A bit of history...the tribe of the little people at the beginning of the movie are the ancestral parents of todays tribal people we know as the umpa-lumpas.
Notice, at 12:20 the actors, (my ass) are half bent over and swaying side to side. This is an early indication of a very very low budgeted production wherein the actors are paid in sandwiches and allowed to use the prop tents for sleeping. When the filming is done the tents are returned to the prop warehouse and the actors are removed from the property and sent back to the streets from whence they came. They were also told that they would be arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law if they ever tried to return. Again, as it should be.
