"Penny for the scapegoat." is a play on the phrase "Penny for the Guy." Guy Fawkes was basically the Govt's scapegoat.
"I don't give two Guy Fawkes." He went from making a peace sign to the English middle finger equivalent; the peace sign with the back of the hand towards the other person.
It is kind of the equivalent of the middle finger but they are both used in the same scenarios
Not peace sign, victory sign.
Peace sign is the the two fingers together, palm forward, done with the right hand.
@@RubberyCat To me they're interchangeable.
@@colt1903
?
How do you think "V" is the same as "ll" ?
@@RubberyCat I don't.
You might not have noticed but the cigar che threw lit the barrels to blow up guy
Che had the superior flow, but Guy had much better bars.
I agree was hard to pick a winner think this is one of the closest erb's
...except that "these skills are not evenly distributed" has nothing to do with socialism nor communism, as they were only for even distribution of power, influence, and to an extent, money.
NOT about skills.
Money was to be distributed first after need, then after ... professional requirements? i think it was.
So a blacksmith would first get after need (food and such), and after that, some more to get materials for smithing.
Nothing about skill being distributed.
Still, the merchandise of Che's picture is indeed a nasty bar, probably the worst/best in the entire battle.
RubberyCat it was a play on words my guy, he wasn’t saying communism was about even distribution of skills, he was simply tying the basis of even distribution into a diss
was just about to put that!
Well said lol
Bay of Pigs Latin is a super underrated line honestly
Yeah, I don't know if any reactors have gotten it yet. Granted it's a line that you have to hear twice to properly understand.
@@Windjammer19 be kind and explain please. dont get it even after watching it 10 times
@@davidabuashvili3158 so it's referencing the bay of pigs invasion by the US and the language pig Latin which was the umpch line
@@davidabuashvili3158 Honestly, I would suggest looking up a guide to Pig Latin, since I doubt i could explain it properly.
That being said, I'll do my best. Pig latin is a fake language that basically takes the first letter or consonant sound of a word and places it at the end and attaches an "eh" sound to it.
So your name "David" would be "Avid-Day"
When guy says, "You're an Ump Che." He is calling Guevara a Chump (Ump-Chay). Obviously that is an insult. He plays the words off of Che's name and refers to the Bay of Pigs invasion (some Cuban thing that I can't remember any details about).
Hope this helped.
@@FriskierHail that's what pig Latin is
Concerning the heads on spikes and people in the past.
Giant crowds would gather to watch public torture and executions, steal parts of the executed to sell as souvenirs.
People were savage.
That's still happening today, just not in first world countries
Oh man, nobody understands this bar.
“He’s Cuba Commander you’re more of the destro”.
Come on, none of ya’ll ever watched the G.I. Joe movies? It’s a perfect reference to ‘Cobra Commander’ and ‘Destro’, which is Cobra Commanders subject.
I'm not well versed with stuff like i dont know the dept's of things but i did always think that bar had something to do with Cobra Commander
Remember, remember!
The fifth of November,
The Gunpowder treason and plot;
I know of no reason
Why the Gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot!
Shame no one gets the ump-Che line
It took me 5 months to realize how clever that line is
Adamantium 1001
Not only that, but the phrase ”Bay of Pigs-Latin” is a reference to the Bay of Pigs Invasion, a decisive battle in the communist revolutions in Cuba, which Che was apart of
I know right? It's like no one's heard of pig latin anymore!
Oh, we do. It’s just more wordplay than fire.
"Remember Remember the 5th of November
The gunpowder treason and plot..."
The "I'm on fire" line in the end is a reference to that they used to burn effigy dolls of Guy Fawkes on the 5th of november.
Although Che had better flow, guy won.
Che attacked Guy's death mainly while guy attacked Che's beliefs.
That's how I felt too, a lot of the battles lately have been like that. One person has the better flow but then one of them has some super stinging harsh lines.
"We were some savages"
Lol what's changed
As a history buff, ERB, Sabaton, and Sabaton History are my favorite channels on RUclips, and Sabaton has been my favorite band since 2005 when my wife (girlfriend at the time) introduced me to their music. If you're into military history, I'd definitely recommend Sabaton. Some of their best songs are:
"Primo Victoria" about the D-Day invasion of Normandy during WW II
"Night Witches" about Night Bomber Regiment 588, an all-female Soviet bomber group in WW II
"To Hell and Back" about Audie Murphy, his struggle with PTSD, and the Battle of Anzio during WW II
"Screaming Eagles" about the 101st Airborne Div. and the Siege of Bastogne in WW II
"82nd All the Way" about SGT Alvin York during WW I
"40:1" (Live at Woodstock 2012) about the Battle of Wizna during WW II
"Attack of the Dead Men" about the Battle of Osowiec Fortress during WW I
"Purple Heart" about the U.S. military decoration from a recipient's point of view
Remember, remember, the Fifth of November
Gunpowder treason and plot
I see no reason why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot
Yep "Remember remember the 5th of November" November 5 was the day guy fawkes was caught with the gunpowder and best part is my birthday is the same day
skylarriddell my birthday is 1 day after,on 6th of November 🤣🤣
Guy Fawkes got caught because one of his co-conspirator wrote an anonymous letter saying "hypothetically what would happen if we blew up the parliament building"
On this episode from ERB is the battle between the two different revolutionaries who failed
Doc Rich, on the topic of heads on spikes. The people who ordered that thing never lived in the area to see that daily. In short the powerful don't have to deal with the issues of the rabble. And the rabble get to see a message.
Was waiting for this one
Keep doing your research, it makes your videos on these much better. Just remember that they vary their jokes so you might not get all of them anyway. One line in this one I don't think you got was the GI Joe reference. Fawkes says, "Face it Ernesto, your Castro but less so
he's Cuba Commander
your more of the Destro"
Cuba Commander is a play on Cobra Commander from GI Joe, and the character Destro is constantly depicted as the 2nd in command or "mercenary" villain. So Fawkes is saying that Che Guevara plays second string to Castro.
but also saying he is less than fidel castro the extremist.
Rich, you've never watched V for Vendetta?
good film
Don't watch that trash. Read the book.
@@ElPayasoMalo I guess comic.
He is the only one who also talks instead of just moving his body
Love you broo
If you think Guy Fawkes’ head on a spike it bad. Read about Vald III Dracul, better know as Vlad the Impaler (who was also the inspiration for dracula) he made forests out of the enemies that he impaled. These were often in strategic spots as to force other invading forces to walk though the forest of the dead and dying so last moments were them being suspended in the air by a spike in their belly.
Guy's hardest hitting line in my opinion was " you muddled your Economy like Mint in a Mojito" double meaning Mint as in Money and the herb Mint if used to much makes the Mojito bitter
Oh lol I thought it was the two different meanings of the word muddle - you muddle the mint into the cocktail (muddle also means to mix up-using a crushing action- some ingredient into a drink) both essentially mean mixed-up and disorganised
"You're famous cause of Alan Moore's third best book": umm... no. Guy Fawkes has been infamously incorporated into British culture for over 400 years. We're all even taught the rhyme to remember the event when we're little.
You missed the GI Joe reference cobra commander Cuba commander and destro was his second in command
che won with a very strong first verse, going after the failer to light a match and making it a double meaning for bad bars, to how guy is only known now cause of a book vs making a look be famous and ended with saying guy should throw the match like he did just before death
Remember Remember the 5th of November
The gunpowder treson and plot i see should have no reason.
And should. Never. Be. Forgotten.
-V from V for Vendetta
@@AlternateTimeRecords i realized it after i posted it but didnt have time to fix it but thank you i do appreciate it very much
Remember remember the 5th of November...
TheUnknownMax the gunpowder treason and plot.
...should ever be forgot..
Here in England on the 5th of November we celebrate a day called bonfire night mostly a BBQ and we light a nice bonfire to celebrate Guy Fawkes execution and obviously some people put like scarecrow in the bonfire fun night normally fireworks all night
"I had no idea who these guys were"
Ah the American education system, failing to teach you anything as usual.
Sometimes I'm wondering how is it possible some reactors don't know really famous people. They don't discuss anything with their friends etc? Watch movies? You can even learn stuff from there.
I can only imagine, how 10.000 years in the future someone would ask "Oh, you don't know that one famous person out of 3 billions that already existed!? That's disgusting!"
@@MilesProwerUA except it's way earlier than that, it's a few centuries at most and Che isn't even one century ago.
Майлз Прауер also there are levels of fame and these guys are quite high on that pyramid
@@antonford2074 Sure, but you can't expect everyone to know about him. Maybe a guy just not interested in history, or in revolutions.
Because, even tho Che is one of the most somewhat recent history figures, he did his great things in a pretty specific area, so again, you can't expect everyone to know him.
Is seeing a man's head on a stake any worse than finding a man hanging in the woods? No era is without fault.
5th November, Britain burns effigies of Guy Fawkes.
November 5th is Guy Fawkes day. They light up a statue ever 5th of November
He DID get hanged. In a way that killed him outright. The hanging was supposed to make him half-dead. The blades would've *eventually* brought death.
Che was on the 3 peso note.
hey man please react to *Kahel - Telefonemas (Official Video)*
its a brazilian underground trapper BUT he got an E.T on the video and the effects are on point..
please, react.
great song
The heads were used to show power and put fear in anyone who wanted to do anything that goes against them 😭😂😂
As a James 1st fan I have a vendetta against Fawkes. I hate that Guy (wa- wa). But the winning line was "As a communist it must really hurt to see your face, cheapened, weakened, besmirched. Being plastered on posters, coasters and shirts. Making capitalist rich off you on merch." If not for this line I would give it to Che for flow.
I wonder if he knew that the people involved in the gunpowder plot was hanged but before they died they were cut dow and had their junk cut off and then killed
That is a Mans Head!
Guevara was appointed Minister of Economy and he did that job poorly to say it kindly. Hence the line "you muddled your economy like mint in a mojito.
I agree the win goes to Fawkes in part because I think his lines were slightly better, but I also think part of a rap battle is boosting one's bars while dissing the opponent's. Guevara didn't have any comeback for comparing torture to his rap, or "this rhyme skills are not evenly distributed".
I was born with asthma and tbh mine is not bad it’s just seasonal like spring and fall when farmers get all their crops and the dust just if you listen hard enough you’ll just hear a whistle wheezing softly
i know something he missed after guy fawkes made the piece sign he twisted his hand and that is the british f you sign
But now he's world wide known as a group using his face and the name Anonymous
Remember remember the fifth of November, the gunpowder treason and plot. I know of no reason why the gunpowder treason should ever be forgot.
I usually give it to Guy to. I think both his comments about Che's communism strike hard. Like really...the idea that capitalists make money off his face must really make him turn in his grave. xD
Remember, remember the 5th of November.
You gotta react to the hulk vs broly rap battle from infinite source
good I just saw other black people think Guevara was the bad guy IRL
Remember remember the 5th of November
3:10 that's another thing about S O C I E T Y
Nooooo he didnt get the best line, "you're an ump-che that's bay of pigs latin"
That silly little piece of wordplay? It’s not even fire.
The 'you make capitalists rich off of merch' line was IMO Guy's instant win this battle. While both are failed revolutionaries, Che's failure was so collossal that the people he fought against are profiting off him. Che brought nothing in the 2nd half to bring it back from that
You should watch the movie V for Vendetta. It’s on Netflix right now!
Missed the rest of the Castro line. Where he calls Castro Cuba Commander and Che Destro.
Go to Mexico, you might see a head hanging from a bridge today.
I have sports-induced asthma and play soccer. The problem was I would forget my inhaler at home on accident. It wasn't fun...I'm supposed to play all 80 minutes and I'm having an asthma attack at 35...
Everton are shit
Ive read tgese comments but nobody has caught the catholic mass bars...
its horrible having asthma
think about this waking as your having an asthma attack nd not being able to breath
Guy = total failure as a person from this battle, Che = total winner. However, Guy represents fighting for something worthy, oh wait...nope. Well Guy has better bars about how Che died...never mind...um?
Rich where is the new AK reaction love your videos
what is that uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu if you are a wolf ı can understand
C'mon a Sam O Nella reaction
I think guy bodied che. Also you gotta react to sam o nella hes awesome.

Tbh for me che said i have my face on your roommate fridge. Which low the blow from guy's bar where he say people are making money off of him face on merch. This why i think che won

Che won 100% for me. The fact that Che made a "touching little boys" line on the catholic church, and Guy basically ignoring that and even being proud of being catholic to make a cheap word double meaning joke later kind of lost Guy a lot of points.
But hey, I'm neither a communist nor a catholic, so I don't have any vested interests in either. I'm just thinking that Che came out on top.
Guy Fawkes gave himself the biggest L: "This very battle disproves your communist initiative, these rhyme skills are not evenly distributed!"
The whole point of a Communist regime is to impart total equality and remove the chance of corruption (especially from the ones who implemented it: Note Stalin as its greatest failure). For his rhymes to really disprove it, his bars would have to be more so or better than everyone else's - as he was a main factor of Communism being implemented in Cuba.
Actual translation of Fawkes' line: 'This battle disproves Communism, as your raps are better than mine.'
Or equally plausible.. This Battle disproves Communism as MY raps are better than yours, which is far more likely what he meant
@@txaggievet Yeah WTF is this dude on about? It clearly means "my rhymes are far superior to yours."
