After watching this yesterday,I decided to try it. I didn't have the exact ingredients so this is what I used: Frozen crinkle cut carrots and baby potatoes. Frozen popcorn chicken. Cheddar cheese soup. Swiss cheese and smokehouse Cheddar cheese. I did have sour cream and crackers. It came out really good 👍
OMG, Kristen. You are so damn cute. 😄 BTW, those crackers are not burnt, they're perfectly dark golden brown. Those would be the pieces I would be going for. Awesome dish, can't wait to try it! Thank you!!!!
Looks good.... I like one pan meals...but I would mix the veggies in with the soups and sour cream then pour it all over the chicken tenders for better coverage. Also you could use cheese crackers but when I make this I think I will either use Ritz BACON flavored crackers or ONION flavored crackers from TOASTED.
I would have combined the 2 soups so one end doesn't taste like cream of chicken and the other end like cream of celery...but all of it will taste the same! 👍
I appreciate your letting people know they can avoid the packaging and additives/preservatives and build this dish w fresh product. My chef always taught me to learn proper technique first- prepping, dredging, sauces, % of fat in cheeses, etc - then use hacks as needed but the quality and presentation must not suffer.
The Tillamook cheese you used for this dish is the cheese I use to make cheese zombies. Yum! I don't think the crackers are burnt. They are an added taste. Looks delish . . . ❤
@@barbaraspencer8927 Barbara, in grade school (for me, 1950's but I know they are still made), I think every child bought a hot lunch ticket on the day they were making cheese zombies. Make dough, let it rise. (you can also use frozen bread and follow package directions for thawing and rising) After raising time, take dough out of container and knead and roll out on the thicker side and place your favorite cheese slices, I use Tillamook cheddar and, if liked, place 2 layers of cheese all over the rolled out dough. You need to have another rolled out piece of dough the same size to place over dough with cheese slices. Crimp ends so they are sealed and lightly brush melted butter over the top of dough. Place dough on a large cookie sheet and bake at 375° until dough is done. Let cool some and cut into squares. Cheese will have melted during baking. Bite into a warm cheesy zombie square or dip in soup. I prefer tomato soup. Enjoy! Any questions, let me know. (Colette in Washington state)
@@stimpyfranklin8052 oh thank you Colette for responding. They sound so good and when I make them I also will have them with tomato soup!! I also was in grade school in the 1950's, in Philadelphia, but the school did not have a cafeteria. We students had to walk home for lunch!! Luckily for my brother and I, it was only 2 blocks. From our house. I still live in Pa, but not in Philly. Thanks again, Barb.
You funny girl! I wish I knew you, I’m a goof too. Gotta try this recipe. You don’t need to wear gloves! Who wears gloves when cooking anyway unless maybe in a restaurant?
Well I think I would mix the broccoli stuff with sauce first so it's evenly coted and maybe heat the chicken separately but that's just me. Oh but it did give me some ideas and don't knock it till you try it I guess
Ham hocks and sweet potatoes are good too. Try that recipe with real ham and extra sharp old fashioned cheddar shreds. You'll wanna eat the baking dish.😊😊
