Hey everyone, this is a very chilled and fairly chatty week vlog I made a couple of weeks ago! After sharing the news that I'm pregnant, I wanted to chat a bit about that so I obviously wrote 'pregnancy' to be clear in the title and I've added time stamps (in description) so you can skip sections if you're not interested. Pregnancy brings lots of emotions with it. I think it’s very normal to feel more of a connection with loved ones, dead or alive, during that time.
As a fellow photographer, I can concur that he would love the fact that Harvey is making fine use of the tele lens. Every time you see a photograph made using this lens, you'll see a part of your dad. x

Athena you really are a little darling...I had tears in my eyes at the start of this vlog and a big stupid smile when you were going through your shopping haul....and I’m a bloke.....!!!!!!!.....I sincerely wish you and Harvey all the best with your new arrival.....although a word from experience.....those little people do not travel light so perhaps trips on the hill will have to wait until you work out who is going to shoulder The Sherpa sized Bergen.

You're a great role model for all of us you're clearly so hardworking and positive despite being faced with such adversity in your life. On a separate note I'm so interested in learning about sustainability and pregnancy so please share whatever you're happy to, I think there is a big audience for it and undoubtedly you will add loads of value 🐱💕

Let me tell you how sorry I am for your loss. I’m afraid I can relate what you went through. My younger sister died almost 2 years ago but I really feel she’s with me. We’re still connected. We’ll make the most of our lives for them too, for those who left way too soon. Edit: loving the baby clothes! 💚 🐻

I started watching your videos because you visited the Outer Hebrides but now watch all of them. I love all the getting outside content and find it really relaxing to watch. I think the connection with your Dad & brother being pregnant is because yes as you say it's the cycle of life thing but also it's because you know in your heart just how thrilled they both would be at your news. Proud Grandad & Uncle. They will be with you all the way, always xx. I remembered watching the video and hadn't realised it had 'gone'. I am so glad you decided to make it public/ visible again. It is wonderful to listen and understand the hiking, adventuring Athena as also the mum-to-be Athena. When I was expecting my baby I felt elated but I also felt I had turned into a vessel, and felt a bit lost and scared about the change. Continuing to ride my bike(s) throughout pregnancy made me feel so empowered to continue being me. After my baby arrived I struggled with the change - a rollercoaster of emotions to be honest, happiness mixed with "oh no where is my old me, I will never be 'me' again" - it took me a long while to discover and create that amazing bond with my baby and I felt so guilty about it and that something was wrong with me, talking then to many other new mums I discovered it was totally normal. As women we are made to feel that motherhood means that a) if we love our kids then we have to sacrifice everything for them and b) it is all simply wonderful (Instagram doesn't help to be honest ha!). It is instead so important to normalise the tough bits too, and the more we can hear about the normal ups and downs of pregnancy and motherhood the more positive experiences all women can have!
Long comment to say, continue to be you, do the videos you want to do and keep sharing snippets of your pregnancy whenever you want. It is so lovely to see the joy and happiness in you and Harvey, and the balance that new life can bring to the sadness of loss of loved ones. Lots of love to you and your growing family! xx

Sorry to hear about your father but glad to see that Harvey has made a positive thing about it. I never forget the day my father died and this year I marked five years with a painting of a Blackpool tram at North Pier and put it on my Facebook page for all the family.
I like the way you chat about the places you visit on your walks without giving anything of the actual route. I like it to be up to your own experience and intelligence to plan where you go, not to follow. The mist-covered mountain views are fabulous. This is going to be an even more interesting channel in the next few years.

My partner and I just got back from a week in the Lake District and we hiked up from Wastwater towards Haystack but didn’t climb it, instead went towards Scoat Fell and over Pillar back down to Wasdale Head 😁
Red Pike was an option but we decided a slightly different route. Hopefully next time!! Thanks for a wonderful video!

I'm not even sure what fancy equipment exists out there but this works great!
Same I’ve just brought a camera and that’s the only bit of fancy equipment I own apart from my bikes 😂 but I’ve seen some youtubers using the recording mic but blankets are so versatile!

I love the way your videos show you living your life just the way it is wet washing and all! I had a little chuckle at this...sorry...but I love the way you show such mundane things! How lovely of your Mum to send you flowers for your Dads birthday too. The baby clothes are gorgeous and brought back memories of the excitement of first being pregnant to me....my daughter was born the same year as you so its quite some time ago! I had 2 home births (in the Netherlands) and they were brilliant, you feel so in control of things when you're in your own home and no pain relief was necessary due to I believe much lower anxiety levels. Good luck with your pregnancy journey I think its great that you are including it after all its a major part of your life right now....looking forward to following you in your future adventures ad a threesome.
