Thanks for the information about trailers for sale at Home Depot. I just went and bought one of their 6x8 trailers for $1085 plus tax. It was in great condition and heavy duty, It was made by Anderson Trailers. I never would have known you could by a trailer from Home Depot if I hadn't seen your video. Thanks!

I did the same thing excpet I got an aerator from home depot rental. Also it doesnt hurt to ask for less . My aerator was listed for 1250 and got it for $1000. Also another cool thing is they take gifts cards and credit cards. Hard to buy anything used without paying cash these days. Ive had it for 4 yrs now and done enough lawns to more than pay for itself. Never thought about the trailers untill I watched your video, will defantly check it out

I have also added wood sides by using 2 by 10’s. I also added about 15 tie downs inside and outside the trailer. It’s premium made trailer, but the extras made into make it worth the price. You didn't mention it, but the white caped piece-of-pipe on the right side of the trailer tongue A-frame is were you should store the trailer registration card to show ownership, cops will ask some times. It's also best to keep a copy of trailer registry with the primary tow vehicle as a back-up.

Yeah, how I crossed paths with this video is this... I'm about to do a move from Chicago-land to Casper, Wyoming !!! and I was checking Uhaul basic trailers and the prices just floored me !!! about $300 for a one way trip !!! I would rather make 2-3 trips via minivan before I pay that much just to move some storage bins... so, thus, me looking for other possibilities..... yeah, I think they determine the price / cost from the zipcode.... I know storage units use that method of pricing.... yeah, makes me want to move to Wyoming even more !!! I'm done with all this nickel and diming to death.... rents are like $1300 per month plus utilities !!! annnd for parking !!!! yeah, I'm paying $50 a month just to park my vehicle... when it should be freakin FREE !!!! yep, I'm wayyyy over due for me to get the F out of here !!! Bearings and seals for 3500lb trailer axles are a common size. Trailer manufacturers generally don't list the bearings specs since they buy the axles pre-assembled. Bearings specs would be part of the axle manufacturers info. These are Dexter Axles. I've updated the description with all of the bearings and associated parts.

The trailer is built somewhat similar to the older UHaul trailers ,I wouldn’t be too surprised if they were either designed or built by the same people I will say Torsion axles are better than leaf spring for a smoother ride but it’s not really relevant for cargo and utility trailers because of their type of contents that are hauled with them sure hauling small trailers with leaf springs without a load will get noisy and airborne at times but that doesn’t really matter much I’ve had many small boat trailers that made lots of noise empty but it didn’t hurt anything , besides I pull them in my 3500 Dually Diesel pick up that is bouncy and noisy on its own a lot of times the trailers spitting grease out of the hubs is because they were overgreased very common if trailers have Bearing Buddies when that grease gets hot it expands and i’ve seen that blow the Bearing caps or Buddies clean off the trailer on highways because it is spinning so many RPMs higher than the tire it will hit the pavement and shoot in front of the tow vehicle

And a corrugated floor that helps keep the bike form sliding from side to side. But they claim they never sell them, just scrap them when they're too old. Actually 11:55 shows the info you need to know. GVWR is 2999, the for-sale trailer says max cargo weight 1999, so I'd say it weighs 1000 or thereabouts. Home Depot sticker on his says max cargo 1750, which is probably just de-rated for safety because the average trailer renter is not a great weight estimator. Then again, the axle is 3500lbs and the trailer's plenty stout to handle that, this size trailer are all just rated to be under 3k because many states require brakes on trailers at 3k gvwr. For comparison's sake, my Aluminum 2990-rated trailer weights 390lbs empty, or 525 with 32" wood sides and a spare.

I didn’t have any issues with the title. Fortunately, my local store had the title in their possession. I’ve heard that often times they don’t have the title and need to get it from Compact Power, which is the name of the company that owns and manages the trailers.

U-haul apparently scraps their trailers at "end of life". They last a long time though, probably because they are made of galvanized steel.

The only come up for sale every 5 years. Check the VIN tag on the trailers at your local store next time you are there. The VIN tag shows the build date. They will come up for sale about 5 years after they were built.
