We had a Beckhoff conference in Denmark today. The news about Twincat 3 4026 is awesome indeed. Especially the package manager system. You can chose which sub package you want to have and give it specific names and so on. Custom packaged they called it. I asked of there will be a floating license server in the future for test purpose. I was told they could not tell me anything else that they are talking about it. So as a devobs data guy I have hopes for that it will become a thing. But twincat xar virtual machine sounds like a really nice thing. And a profiler inside the development enviroment ❤
@@JakobSagatowskiyes something like that 😊. Just to be able to spawn 10 instance of virtual machines to run unittest and integration test. That will really speed things up 😄. I am going to ask for it again in the Hi messe in Denmark 3 to 5 of Oktober again 😂. More details could be really nice
Thank you for this video! Regarding the issue with the separate packages of XAE and XAR: Probably beckhoff can separate this effectively now, because they have officially announced the usermode runtime. The reason why you could not create isolated cores at first was the missing runtime. The XAE probably simply doesn't have the permission to change anything in the operating system kernel. The XAR is known to dig very deep into the system. It's nice to have a better separation here now.
I wondered if you'd been trying 4026. I've been on the beta myself, it's definitely a vast improvement with some great features. Let's see when the release ever actually comes!
Hello, recently I dived in the PLCOpen association repository regarding OOP for automation. That has led me to the information that the "IEC 61131-3 3rd edition" allows creating classes in ST Language (CLASS ... END_CLASS). Why it's not possible in TwinCAT? Or maybe it will be in the newest release?
"Your System has an older version of Twincat installed. Please provide a clean System." I am getting this error while installing new version. But i unistalled everything from my PC. Any input?
The official Beckhoff website indicates that the 4026 will be released in the 1st quarter of 2024. After experiencing eye discomfort from the white background of the 4024 that I'm not allowed to change, I eagerly anticipate the release of the 4026 every day.(☆▽☆)
yeah finally. Now they just need a package manager for the developed software to ship immutable artifacts via a pipeline and then it's almost modern :)
I'd like to know if you're so confident on the package manager and the "requirements" file that you'll ditch entirely the Virtual Machine... I'm not ready yet 😁 Second thing: I'm hoping that the packet manager will support some kind of changelog... maybe Hans was waiting for this version to adopt the feature!
The TwinCAT 3 Runtime is supporting 64 Bit since the beginning (year 2010 or so). Only the TwinCAT 3 Engineering was limited to 32 Bit caused by Visual Studio. 👍
It looks like you can use a .config file to install the xar in one step. The gui shows this (twijn at-standaard-xar_4026.0.config) and the tcpkg install help mentions this too.
@@JakobSagatowski I hope they fix it, otherwise I might have to re-do the dark theme patch for this version as well ;( Although a much easier option to getting a nice UI/UX is to become a software engineer and stop using PLCs entirely.

Hey! Sounds exciting! You mean a floating license server for developer-licenses (like TE1200)? That would be cool!

Perfect video to watch on my vacation ;)
Perfect video to post on vacation! / Hälsningar från Skärgården :-)
Great video! Also, love your enthusiasm and excitement about 4026. I'm waiting patiently myself for the release to use on my projects.
You and me both!
Happy Christmas!
Thank you for this video!

It's really nice to have them completely separated now. I guess it's just another advantage that comes with the package manager.

Great video btw 🎉
Great Video!!!
Glad you enjoyed it!
CLI ftw!!!!
Dark mode missing for the properties and toolbox?

hallo jakob
Do you offer training on Twincat and software engineering?
Hi! Yes I do! Contact me through the contact form on www.sagatowski.com. Thanks!
Hello dear jakob . where can i download the Twincat package manager ?
I can not find it .
thanks
Hi! The link is provided in the video description.
Is it the same package manager ported from Twincat bsd?
Hi, remember that, actually, the Beckhoff account password can't include any special character, otherwise the installation fail to start

I'm going to have to wait for the full (non-beta) release and run it for a while before using it for any project 😊

only on older version of Visual studio :-). And it looks like Twincat would support visual studio 2022 :-D

Can I get a link to download TwinCAT 3.1.4026.0. ?
It has not been released yet. You have a link for the beta in the video description.
Thanks a lot !@@JakobSagatowski
Hello, why being in dark mode when you go online does it turn white again?
My guess it has to do with the CODESYS-dependency.
@@JakobSagatowski I hope they fix it, otherwise I might have to re-do the dark theme patch for this version as well ;( Although a much easier option to getting a nice UI/UX is to become a software engineer and stop using PLCs entirely.
Anyway, it is a huge package manager @ 231 MB...
