Yeah they do melt both snow and ice. I found it out when I was spawnproofing around my base on a snow biome, when I finished, it wasnt a snow biome anymore 😅

I'd give it a solid 9.5/10 seems slightly obvious but could be easily overlooked and the design is comfy and nice.
an interesting fact of the torch is that the stoves turned on can melt the snow. I also made houses out of snow and it all melted for me.
