Leonid transcribed all of the Chicago songs his group does by ear, as there are no charts available. They do everything the way we remember hearing it, which Chicago didn't even manage. Most of the recordings the original band did were the only time they actually played the songs that way. I have been a Chicago fan since the earl 70s, but Leonid & Friends are certainly their match, performance-wise. And, by-the-way, Ksenia is much easier to look at than Terry Kath
I love watching people react to Leonid & Friends. I've been listening to them for at least the last four years. Its obvious how much talent the groups they cover had but IMO the quality of the recordings often makes these covers sound better than the original. I just ran across your reactions tonight. You've done more than a couple but you have a lot more to go. You just have to listen to the covers of the songs where Peter Cetera sang lead. I actually prefer Serge's voice as Peter had a tendency to cut off his notes short that got worse as he got older. I am really surprised you didn't mention Igor, the drummer, on this one. He is just outstanding. You should also listen to Colour my World. I never really liked that song when Chicago did it. I found it sort of depressing. But Leonid added some life to it. In case you didn't't know the group is entirely based in Moscow except for Serge, who sings the Peter Cetera parts. He is in Kyiv Ukraine. The group toured the U.S for virtually all of 2019. I got to see them twice. They are touring again now so you have the chance to see them live if you want.
Absolutely - me too. Followed Chicago for their best years ending around '74. Now play Leonid daily, as you Ralph, for last 4 years. Consistently magical. Apart from the departed and greatly missed Sergey, not even the best band here!

You're right, "pretty good" doesn't do it justice. It wasn't meant to detract from the complete awesomeness of the performance. This group is fantastic, and this song! Man this is a great performance.
I don't think that the reviewer knows much about music to fully appreciate what he just saw. He says the same thing in every reaction video. "Hey...pretty good". I think he decided this was an easy way to make money on RUclips without having any useful content. He gives 2 or 3 sentences showing little insight to anything about the video. Just sayin'...
Originals are exactly that - The Best Remember - THAT WAS A LIVE PERFORMANCE - never to be replicated .... love this rendition but the PC highs ate just not present
