Балагур прекрасный представитель своей породы- Орловской! Ведь незря граф Орлов- Чесменский,выводя эту ,знаковую для всей России породу,говорил,чтоб была лршадь и под седло и под ярмо.И вот вам прекрасный результат- Балагур! После Крепыша,еще одна Лошадь столетия! Умная,красивая,совкая,универсальная! Все в нем сложилось!

I love that horse and looks like his rider does too. I love the way she gives him a big hug and kiss at the end and undoes his noseband as soon as she gets off. A wonderful partnership.

Amazing horse that Balagur.
I watched Isabell & Satchmo's performance in the individual finals at Beijing 2008 - and I was appalled that she won the silver.
How is that Isabell's horse Satchmo - who so obviously had a flawed performance (he looked like he was about to EXPLODE) ended up with a score of 75.2 that day??
The dressage judging was a travesty at the Olympics that year.
A shame really.

Not true. the swishing of the tail is because the high level movements Balagur is performing are so difficult. It's a concentration thing. It can be a sign of annoyance, but this is one of the better dressage performances: no rollkur, no signs of inhumane training. At Grand Prix levels, dressage riders are actually REQUIRED 2 wear spurs (used to increase the precision of the leg aid bc aids can be extremely similar - not supposed 2 motivate the horse, but instead 2 make the instructions clear).
This horse is obviously correctly, humanely trained and developed. I was only disappointed by his extended walk. I especially like that his front and hind canons are parallel in ALL trot work, and that his hindlegs are so active in canter, even in canter pirouettes. I would like to know who trained this rider.
26 апреля 2011 года на Кубке Нижегородской области я разговаривал с Александрой Кореловой.На этапе Кубка Мира в этом году в Нижнем Новгороде она как участница к сожалению не выступит,скоре всего.Все дело в лошадке!Очень сожалею что у нас нет такого коня как Балагур!Хотелось бы очень чтоб Александре все таки помогли с лошадкой!Ведь она заняла 6 место на Олимпиаде в Китае!

Bulky fella Balagur is! But I love thier ride - the rider doesn't have an overly strong contact, the horse has nice carriage, and Balagur can actually match the action of his front legs with his back legs! Get that! lolz, his action is a little exaggerated. He could be a little more supple on the half pass, though. D:P

@Rhonda, if Monica Theodorescu trained Alexanrra Korelova, I am not surprised. I was delighted, indeed inspired, by seeing the quality of the gaits of Whisper, with Monica, before Monica and Whisper were enlisted by Germany.
They should have won.
Mmmh. I dont like how she uses the spurs all the time. Thats what makes the horse wagging its tail.
First time I hear that a swishing tail should be a sign of concentration ô0. Thats unlogical. Horses wagging their tails when there is a fly/ try to wipe something off their skin.So its a reaction of defense.In this case it is obvious that the horse reacts to the spurs.Riders heel is too high cause shes pricking with the spurs. Even if they are 'required' to WEAR them there is no rule where it says that they have to USE them in a certain way. And spurs are not necessary for high level movements.
