DKDKTv has a video Kpop history from Sao Taiji to Bts. It is a must watch to understand how hip hop happened in Korea and they didn’t really have all this music the way we did. Come Back Home is a great song, and BTS released it's remake as a single in 2017 the year they joined Seo Taiji for his 25th Anniversary concert. That entire concert was absolute FIREEE. It's uploaded for free on RUclips in high resolution recently.
Yes! The song mentioned is called "come back home" by Seo Taiji and the boys and it is also made during a period rebellious teens are running away from home and then becoming homeless so also a message for them. There is also a BTS version of it a remake music video and BTS and Seo Taiji then performed it live in a concert. It is cool to see all the original and how bts remake it, and then them performing together. Seo Taiji was basically the one who started some aspects of "kpop" back then and the concert was seen as passing the mic to bts in this generation which is actually very important since he chose bts themselves to remake it and pass the mic to them. Fun fact: before bts not many kpop write their songs (there is some) but really not many and after bts, more and more artist/ group started writing own song because before then it is the kpop company to chose a song and the kpop artist don't have a choice if they like the song or not they will perform it and now there is a explosion of popularity of groups starting to write song and I'm sure bts have something to do with it and when I say explosion of popularity of groups starting to write song, it is still very little there is so many groups hundreds of them it is so competitive and out of hundreds maybe 10-15 groups writes (that's how little) and before bts there is also people who write songs not saying bts is pioneer but you see a trend after bts exploded in popularity, there is a rise compared to before whether it is the company seeing "oh this is their popularity" or seeing "oh it's not bad to write some serious topics" because bts is one of very very very few who started writing very complex and sometimes conflicting things in society for example writing "Go go go" making fun of people just spending money and going broke and bts being sarcastic and was like yes spend all your money until you regret, or Spring day tribute to the sewol tragedy with many teens killed but the president trying to cover the whole thing and blacklisting anyone who speak on that, that's why bts wrote with hidden meanings/ double meaning in lyrics and many symbols in the MV, or the song where they make fun of the impeached former president in their dance crawling like a pig/ dog since there was a recording leak of the minister and president calling korean citizens "dogs and pigs"
there are actually four k-pop “generations” bts are part of third generation, and every group that debuted after 2017 (when bts won their first billboard award) are part of the fourth

16:05 A couple of things: 1. You were very right to be impressed at the Seo Taiji & Boys reference, you were just a bit off as to why. I used to think my first exposure to kpop was Gangnam Style. But then I watched Seo Taiji's 25th anniversary concert from 2017 on youtube and the song he did with RM and Suga sounded so familiar. After a bit of research I discovered the song was used in the 1994 movie 3 Ninjas Kick Back, that's where I knew it from. I had no idea I had heard kpop when I was only around 7 years old (I'm 35 now).
Sao Taiji had a 25 Year anniversary show and invited BTS to support him and perform with him on most tracks. BTS were so honoured to be selected by one of their idols. There is also a behind the scenes shooting sketch for this. 'COME BACK HOME SAO TAIJI 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW' is on the Enjoy BTS More channel. (link) ruclips.net/video/C0T6MVYxC8s/видео.html This is absolutely amazing. 💜
Love this song! Such a hype and banger a$$ song, glad you guys like it and are starting to recognize them! Keep up the good work!! ❤ #1-2manyreactionsgang (P.S, don't forget the captions!!!)
Not sure if anyone addresses the Gen 1, 2, 3, 4 thing but Kpop contracts are typically 7 years plus the fact that male groups enter the military really directs the generations. So every 7 years -ish is a new Gen.
There are different generations of kpop & generations typically last 7 ish years on average. We are in 4th gen. Seo taiji was 1st. Seo taiji was the og group, they tackled social issues. A group with a conscience like BTS. Btw, that's not common in kpop, most idols don't write their own stuff and even those that do, it's uncommon in Korea for idols to sing about deep real topics. In 2017 seo taiji held his 25th anniversary concert & invited BTS to perform with him which is a huge honor. At the end seo taiji "passed the torch/mic" as it were, to BTS for their social justice work. You should react to: Seo Taiji & BTS : Classroom Idea Come Back Home Keep in mind, S Korea didn't obtain direct voting rights until 1987. The main type of popular music was trot (a cultural style ballad type of genre) and stuff like that. In the 90s kids were more focused on individualism and uniqueness as opposed to the collective goal. So when seo taiji came along, they ate that shit up. Classroom idea is 1 of my favs. 💜 eta: I turned 50 this year. I am a perpetual child. I feel like I'm in my mid 20s, with my sense of humor being that of a 12 year old. I even still picture myself that way. I've legit glanced in the mirror before and was momentarily shocked because while I do look young, I do not sadly look 25 😂 I believe that to some extent you really are only as old as you feel. All of my friends are younger than me, I get along great with my kids' friends (ages between 20 to 30) . I think it's important to surround yourself with younger people and always keep an open mind, be open to and try new experiences. Oh and micro dosing shrooms will help keep you young as well. Helps with some mental disorders too. (Don't do drugs kids, adults, do research 1st, but it has helped me for sure! ) There's my TED talk about staying young that absolutely no one asked for, sorry! 😂 💜
Seo Taiji handed the torch to BTS and BTS only as their/his successors and they did a 25th Anniversary concert together. Available in Enjoy BTS More. You have to check the OG version and BTS version of Come Back Home (live if possible!)
so happy of the channel that u pick for the explanation MINIDANCE, hope u will use her explained vid again for other bts songs bec she can really enlighten quite impressively as for the korean perspective... enjoyed watching this with u thanks 💜🙏🏼
yup do watch if you get the chance- Seo Taiji with BTS for his 5th anniv concert. So much great performances there. Fire is an iconic piece. I watched them in PTD Vegas April 2022 and they performed Fire and it was 🔥🔥🔥
oh that was some good observation about suga finishing rm’s lines in dope and jhope finishing them in fire! even i didn’t notice that connection, that’s so cool!💜
Love your attention to detail about the song Dope playing in the background and how the scene with J~Hope & RM was similar to that on Dope with Suga & RM 👏
You can watch the entire 25th anniversary concert of Seo Taiji & Boys where they invited BTS to perform with them. They effectively "passed the torch" on to BTS, they also asked/allowed BTS to redo their incredibly famous song "Come Back Home". There IS an MV for the BTS version of Come Back Home, but they are not in the MV. They performed it live at least once and you can find fan cams of it. It's also awesome that you mentioned Cypress Hill... according to some videos I've seen, Cypress Hill was a hug influence for Seo Taiji.
YEEES I LOVE COME BACK HOME!! They even made a live performance with Seo Taiji himself (in his concert for 25 aniversary in 2017) Also, please react to class idea, another song from Seo Taiji that bts cover
I am a music lover, every sound, every rhyme and every lyric, I just want to listen and enjoy. It's so hard for me to become an army, because I cannot ignore the message in their songs, the perspectives, the meaning and consistency in each album. all of it had built a strong bond and trust between me/army and BTS. but I never worried, 'coz all the songs are beautiful to listen and the mv's are amazing to watch until now, even in their solo debut. By the way, thank you for the reaction, always have the similar reaction when I am thinking of furthermore😁💜💜💜
This was one of my fave reactions for you guys. I liked that you could enjoy without having to multi task between visuals, music and lyrics. Less stressful and come across as fun!
That was a cool react and kudos for finding an explainer vid for Fire. I always took the message as it is but that was very enlightening and refreshing. Glad to know the many references we were missing.
I am so glad you said that you are bumpin with the aesthetics and vibe of the song. I never ever read lyrics on the first pass of any BTS song. I am so into whether or not I vibe with the musicality of the song or not. Lyrics are usually after the third or fourth listen. For me the lyrics may be fire as hell but if the music and the beat drops don't hit then it's a done deal for me. I know everyone listens differently and that's fine too.😆
This song puts me in a very good mood 🤸♀🙌 Fiiireeeee. I like your videos Guys. Maybe someone recommended this to you already, but i´d actually like to see you react to these videos, so i let this here: - PERSONA RM. MV and MMA 2019 performance - DYONISUS MMA 2019 performance (Actually all MMA 2019 is Fire if you want to watch all the performance) - Not Today - BTS Room Festa 2021 - No More Dream (Their debut song.) (To see them so Young and how they have changed is very cool) - Yet to come - ON BUT Kinetic Manifesto: Come Prima Film Hope you have a really good week... See you in the next video 😉
The title of the song of Seo Taiji & boys is "Come Back Home". BTS' remake of the song done live at their 4th Muster is a must watch.. Hope you react to it. There's an MV of BTS's remake but the live performance is just awesome. I would not have known abt the explanation video of Fire until you reacted to it so thank you very much 💜
I really like that explainer, thanks for doing that one. Yes the DKDKTV history of Kpop is really good, Seo Taiji is their direct ancestor and he is just the best. I think DKDK has one just about him too. And the final part for this song is the dance practice, it is one of the best. Ha yes we don't ever mind a good long reaction, we love it when you can add on more related parts. Thanks!
Seo Taiji and the Boys are in Gen 1 of K-pop and BTS are Gen 3...the current generation is Gen 4! Gen 1 of K-pop was primarily listened to in Korea, but they started getting more internationanl exposure in Gen 2 with the Hallyu/Korean wave for groups like TVXQ, Super Junior, Shinee, SNSD, Big Bang, 2NE1, etc., and then each generation after that opened the doors more and more to turn K-pop from a niche to mainstream in Western countries today.
off topic, I hate people who treat others as "immature" because according to society according to your age you have to behave in a certain way or have a typical job, I have been told so many times that I have to grow up and be an "adult" just because I like to watch anime, or I like video games, one has to live life as we want if you don't hurt anyone and don't do anything illegal,no one has the right to reproach another, thanks for the video, stay healthy and happy 💜💙
Thank you for reacting to FIRE by the boys! I've been reading the other comments and some of them suggest checking BTS' and their work with Seo Taiji. I also suggested in your previous video for your guys to check COME BACK HOME! :)
Since you have a rap line bias, please react to the 3 solo songs from MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 album 1) Intro: Persona by RM 2) Interlude: Shadow by SUGA 3) Outro: Ego by JHope Loved this reaction btw. 🤙🏽👍🏽💜
I think y'all would really enjoy learning the history of kpop, since it is rooted in hip hop! Seo Taiji is amazing and I love come back home which is the song referenced, because BTS did a remake of this song and they also performed a whole anniversary concert with Seo Taiji and it's fucking dope as hell! Please listen to the original version and the remake because they are both 🔥🔥 and I listen to BTS version everyday on my work playlist 🙃
Just to clear up any confusion since I recently got educated about this kpop thing as well. The whole thing basically started in 1992, when they started incorporating western musical elements into their own music. They also took the japanese idol training system and added it to their own artists creating this way the idols we know today. They were inspired by western, mainy american, music and the rest, like visuals and everything that makes idol groups what they are, were borrowed from the japanese culture. the generations of kpop are divided: 1st gen-Mid-1990s to early 2000s (consists of the og's, the founders of this whole industry) 2nd gen-Mid-2000's to late 2000's (idols like PSY, Girls' Generation, BIGBANG etc that popularised kpop especially in SK) 3rd gen-2011 to 2016 (BTS are apart of it. I will not get into it deeper) 4th gen-2017 onwards (is considered by many the best one because is a global thing at this point and the groups that debut now get popular before even coming out with music, i don't really understand this logic)
Wen you guys react to Seo Taiji and Boys Come back home, you should also react to the live presentation with BTS on their 25 anniversary and the remake of the song from BTS. That would be a perfect trifecta🤟💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇲🇽🤟
Seo Taiji and Boys were the first korean group I heard back in the 90s. Hahahaha. So I've been around for a long while. I do suggest the DKDKTV video on kpop history in 20 minutes video. It gives a quick rundown of kpop history. Not everything, but some of the important stuff. It's an interesting watch.
Oh PLEASE react to BTS's remake of Come Back Home that was talked about in the explanation video. It is a GREAT track, right up your guys' alley, I think. There is a terrific live version too
Y'all should totally check out "KPOP history explained in 20 minutes" by DKDKTV (its a really interesting video that highlights the evolution of the genre and how far its come)
Here's the link! I think it really helps Western fans see the basic structure underlying what we just lump together as "K-Pop" and gives context to how it grew and interacts with Korean culture differently to how Western pop music does with Western culture. ruclips.net/video/kPS4tCHT6SA/видео.html
Kpop fans refer to groups by gen 1-4 and bts is gen 3, a new generation or idols comes about when there is a shift in the Kpop industry for example the shift in Kpop from 3rd gen to 4th gen was many groups doing hyper pop rather then regular pop and more idols becoming “producers” it’s when a new trend takes over Kpop but doesn’t move on and rather stays.
you should definitely check out the song by Seo taiji along with BTS' cover. they also had a live performance of the original song WITH Seo taiji a few years ago, and another performance of the cover they did with just them at a concert.
hello thank you for your incredible reactions I'm Latina but I like ❤see your reactions of bts💜 maybe they will react to the official video of Airplane pt 2 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🙏🙏🙏

'COME BACK HOME SAO TAIJI 25TH ANNIVERSARY SHOW' is on the Enjoy BTS More channel. (link) ruclips.net/video/C0T6MVYxC8s/видео.html
This is absolutely amazing. 💜
their 5th muster edition sounds better, isntrumental and song line distribution. it is lit
🌟 🌟 bonus points for finding your own explanation video and it being a good one 🤣
🍀
Can I just say Bobby is on fire with his reaction in this video 😄
Love this song! Such a hype and banger a$$ song, glad you guys like it and are starting to recognize them! Keep up the good work!! ❤ #1-2manyreactionsgang (P.S, don't forget the captions!!!)
Another fave, Fire by Name, Fire By Nature . This was the first ever song I heard of theirs.😎💜👌
This was a great reaction! I am glad you enjoyed it. Looking forward to what you have next!
You should react to:
Seo Taiji & BTS :
Classroom Idea
Come Back Home
Keep in mind, S Korea didn't obtain direct voting rights until 1987. The main type of popular music was trot (a cultural style ballad type of genre) and stuff like that. In the 90s kids were more focused on individualism and uniqueness as opposed to the collective goal. So when seo taiji came along, they ate that shit up. Classroom idea is 1 of my favs. 💜
eta: I turned 50 this year. I am a perpetual child. I feel like I'm in my mid 20s, with my sense of humor being that of a 12 year old. I even still picture myself that way. I've legit glanced in the mirror before and was momentarily shocked because while I do look young, I do not sadly look 25 😂
I believe that to some extent you really are only as old as you feel. 😂 💜
You guys should watch the live. 💜
I am glad you guys also watch explanation video for the better understanding of MVs. Thanks for the reaction. Love you guys.💜
Fire is fire! ❤️🔥loved the reaction and explanation video. I've never seen the explanation for fire by that channel but she did an amazing job!
BTS always and purposely write lyric that can have multiple interpretations. it is part of their magic 😁😁
Double thumbs up for seo taji come back home followed by bts remake of come back home… both r fire versions!!! Cant wait for u to react to them. 💜
And oh yes SEO TAGI and THE BOYS with BTS , Come back home is so Old School you will be blown away 🔥🔥💜💜
Thank you. I’ve been waiting for you to watch fire and you did a great job💜
YEEES I LOVE COME BACK HOME!!
They even made a live performance with Seo Taiji himself (in his concert for 25 aniversary in 2017)
Also, please react to class idea, another song from Seo Taiji that bts cover
So glad you guys reacted to this one! Thanks for the explanation video, I had never seen that before. Looking forward to the next. 💜💜💜
That was a cool react and kudos for finding an explainer vid for Fire. I always took the message as it is but that was very enlightening and refreshing. Glad to know the many references we were missing.
you have to react to 'come back home' both the og and BTS's cover!!
Bobby I’m impressed with your knowledge of the guys 😊💜
You absolutely have to see BTS live 'come back home' on stage it's amazing you'll love it so much!
In my top 5 fave songs of theirs. Check out the dance practice and the MAMA 2016 performance, it has 150 million views!
omg since she mentioned "comeback home" you need to watch BTS'S version it's sooo goooood
That was a very good analysis and thanks to her for such a unique explanations given.
It is going to have someone from Korea explaining BTS lyrics.
Fire is 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥💯💯💯💯 literally🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I am so glad you said that you are bumpin with the aesthetics and vibe of the song. I never ever read lyrics on the first pass of any BTS song. I am so into whether or not I vibe with the musicality of the song or not. Lyrics are usually after the third or fourth listen. For me the lyrics may be fire as hell but if the music and the beat drops don't hit then it's a done deal for me. I know everyone listens differently and that's fine too.😆
This song puts me in a very good mood 🤸♀🙌 Fiiireeeee. I like your videos Guys.
Maybe someone recommended this to you already, but i´d actually like to see you react to these videos,
so i let this here:
- PERSONA RM. MV and MMA 2019 performance
- DYONISUS MMA 2019 performance
(Actually all MMA 2019 is Fire if you want to watch all the performance)
- Not Today
- BTS Room Festa 2021
- No More Dream (Their debut song.) (To see them so Young and how they have changed is very cool)
- Yet to come
- ON BUT Kinetic Manifesto: Come Prima Film
Hope you have a really good week... See you in the next video 😉
Their FIRE live performance at award show was FIRE . burn it up, Fiirrreee o wo o
The title of the song of Seo Taiji & boys is "Come Back Home". BTS' remake of the song done live at their 4th Muster is a must watch.. Hope you react to it. There's an MV of BTS's remake but the live performance is just awesome. I would not have known abt the explanation video of Fire until you reacted to it so thank you very much 💜
Really should react to this dance practice video, their choreography will blow you away
Thanks!
I'm glad to reacted to such a masterpiece ❤️of BTS thankyou:) for loving it !!! Missed your reactions! Pls react to war of hormones by BTS !
"Dope dope dope" "is that dope or mic drop??" ....
Since she's talking about The Spoons.......you should watch Baepsae (Silver Spoon) LIVE. It's another BANGER......you'll love it!!!!
Wow, this might be one of the best explanation videos I've seen 🤣
YES... This is such a blast 🔥🔥
Awesome! Dope! Fire!
off topic, I hate people who treat others as "immature" because according to society according to your age you have to behave in a certain way or have a typical job, I have been told so many times that I have to grow up and be an "adult" just because I like to watch anime, or I like video games, one has to live life as we want if you don't hurt anyone and don't do anything illegal,no one has the right to reproach another, thanks for the video, stay healthy and happy 💜💙
Thank you for reacting to FIRE by the boys! I've been reading the other comments and some of them suggest checking BTS' and their work with Seo Taiji. I also suggested in your previous video for your guys to check COME BACK HOME! :)
Since you have a rap line bias, please react to the 3 solo songs from MAP OF THE SOUL: 7 album
1) Intro: Persona by RM
2) Interlude: Shadow by SUGA
3) Outro: Ego by JHope
Loved this reaction btw. 🤙🏽👍🏽💜
Lets go...
yeah its a long vid n we loving it!, periodttt.. 용서해줄게 (l’ll forgive u). Looking forward for Seo Taiji ft. BTS ‘Come Back Home’ live 🤯🔥💜🫶🏻
I recommend you react to Come Back Home. First listen to the original Seo Taiji version, and then the 2017 BTS version. You will love it!
Seo Taiji and Boys are sick!! Can’t wait for you guys to check them out. Ohh and you guys should look up the shirt RM is wearing in this MV 😂😂😂😂
Just to clear up any confusion since I recently got educated about this kpop thing as well. The whole thing basically started in 1992, when they started incorporating western musical elements into their own music. They also took the japanese idol training system and added it to their own artists creating this way the idols we know today. They were inspired by western, mainy american, music and the rest, like visuals and everything that makes idol groups what they are, were borrowed from the japanese culture. the generations of kpop are divided:
1st gen-Mid-1990s to early 2000s (consists of the og's, the founders of this whole industry)
2nd gen-Mid-2000's to late 2000's (idols like PSY, Girls' Generation, BIGBANG etc that popularised kpop especially in SK)
3rd gen-2011 to 2016 (BTS are apart of it. I will not get into it deeper)
4th gen-2017 onwards (is considered by many the best one because is a global thing at this point and the groups that debut now get popular before even coming out with music, i don't really understand this logic)
Fire! The iconic 3:33.
Bts version of come back home is fantastic 👏 💜
Next reaction video lyrics " Paldogangsan " & Explanation by DKDKTV
Wen you guys react to Seo Taiji and Boys Come back home, you should also react to the live presentation with BTS on their 25 anniversary and the remake of the song from BTS. That would be a perfect trifecta🤟💜💜💜💜💜💜💜🇲🇽🤟
The MV On (version Kinetic). If you can see it, or the performances. Its wow.
Y’all have to watch the live MMA performance of this. It’s amazing!
There is a terrific live version too
I love that you checking the explanation 💜🇧🇷💜💜💜💜 thanks
Y'all should totally check out "KPOP history explained in 20 minutes" by DKDKTV (its a really interesting video that highlights the evolution of the genre and how far its come)
Here's the link! I think it really helps Western fans see the basic structure underlying what we just lump together as "K-Pop" and gives context to how it grew and interacts with Korean culture differently to how Western pop music does with Western culture. ruclips.net/video/kPS4tCHT6SA/видео.html
Lisa rosie part of the guide pls upload soon
In live its very very amazing
You could react to Bts remake of Come Back Home ( colour coded lyrics) to get the feeling then you can watch the live with Seo Taiji.
you should definitely watch "Come Back Home" next it's dope
Cool reaction !!!!
the song in the beginning is 'dope'
Kpop fans refer to groups by gen 1-4 and bts is gen 3, a new generation or idols comes about when there is a shift in the Kpop industry for example the shift in Kpop from 3rd gen to 4th gen was many groups doing hyper pop rather then regular pop and more idols becoming “producers” it’s when a new trend takes over Kpop but doesn’t move on and rather stays.
tha moment when you realize Dope is Fire and Fire is Dope
😂
고마워🥰
If you do the original Come Back Home.....please do the BTS remake version live from their Muster. They kill it!!!!!!
Yall def need to react to Seo Taji Come Back Home with BTS. Think Cypress Hill 🤌
You need to do reaction Remake : COME BACK HOME BTS ! Its dope !!!
you should definitely check out the song by Seo taiji along with BTS' cover.
they also had a live performance of the original song WITH Seo taiji a few years ago, and another performance of the cover they did with just them at a concert.
You must watch Daechwita live muster swoozo.....,All BTs members perform,...so Fun
hello thank you for your incredible reactions I'm Latina but I like ❤see your reactions of bts💜 maybe they will react to the official video of Airplane pt 2 🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🧎♀️🙏🙏🙏
3rd generation in which bts is the best 💜
Arrrghhh Goodmorningggg!!!!!
Never knew I would watch fire explanation video....😂....it was pretty fire tho....👍🏻
Bobby on his way to do the performance quiz :_)
I'm glad you remember MVs, but also who sings where and how ^^ that means you like it I guess :)
Explanation vids by minidance is good. Unfortunately she only did a few BTS ones, and she has also stopped posting.
Jhope goes OFF in their remake of come back home🔥🔥
If you react to the original Come Back Home, please react to BTS’ remake in the same vid. Both are great. Jin’s falsetto is something.
