Servicing a Singer 2282 Tradition Sewing Machine and Testing its Ability

- I managed to save this Singer Tradition 2282 sewing machine from the scrap heap and was very surprised to discover its ability to sew thick layers of material.
I have the same machine and it started running a bit rough lately. thanks for showing how to open and oil it :)
I have the same ... please tell me where can I regulate the pression of the pressure foot....
I think I remember it only having one setting
Anyone know where I can get a service manual for this model… I have this and the timings all out of wack, I’ve managed to get it roughly working for straight stitch but the engineer in me wants it working right …. Thanks for any pointers
Not sure, sorry. Take it apart and see if something is jammed in it.
Yeah already done all that, all the mechanicals are moving smoothly … it’s just the timing that’s gone, I’ll keep digging there must be a general set of timing setting’s for these traditional style machines,

Yeah good luck, I can't remember but is the hook passing just before the eye of the needle goes upwards? Should be able to adjust the timing somewhere but not like the old machines are they where everything could easily be adjusted. I can't remember if the needle arm was adjustable or moulded into position.@@user-tm3ri9qs8b
@@RetroMods found a handy video that explains the hook should pass through the middle of the scarf on the needle, which makes perfect sense, I’ll start from there, thanks for taking the time to reply
How much do we need to open it and oil the different parts?
Take the panels off until you see all the working parts
