or what?
Anyways stream chuu's ost!!
culturally unaccepted KJSHFKSDJH i guess it's because some of them do it as a joke but most gg actually take it serious,,,,
I don't know, but I really like Seventeen's girl group medley.
i don’t know if this is really relevant, but i think it’s because MOST not all, bg that cover gg , they just slap on a wig and indirectly or directly make fun of the original song, while most gg take it serious, and even put their own spin on the song they are covering
-Loona show us the vibe and the energy we deserve, the synchronization and the power of a boys groups .💥💪🏻

I hate this whole bg vs gg war, why can't we support both instead of degrading one. Bg stans can be SO misogynistic and Gg stans can be so sexist. Man I'm just here to listen to Kpop.
I'm a gg stan and I agree. Why can't we just get along? :(
hm, for me it's not a war tho, i'm neither a bg or a gg stan, but the facts are the facts and women have all their right to feel offended or mad when a men (even if they stan them) makes fun of a whole genre, for me, the bg covers have been sooooooo much better than before bs the society has changed too, and for better, but it's literally the minimum, i guess that gg stans are also tired of bg stans talking shit when their girls make a cover and it's not powerful enough for them but when their male bias do summ "funny" as a cover it's an icon, there's like a wild and long history behind this so idk,,,,,
@@unloyalstan5654 people get annoyed really fast these days too:( i'm neither bg or gg stan and i just try to follow people who think like me on social media so i read the minimum about huge ass fights,,,, with what i said in the video prob some people would get mad but it's literally just a kpop video made for fun and as i said, i love most of the original bg singers lol

and the 8:10 time stamp will remain HISTORY and iconic and edfghnkajshdbdnwjkmkkskdfjhjdks in my head.
