Nothing beats an open air concerts with live bands. Even if you don't memorize the lyrics, you'll get carried away by the singing in your surroundings. Sometimes nothing matters but the music and feelings in that moment even if started to rain, nothing will make you move from that spot. Damn, those were the days.
Had the honor of meeting Jay and the rest of Kamikazee back when I used to work as a DJ for a local radio station in the province. Those guys are funny as Hell, but so down to Earth. They really know how to get the crowd to join the fun.
@3:00 this concert is epic. it made the band somewhat emotional because this song itself is like almost 20yr old now and their audiences are the new gen but still they know the song and made "jopay" viral again.
I'm glad I grew up with the OPM artists and musicians my mom and dad grew up listening to especially during car rides to visit family and up to the artists I find myself through RUclips and Facebook. ^_^ I sing my heart out and still listen to the same classics on random (When I'm by myself. LOL!!! )

You should check out one of my most favourite Filipino crowds in a concert: Evenflow by Pearl Jam (1995) Manila Concert! This video was even included in Pearl Jam's documentary and the band considers it as one of their most memorable concerts ever (even to this day, Eddie Vedder recalls that concert fondly).This was way before concert goers film with their mobile phones and where they actually enjoy the full concert experience and engage with the artist/s onstage!
I once attended a hot air balloon music festival in Clark where mrld, Adie, Arthur Nery, Lola Amour, December Ave, and Ben&Ben performed and it was truly the best experience BECAUSE of the music. The whole fam was there to watch the Rivermaya reunion concert. It was great for my husband and I to share the momentous event with our kids (22 and 17 yrs old) who equally love Bamboo and Rivermaya. It was not just the band's reunion but the people who went through life listening to Rivermaya, helping us through happy and sad times.

Fortunate (together w/ my oldest son) to be amongst the crowds in the middle of Ayala Ave. financial district wherein several Filipino bands performed. So common to hear the much younger guys (in the audience) singing along. Hope there will be another festival of bands (from early 90's and 2000's) held soon.
i was in Snoh Aalegra live in Manila this year, and the crowd almost made her cry, she we are the best crowd ever, and she put that in her Instagram too

After that happened, when they went back to Philippines to do a concert, they did insert "Banyo Queen" lyrics in their cover of "Stand By Me"
I think We Filipinos love to attend concert not just because of they want to see the artist but we want to sing the song of the artist and jam with the attendees

South Border Rivermaya Eraserheads Were the best bands in the 80's to the 90's altho there were a few more but these three was the popular. Just to hear a few notes on the intro of the song, we already knew who the band was and what song is gonna be. I think we have the best live performers in asia as it reflects on SB19. We can sing and improvise on the spot even if it's a live concert.
Mayonnaise also performed in our town for our fiesta they also performed Jopay. and people here literally playing their popular songs a week before they came just to review and get ready to sing along hahahaha
KAMIKAZEE BRGY TIBAY \m/ I miss our Royal Rumble Riot backstage back in the da day, mostly that MuzikLaban SummerSlam, Waw it is indeed becomes a SummerSlam backstage. MonT of MAyo nice one bro. And that Rivermaya reunion concert was so fire, Nates Brader Lupit! Yeah you guys are right in the Philippines it is all about the live performance, countless performance I ended up working for my mates band and there we met and become really good friends with Kamikazee and Parokya , these guys is what you see in the stage is what you get in person, they are so crazy fun to be with PArokya nd KamiKazee is such circus show, mauybe they melow a bit now coz they got their own family, When there is a chance for sure the circus will come out, lol.Them are my boys back home, and right back to the topic countless gigs and tour and like they say practice makes perfect and indeed. Yah bless to everyone.
