apparently really firm/hard beds are pretty common in japan hotels, especially tokyo's due to futon culture in japan which typically really firm since its on the floor. I've heard if you want softer beds, you'd need to book western hotels like American brand: Hyatt/Hilton/Sheraton.

We learned that the hard way (literally) lol. We should have done a bit more research on this but yes, in the future we will most likely be staying in western brand hotels.

Yes the room is superior twin, the room itself isn't too small but it is narrower than we thought it would be. We know Japanese hotel rooms are going to be smaller which is why we try to book the bigger rooms. Two women with 2 large luggage, and 2 carry on, we like to have a lot of room lol.

The hotel wasn't super dirty but it wasn't super clean either. It might have just been our room but we were surprised to see all the scratches and scuff marks and some dirty smears on the wall especially considering this hotel was recently renovated. It's mostly the walls that were dirty, the rest of the room was ok. Our biggest problem with this hotel was the super hard bed. If thats not a big deal for you and theres a good price then you should book, the hotel location was super convenient for us subway wise.
