eu ouvi THE POLICE durante 20 anos da minha vida, todos os dias, religiosamente: Era fã, de fanático. sabia de cor (de cor, vem de coração, em inglês, dizem from heart) todas as músicas, disco por disco. Na época, não tinha internet pra fazer download e eu tinha que caçar as coisas raras: tinha (tenho) posters, livros, cds, vinis, vhs, e dezenas de cds não oficiais de shows ao vivo. Foi uma banda importantíssima para mim, nas melhores fases da minha vida. Sting é um compositor fera, constrói muito bem as letras e tem um dom único pra achar a melodia certa. Além de suas linhas de baixo, bacaníssimas. Copeland é um verdadeiro Deus da batera, pra mim, o maior. Summers é um dos guitarristas mais inventivos e criativos do rock (aliás, tenho um autógrafo dele, de quando ele passou por minha cidade - show no SESC, em SJC, com o Vitor Biglione). Ver esse show agora é para mim de um significado e uma emoção que não tenho como descrever.
Amigo virei seu fã. Tenho 26 anos e até 2010 conhecia apenas do rádio, mas eis que a MTV virou canal aberto por um tempo e me apresentou essa banda nos clássicos. Eu amo muiiiiiito. Rock sem frescura, só diversão.
Conheço esse show do And Summers com o vitor biglione, sou de Niterói RJ e tive o privilégio de assistir ao vivo nos anos 90, na época eles fizeram um trabalho voltado para MPB com um pouco de blues !!!
Meu filho vai ouvir The Police e saber que foi A MELHOR BANDA DO MUNDO. Quando estive mal a alegria e beleza dessas músicas me levantaram. Rock é alegria, música é alegria.
Noite época! Os Paralamas do Sucesso abrindo o show para o The Police! Duas das maiores bandas para mim!
Só quem tava lá pode sentir a vibe que foi esse show...saudades!

Copeland is a drumming GOD
even in his 60s he can still kick ass.

Stewart Copeland is by far the best drummer ever, his energy is unique
and The Police performed the best reunion ever!! I was there! It's unforgettable!!

I occasionally go on RUclips to find live videos of myself caught by people in the crowd. And I always end up just finding Police videos to watch Stewart Copeland instead. Best drummer ever.

It was on this tour in Tokyo they did Wrapped Around Your Finger and the video that features Stewart is just sensational. His set up is unbelievable. All kinds of cymbals big and small, various toms, bell tree, chimes , kettle drums and a gong to boot. For me he is one of the best....

Anyway..... That's the same backline percussion rig he used on the original Synchronicity tour in 83'-84' .
Minus the Synclavier driven sequences. They used Ableton driven digital sequences for the reunion tour.
He also uses that rig for Walking In Your Footsteps. Peace from the USA.

One funny thing happened to me. I didn't know much of Police's music, so I watched this concert to see what I was missing. Even though it's not my style of rock music, I could not stop tapping my foot during the entire thing. Surprisingly catchy music, damn! Now let me watch the other video without the crap saound quality LOL
Listen to their albums. Some of their best songs weren't singles (e.g. The bed's too big without you.)

I can't believe sting was almost 60 here. He looks 30.
Go listen to The Police - Live Tokyo Dome 2008 HD or in Vina Del mar and you'll see how crappy this Rio concert was sound engineering wise. I know it is a challenge to do it in front of the Ocean and all that, so unless you're there the hear it live, any recording will always sound like crap.
