Don't get me wrong, I love Clapton on a Strat, but you gotta admit the tones he had with the Beano Burst, the Cream 335, and The Fool were to die for..
I saw CREAM LIVE twice, their Wheels of Fire tour. Both times Clapton was playing his single pickup Firebird, thru multiple Marshall Stacks of course. He was unbelievable. They were THE SUPER GROUP at that point. JMHO......
I’m a bit late seeing this one but just had to say how good I think it is. You are so fully attuned to Clapton, so aware that a musician’s cultural context is part of their style, that the rhythms, phrasing and melodic development all come out right. The bit about navigating the specific boxes and areas of the neck at the end was superb. If you fancied doing a video on EC’s trademark licks I think lots of your viewers would be grateful for it. Many thanks.
The best vid for explanation regarding the Crossroads solo transitioning back and forth between major and minor scales. Been searching for just such a clear explanation of Clapton's soloing over the chords. Many, many, thanks. PS super guitar skills that you displayed!
This is the sound … nice playing indeed. I think everyone who really likes Clapton would agree that he sounded totally on fire and at his best when he played Gibsons … His Beano Burst, his ES335, his Firebird and of course his SG. Thanks for such a wonderful post.
Really excellent and educational video. Rarely do I learn some interesting theory that I can instantly apply from YT videos. Today was different. Really helpful and added some new content to my very short arsenal of licks! LOL.
F£&@ing blinding video , bang on track goose,I stopped playing for a couple months after the jab , my hands went up the wall after the 1st jab , inspiration after watching , I thank you bro 😎

2:30 am in Los Angeles and I'm having and enjoying coffee w/ you at 10:30 am (tho' I suspect you prolly don't play guitar 'till later in the day... ) cheers Goose

Love this lesson, it's one part of guitar i really struggle with, trying to solo with the same groove as the rhythm, something the likes of Clapton and SRV was a masters at.
@@TheGuitarShow eric nailed that solo in first live performance on an SG. Can you believe..I bought that tape on 4 track. How old am I??? How time flies. I am playing again. Poor dogs? they cant throw panties at me. Good thing, I am too old to catch them.
@@TheGuitarShow question; How much MJ does one have to smoke for a pair of nasty, sweaty panties caught on ones nose, for that to be sexy? Answer: a bunch.
Blazin' fella \m/ anatta in full effect \m/ I have been looking for a delay circuit that floats my boat , after I finish my OGOD ped, think I'm going to adapt an old dictaphone I have and mess about with it for a while...it's not pedal size but has variable speed and eq ... Eric Clapton’s superb rhythm playing is often overlooked - not by the Goose! Great groove Ramon - really rhythmic lead guitar ... legato seems to be an important aspect of ‘the flow’ 🤔🙂👍🙏

Thanks Derek yes I have a heavier touch than clapton, legato is also important as you noted.
Hey Ramon! Nice playing... how about Jimi Hendrix' Villanova Junction like on Woodstock, after the Star-Spangled Banner part...
More Cream!
I promise more coming!
Great video. Lots of useful information. We’re you using a pedal for your overdrive sound? If so, which one? Your tone sounded great.
Oh thanks no straight into the amp no pedals on this one
Any Mick Taylor's John Mayall period Freddie King tunes would be nice.
Hardly looks at the neck, the way u should know the neck, by feel

I've discovered that in life you just can't breathe coffee...
It's true!
Very smooth Ramon! Careful, they will start referring to you as Slowhand... 😉
Haha thanks, that would be an honour 🙏🎸
what’s the amp & gear used during the demo?
@@B__Mer this is true
It's a mystic blues amp and 1 cable, it has a quicksilver delay in the loop set to slap back
Cover “Let Me Love You” by the Jeff Beck Group 😛
Great idea 🎸🙏
Yes. Imo..."Truth" album and the next Jeff Beck Magritte Apple cover album were his best.
Is making a Clapton facial expression essential to the tone? :)
Of course it is lol 🎸🙏
...uh I dunno, maybe some Mark Knopfler or... do you like Robin Trower?
No. How about Colin Hay?
cheers again
