    My wife and I visited Kings Island a couple years ago. While we rode almost all the big coasters the park had to offer, we agreed that the Beast was our favorite roller coaster at the park. There’s no reason to change it outside of what needs to be fixed during refurbishments.
    A Gerstlauer Euro-Fighter would be a perfect replacement for Vortex’s old space.

    They should just add some airtime hills to the straight sections of The Beast and add a different coaster like a Copperhead Strike type in the Vortex plot.

    Kings Island has been struggling to maintain the Beast due to its age, which is why they recently replaced the trains. It’s possible that they’re doing this to rebuild it, making maintenance easier and bringing it up to modern standards. ❤👍🏻

    I’ve been a Kings Island pass holder for over half my life - I do not think they want to actually modify The Beast anymore. This was a Trojan Horse to see if more people would like an inversion-heavy steel coaster (Gerstlauer) or a record-breaking woodie (Beast 2.0).

    Kings Island loves to troll people. If it’s real, I don’t get it. Nobody wants a classic tampered with. If anything, extend Orion. Everyone thinks Orion should have been longer. And the Vortex plot, pretty much want a new version of Vortex version. The infinity would be great as a Vortex replacement. But with the light package, I would prefer it as an entrance coaster.

  • @tophatthrills
    @tophatthrills 2 месяца назад

    Oh boy, that would be a maintenance nightmare. At least this isn't likely. These are merely concepts Kings Island is sending out to a select audience to see what guests like. Hopefully this concept doesn't move into further development. Kings Island's next coaster will probably either be in the SOB plot of land or the front entrance because they might tear down Invertigo (and Congo Falls) because it is old and breaking down a lot. KI would most likely have their 2026 or 2027 coaster planned already, so these are probably ideas down the road for 2028 or 2029.

    I like The Beast 2.0 idea, they aren't taking anything away from The Beast, but adding to it and making it better, that's part of what people are missing in this idea! It would add to the KI skyline of the park and could take great pictures of it on that pathway! The Infinity Coaster is nice too and so is the Giga Dive Coaster idea, any of these ideas would be a win in my book!

    It's just a survey option. 'Cause one of the other options in the questionnaire was for an infinity coaster. What they're probably doing here is that some intern was paid to draw this up to see how this "Beast 2.0" idea would be received compared to the infinity coaster. If it's just as popular as the infinity coaster in the questionnaire then the suits might not be as keen to finalize it, but if the infinity coaster gets enough votes, that's the coaster being built for 2026.
    An Infinity Coaster would tick all the boxes Kings Island is looking for: compact, multi-launch, multiple inversions, and the "photo factor" that Vortex had.

    • @julianhudson7811
      @julianhudson7811 2 месяца назад +1

      Exactly! A similar survey happened at Canada's Wonderland where they asked for input on either a Wing Coaster blasting up and over the top of the mountain, a concert wing coaster and a GCI in White Water Canyon. Apparently, their 2025 coaster is nothing like what was on the survey.
      Just because the park shows a concept for a future attraction on a survey doesn't mean the park will actually build it. They may go in a completely different direction and pick a different coaster or ride model.

    I would have been more excited to see them announce that they were updating the layout, adding hills where there was straight track, adding something that uses the speed from the first drop instead of needing trims at the top of the first hill. But hey, I'm always down for ridiculous roller coasters. I'd come back to KI in a heartbeat.

    Kings island needs another multi-inversion coaster. I know that flight of fear and invertigo have multiple inversions, but banshee is the only ride there that FEELS like a multi-inversion coaster. Idk how else to explain it. I’ve been living in cincy for the last year and visited many times (shout out to Dale the bartender!) and that’s the biggest deficit they have. I grew up near cedar point and they have their own deficits, mainly a lack of wooden coasters, but they have a more well rounded selection of rides. I always felt like something was missing at KI and I think the euro fighter would help their lineup a lot.

    Rode the Beast for the first time today!! It’s clearly from its time period, but thats what gives it its charm and makes it a fun coaster. Adding a modern finish to a classic coaster would ruin its charm while ruining the beginning of a great, modern feeling woodie. Which they already have with Mystic Timbers. I really hope this is a publicity stunt

    The whole Beast things sounds kind of insane. That would be crazy. The Beast is my favorite ride ever so part of me would be curious about "more of it" and part of me would be afraid they would somehow ruin it. It's perfect just as it is. I think I'd rather have a really cool new style coaster in the Vortex plot, but it needs to be something special. I was hoping for a really big record breaking and awesome Wing Coaster, but given King's Dominion's recent announcement, I feel like that's probably off the table. A ground up RMC might be sweet in that spot.

    I keep hearing that ACE Landmarks can't be modified or demolished unless if there's special cases (the beast is an ACE Landmark). I personally think The Beast extension would be a huge mistake (and its best as is, sure it doesn't have airtime for days like Phoenix, but I love it for speeding around in a forest and feeling like I'm gonna smashed to death in the helix tunnels). I'm ALL for the Gershlauer coaster going in Vortex's spot, as someone who was sad to see Vortex go (as it was the first coaster to ever intimidate me by looking at it as a little kid), one of the requirements for it to fill the Vortex sized hole in my heart is that it has to loop, and I feel Gershlauer hits that requirement and then some!
