I watch a lot of You Tube videos to look for ideas and Jon's projects are always the most simple and elegant and its Jon's projects that I always make. I can apply the skills he teaches to everything. Well Done!!
Jon: I'm working on a simple storage with drawers. I'm getting hung up with laying out the drawers in terms of spacing and how you calculate where the slides go etc. Maybe a future video explaining how you determine layout and drawer size. Thank you!! @@JonPetersArtHome
The table design is like a Kotatsu table. A typically square low table that has a radiant heater mounted under the table that faces down. People sit around the table in the winter with their legs under the table to keep warm. I always enjoy your build videos. Thank you.
I made a blanket chest using Jon's plans and it got rave reviews from those who have seen it. I used slightly different moulding - still a fun project.
Hey Jon - Welcome back. I took a break, too, after making the 2 bureaus for the master bedroom. I tore apart the master bath tiled shower and did it right. Best to everyone. Thumbs up.
It's gorgeous! Thank you for making a series of elegant furniture ideas and projects accessible to those of us without all the major tools and skills that more advanced furniture makers have. I wish you hosted courses; I’d sign up in a New York Second. I think you instill a relaxed vibe, and confidence, almost Norm Abram-esque. 😉 Kudos!!!
Great addition to your furniture line, Jon! Anybody would be proud to have this in their home. I love that the build is approachable to newer woodworkers, yet being mahogany gives it a "bragging rights" feel.
Somehow when you teach it makes me feel I can do it. Simple joinery. No trac saw or expensive equipment needed. Very nice video. Good length and in depth detail. Thanks
That's a very beautiful piece of furniture Jon and I always enjoy your tips along the way! I'm very fortunate to have two Woodworker's Source stores here where I live. Your mahogany table really looks great!
Beautiful, I would have cut an arch or some sort of ornamental "removal" of material from the straight pieces connecting the legs. They look heavier than needed on this piece.
Trust me I make plenty of mistakes… But also have the opportunity to edit them out :) . Making mistakes is all part of Wood Working and the only way to get better my advice is always try to take it slow… Anything good takes time.
Beautiful table, Jon~! On the tabletop glue-up, does the Thixo come off pretty easily with a scraper or chisel? You didn't show that detail, so just wondering. Didn't know if it had hardened fully or was still pliable when you removed it. Great work (as usual)~! Looking forward to see if this plan winds up in a future bundle since I have most of your plans already. 🙂
I removed it with a router similar to how I cut plugs with a router. I didn’t include it in the video because I covered it in depth in my last table top video. Maybe I should post a short video on just that subject… Let me know what you think. Thanks for watching!
Hi John, Just curious what kind of brush you used to apply total boat? Thanks for the great videos over the years. I follow a lot of your refinishing recommendations and they're always spot on.
Gorgeous table! One question though. I didn't see a sanding stage in the video. Did you jump over that because, as we all know, who likes to watch sanding? Or was it not a necessary step with the several coats of spar-varnish?
So simply elegant Bud. Sooooo we have 3.75 months left in 2022 so I'm expecting at least 5 more furniture builds!! Oh I kill myself!! Great job Jon, hoping all is well, Dirty Jersey out!!!

Thanks Paul that means a lot!
This is a fact. I’ve gotten so much inspiration from his projects

Beautiful piece, Jon. All praise to TotalBoat but I'd feel guilty leaving that table outdoors!
Best Table, Best Workmanship,
Thanks!
Just found you. Love it. Thanks Jon.
Not going to lie, I was shocked to see you using a red pocket hole jig! 🤣
That is a very elegant piece, Jon.
Great work Jon 👍👍👍👍👍

Beautiful table, Jon.

That is the first time I have ever seen the tapered part of the legs being attached to the apron to create the flared legs.
Very nice Mr. Jon
Hermoso trabajo... Felicidades, un abrazo desde Chile 🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱
Enjoyed your use of the Japanese type legs and look of this outdoor table. Now, maybe some shoji screens for indoors?
I love the look of this
Thanks Rob!
Very nice, I'll make sure to make this table.
Great video man, tks alot, hello from Mexico
A calm and informative video. And an american who doesn't throw stuff on the bench!
Great looking table and the finish looks outstanding Jon.
Thanks! I really appreciate it!
Excellent video

Thanks Chuck, it’s good to be back and on schedule. Sounds like the renovation turned out great!
Very good as usual, thanks. 🇩🇪
Such a simple but elegant, typical Jon Peters project, by which I'm referring to both the video and the table. Thank you (once again), Jon.
Thanks Jack!
Looks great

Thanks Andrew! Looking forward to seeing you next month… it’ll be here before you know it. Have a great weekend!
Thank you for the video. I especially liked the design of this table. The bottom vs top taper was a great idea.

Love your work. Thanks for sharing Jon!
Thanks Ben!

Thanks, I thought about something like that
I am a bit of woodworker as well but when I see you I feel I should quit because you do everything so perfect and without any mistakes. I think I suck

Great video and beautiful piece Jon! Any further thoughts about using glue instead of epoxy for the legs? DD

Thanks Laura It’s a natural hair brush … it’s always best to use a natural hair brush with a clear oil base finish.
Sorry 🤦♂️ Brent

Thanks Brother! Lol I better get to work 😂 thanks again Mike!
Was this 4/4 boards for the top, Jon?
Yes 👍
💯🆒💡👍
A Japanese will never use pocket holes
That’s just a jerk comment but I’ll leave it here and you can own it.
@@JonPetersArtHome Great response. I can’t believe what jerks some commenters are on here. Ridiculous.
