I‘m born in the 80‘s and always loved 80‘s music, I don’t like the 90‘s sound. 80‘s songs like this wonderful one are always full of a good feeling and beautiful memories to me 🤗.

It's cool to hear them actually sing on this take, even though there is a backing track Grace's harmonies are on point as well as the rest of the band.
I've discovered this song from Gta5, their voice is very close to the original version, and is not easy🔥🔥, They are good like Bobby Kimball from TOTO nice voices
I am stunned! I was at this concert!!! I had no idea it was on the internet!!! I staggered south from the Plaza Hotel where I was staying and MTV was broadcasting. I was wayyyyy wasted and wandered into this arena where Mister Mister was playing 'Broken Wings.' I was like...whoa...Mister Mister. Then I'm not sure how but I was in the front row on the right. Some old looser geezer from the seventies was smoking pot and dancing with himself in front of me. And by 'old,' I mean like 32! That seemed old back then! A few minutes later some loudspeaker announced 'Starship!' I was like...are you fucking kidding me????? I remember Grace Slick coming out and I was just like 'Holy Shit!!!! That's Grace Slick!!!!!!!" I seriously just wandered into this shit. I've always been weirdly lucky that way, but damn! I had no idea that would happen or 40 years later it would be on the World Wide Interwebs!
I played this at a college party where half the people probably hadn’t even heard it before, by the middle of the song over 50 people were shouting we built this city on rock n roll. Honestly a top 10 moment in my life
No she didn't. This video is from 1986. The song "Nothings Gonna Stop Us Now" came out in 1987 and she left Starship in 1988, 2 years after this video. Jefferson Airplane briefly reformed and made an album + toured in 1989.
I find it impressive that in the case of Starship, Grace Slick sang more of the lower harmonies while Mickey sang the higher ones. Not unheard of, but most people typically look at the female as the higher part
@@ACEJONES I agree with you that this video definitely proves that analog sounds better. But just saying, for every tube in this video, there are at *least* 300 op-amps and 300 transistors in the signal path! Transistors forever, man
This was when America was America🥲 Donald John Trump, we really need your help. Our country is hanging by a single thread. People, remember how we built this country...we cannot forget the sacrifices of yesterday and we sure as hell cannot forget who we are (one nation under God). Even if our founding fathers did not believe in Jesus Christ, The Pilgrims did and so did most of our nation. The truth is, God helped us form this country and we need to remember that God, in the end, will judge us all and save those who believe in Him. We built cities and we built things that every country around the globe looked up to...We need to show the world that we still have it in us. We are strong and we need to stand for America and American values. Enough with the communism in our home. This is America!
@@davidgee2988 That made me LOL...Still I have a soft spot for this song. This is just the encapsulation of everything mid-80's, good and bad, but it's damn catchy and fun. There has to be a place for that.
I graduated high school 1980. The 80's rock is still the music I listen to till this day! 80's music era will always be my choice. I haven't liked any music since the 80's,👍😝

Just seems that way. It’s perspective. Reagan was president. Things sucked then too. The Cold War, illegal wars in Central America, the threat of nuclear annihilation or meltdown. It’s all the way you look at it. You just gotta live your life no matter what’s going on in the world. There’s always been horrible things and wonderful things. To me, this is one of the horrible things in the 80s. Lol. That’s why I listened to punk rock, real rock n roll.
I can’t stop hearing this song 🎵. It’s the ultimate happy and fun song. Love it.
This is so pleasant ❤ I love this vibe, their performance is top notch
thank you for share it.
Very good
Holy sound engineer 😂… that sounded so good
Great live mix
Nice version! 👍✌️🇳🇿
Ich kann den damaligen Vibe durchs Video spüren 🤩
Listen to those live vocals with no pitch correction on Daytona Beach in 1986! My God I would have LOVED to been there for that concert!!

God, what an amazing time to have experienced this live. I was in preschool lol
Amazing
The Era of rock Gods
Those were the days
Dude the sound engineer who recorded this in the fucken 80's is an absolute monster. The mix is amazing. Recording live shows is so hard.
True! It sounds powerful and well balanced
June 2024, Who else?
How cool is this! I was at this concert, and I loved the show. Back in the '80s, Daytona was a happenin' place in the springtime.
I love this and I must say Grace looks great here! Wish she'd appreciate this time a lot more and not trash the songs they recorded.
Gotta love Grace!
They sounded good here
I do not get why professional music critics rate this the worst song of the 80s, it is amazing and timeless.
Are you serious? Omg I’m a huge 80’s fan and this is one of my favorites! Glad I don’t have their music taste!
I LOVE Jeferrson in all their comglamorations
professional music critics are WRONG!!!!
"professional" 🙉🙉🙉
Because it's insanely corny and sounds like a Burger King commercial jingle....yet I still like it. I think Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now is WAY worse.

Critics are just that - critical. The fans and those of us who lived our formative years in the 80s loved the song. The fans win. Again.
It’s funny how some bassists are so aggressive in the studio yet so shy and quiet in front of a crowd
Grace Slick 🔥🔥
this is it. this is a text book 80's pop rock sound. hey it's still big in california fm radio stations.
No cell phones, folks actually enjoying the music and 'the moment'.
Starschip
This sounds so much better on the radio
Some people hate this song, some love it (I personally love it). Regardless of that, they performed it to perfection! It sounds great!
grace slick herself "worst song ever"
A whole year before I was born but damn wish I could have been there! Listen to the perfection!!!
We built it ❤ Frank Lloyd Wright!
I was at this concert, front row, and just saw myself in the video... 2:44 left side edge, middle, holding up peace sign.... LOL
Amazing stuff of one of my favorite song's ever.

This song is awful. They were better as Jefferson Airplane.

Very good live performance, lots of energy. Nostalgic song
I can't get over how great their voices sound here. they didn't need any auto-tune or anything.
thats the thing, pretty much 100% of all 80s bands back then didnt use autotune and it sounds great!
You think every music artist uses it?
