    1. Two plant based meals per day plus a fruit snack.
    2. Don't talk
    3. No screens or books
    4. Talk with the divine (bonus)
    5. No sex, porn, lust
    6. Meditation 3x 1 hr
    7. Strong determination

      1. I can't eat only plant based food cause I can't tolerate most vegetables.
      2. I live among people, I can't avoid talking.
      3. That can be OK.
      4. I do it often.
      5. That can be OK.
      6. I can't afford meditating 3x 1hr, I have responsibilities and little time for myself.
      7. I'm working on that, it's often not that easy to be determined.

    I had an out of body experience while meditating. I was just meditating but not trying to have an oobe. It just happens when your completely relaxed, and mentally and spiritually open to the experience.

    Regarding food, I think it is important that everyone (especially those that are spiritual) recognize the harm they are causing by eating animals and their bodily secretions. Striving to be kind is something that I believe most of us aim for, and one of the strongest ways we can make an impact is by leaving them off of our plates. In doing so, this is extremely beneficial for our souls, their souls, our health, and for this beautiful planet.
    I've also heard that plants are of very high vibration versus dead animals, which have none- because- they are dead. I can't speak to any validity surrounding this, but it makes sense to me when I think about it.

    Hi Ben. I very much enjoyed the video and got a lot out of it. I've attended a Vipassana 10 day Retreat. They've been going for years here in Australia. I managed to get through it and got benefit from it. I've heard many people describe their experiences on the retreat and they are all pretty much the same. Your tips for reaching higher planes are so sensible and align with what I've been taught. I just wanted to add that 'lust' is not just about sex - it can be about desires and wanting material things..... Usually things we really don't need at all.

    Perhaps there are different rules depending on the meditation style and goals. I find Vippasana (and similar )to be more challenging so it makes sense you would need these rules. However 😅sometimes it can become an obstacle via belief, that if you don’t get it all right, that’s why the experience eludes you.
    I know people will balk at this, but…
    Three years ago, after a 12 year lapse in my practice , I decided to restart it with a certain teacher’s guided meditations, mistakenly thinking they would be easy and light to start with. They’re not typical though, just some verbal cues over sacred music by well-known sound healers. Also there is breathwork first. Two months in, genuinely longing for the Divine, I went in with determination and ended up having a Kundalini awakening and a mystical experience. I’ve had these sacred experiences ever since, every time I meditate. The retreats I attended after this happened are the antithesis of what you described. 3 full (omnivorous) meals per day, coffee, loud music and dancing around with each other during the intermissions. There are multiple seated and walking meditations of 1-4 hours preceded by lectures. Many people have these profound experiences during the retreat in spite of all of this. There is a lot of joy and building close friendships as well, and community.
    In my experience, the top factor is the longing for the Divine. Not as a rule, but genuine love. Constant scrolling online, particularly social media, makes your thoughts disorganized which impedes going deep. Same with unmanaged stress. Lust also affects the mind but also siphons sexual energy, the creative energy that instead should rise up the spine. Lastly, it takes courage and determination to keep going deeper to break through any fear, and get used to any strange sensations in the body (via the interface of the astral body with the nervous system) if you’re new to going into the void. 🙏🙏🙏

      I agree. There is no cookie cutter, one size fits all method for AP, nor for meditation. It reminds me of the days when people were saying you need to get in to the lotus position to meditate. That is a cultural rule and not everyone can get into that position.

    It's more difficult to meditate with food in my stomach. It makes sense it would be easier by eating less, and eating all plant based, easy to digest meals. Nut butter, seeds, nuts or anything with fat that is harder to digest will be an issue too I think. If I ate meat or harder to digest foods I would do it after meditation or prayer. Depends what your goals are I guess.

    I've heard that darkness is an element that can strongly help the process, it's a condition practiced in these advanced ascetic 10 days retreats.

      I have the opposite expirience. Bright light or a sunny day works for me better.

      @@rubberduck777 Sure, whatever works better, but many different cultural and historical groups, like Egyptians, monastic Christians, Japanese Yamabushi, Sufi mystics, etc, practiced dark room techniques in caves or isolated dark places for thousands of years for a good reason.

      ⁠@@rubberduck777Ancient Greeks meditated in dark caves and experienced a literal light envelop them after sitting in total darkness for days. Erick Godsey spoke about his experience with this profound phenomenon on a third eye drops interview. It’s real.

    My mind loves rules 😂 Thank you for sharing Ben, I found this helpful. I know what you mean about dinner, I was advised to eat like a King at breakfast, again lots of protein at lunch and a light snack for dinner. This doesn't really work living with family and extended family, but something I could do on occasions.

    The connection with avoiding lust and higher states of experience is very real. Sexual energy is the concentrated life force. When eye contact is made with a person u find attractive energies drop from the brain into the lower regions of the body. its an impersonal biological process that reinforces survival of the human species.

    After listening to this I was having a chat with god and reversing my car. The next thing I know I have taken out the side of the car parked next to me. During this chat I was asking for help as I am struggling financially. Now I have an excess to pay on the claim of over $1,050 and all the hassle of an insurance claim and a big premium next year. Any time I ask for help I seem to be rewarded with the opposite of what I need.

    I am noone who is regularly meditating. For me it works best, when I am in a state of natural happyness and there is a calm background noice. Like in a train or public indoor bath, which is not crowded. This have been the places, where I reached twice a deep meditation.
    But I use only focus on hearth and breathing. Breathing is mostly bad described, because there are two types of it. To breath air, what is known (Not for all recommended: "and this breathing is what I slowly stop to do"). And there is a kind of spiritual / imagined breathing, which have to continue. Deep meditation is maybe not for everyone, because the passed time is than different. 1 minute in meditation exeeds 1 hour in real time.

    Reminded me of a line in the Dhammapada "Be passive in pain" one pointed meditation such as breathing while being mindful of the truth of suffering and letting pain go(not paying attention to the pain) has benefits.

    When I meditate and connect with certain spirits, they cause my body to sway. It’ll be interesting to see if I can keep still. My body is literally taken over by their energy ❤

    Astro projection and Out of body state are different things.. OBE is even more physical than this 3D reality. Also OBE is basically an NDE controlled… amazing experience any of us can do!

      That’s a great question. It’s not because it’s conscious ‘chat’ rather than just random inner commentary of the mind. It’s also a single-pointed focussed conversation, rather than the mind flicking from
      one thing to the next. There’s much more too it, but this is the basics based on your Q 🙏

      Depends, deep meditaion will not work with inner chat. Meditaion/Prayer in common state helps to focus on god as conversation partner.
